Here’s a nice surprise: notoriously perfect chip-rock band Anamanaguchi did one of those rad Take-Away Show things with La Blogothèque, and the end result is incredibly cool: a version of the band’s live show staple and recent free summer single “Airbrushed”, performed with an awesome acoustic set-up. Check it out below:

No words. Just <3
Also funny how at 1:22 a guy comes out of the building all like "woah whats going on here?" and then stays to watch the beautiful show :3
Awesome show. Lol yeah, I kind of wish I was that guy thought. Awesome to walk out and find that going on.
I love these guys.
Good, because it’s illegal not to ’round these parts.
is it bad that I found this infinitely more tolerable than the pure chip synth stuff that Anamanaguichi is known for.
Actually, the only ‘synth’ sounds in Anamanaguchi are the ones produced by the NES, which are left completely intact here. The acoustic (instead of electric) guitars are pretty much the sole difference between this set and their normal stuff.
Electric gutar is a synthesized sound too.
I just went and listened to the original of this track and couldn’t make it 1 minute. There is something grating about fake sound to me. I need it cut with a little acoustic.
Actually electric guitar isn’t a synthesized sound.
yeah synth means that the waveforms are synthesized, guitars use the physical vibrations of the strings
Alright, fair enough. But you know what I mean. There is acoustic and electric and the original had electric guitars and this had acoustic, as well as a real drum set, and something about that made all the difference for me.
yeah, they use real drums on their albums too
Come brother! We’ve been waiting. You can sit by me.
Amazing !! Thank you. I wish i was there…

I was so worried we’d never hear acoustic chiptune after Tugboat retired. Hope they do more like this.
Shit, Tugboat retired?! When? I had no idea.
All this time I’ve been waiting for a “Remix Medley #2″ that will never happen. :’[
Certainly seemed that way in a MySpace message posted November 12, 2008.
