Bionic Commando Rearmed, one of the most successful downloadable titles of this generation, is getting a sequel. And they’re TOTALLY RUINING IT, YOU GUYS.
Honestly, this looks rad, if pretty straightforward. BC:R was a fantastic and totally brutal platformer, and if a sequel means we get more of that amazing French electro soundtrack, I’m all the way down. Still, since the original Rearmed was a fairly faithful remake of the original, it’ll be very interesting to see what direction they take this.
Readers! How do you make a sequel to a remake to a game that never had a sequel? Let us know in the comments!

Are you fucking kidding me? Rad Spencer cannot jump! That’s the entire concept of the game! The massive metal grapplic hook arm makes it too damn heavy to jump, that and the iron boots you get in area 16. I don’t care how much everyone said it was a dated construct by the time Rearmed came around, that’s what makes it Bionic Commando and not every other platformer ever!
Still, the first Rearmed was a fantastic game, a heartfelt loveletter to the long-lost era of hardcore 8-bit action. Not sure how a sequel to that will do, but I’ll send some positive vibes their general direction. I hope this is connected to that announcement from last week that the team at Grin that made the original Rearmed are back together as their own studio.
This is actually being developed by Fatshark (the Lead and Gold guys), not Might & Delight (the new GRIN team). Frowny face.
Well then that’s two very good reasons to be very disappointed indeed. You go sit in the corner, Capcom, and think about what you’re doing to us.
I was gonna ask is that him jumping?!
Why would he jump! Hes got a grappling hook for an arm! He barley need to walk!
Now now, don’t get all that upset. They could do just as good a job. And besides, when do you need a grappling hook to jump 3 foot wide holes?
When you’re RAD SPENCER, that’s when.
Well, as a slight consolation, it looks like a fairly small and worthless jump. Kind of makes you wonder what point it even serves, really.
There are those 2 foot wide gaps wih no grapple spots areas that comes to mind.
