This week’s bonus round is all about Xbox Live Indie Games. We’re looking at what I consider to be the greatest masterpiece of our time, Sword and Hammer, and the excellent Aban Hawkins and the 1,000 Spikes.

Hey thanks for doing an off-week video. Didn’t expect to see this when I popped in today!
I like this format… if you can throw one of these in every few weeks or once a month that’d be sweet.
So, firstly I’d like to say, TRS is static, un-engaging, slow, over-thought drivel.
I’d never watched it before, but I couldn’t stand it after watch about a quarter of it looking at three guys, while the middle guy is yammering about the basic gameplay mechanics without the use of visual aid, and without even attempting to hook the viewer… How is that totally rad in any sense of the words?
Secondly, sword and hammer looks hilarious… but I’ll never play it, since I’m from Australia, where we aren’t free to access un-rated content such as Xbox Indies (whatever it’s called at the moment).
I’d love to have a go at the 1000 spikes… too bad about that one.
Been playing two games mainly:
My old homestay: Minecraft
And been giving Portal some love in anticipation for Portal 2.
Play
I too found portal’s commentary mode broadening.
But I gotta say one thing. You prefer dual analogs to keyboard and mouse? Are you crazy? Thumb controls are the whole reason of increased hit box sizes and aim assist. You can’t HIT IT like you can with a mouse.
Or maybe that’s just because I’m no good with a control pad.
Well, I also am using a mac with a track pad and no mouse, so that’s a big reason why I like dual analogs. If I had a mouse I might like it better, but I just feel like the analogs give me a lot more control. I mean, my first major counsel gaming system was the n64. Before that the gameboy. I’ve played computer games for a long time, but mostly point and click games. So I’m more used to dual analogs.
Okay, verses a track pad dual sticks are unquestionably superior. But real men keep a trackball on hand at all times.
From that “Sword And Hammers” review, I could relate this to “Peasant’s Quest.”
