8:55 - Everyone settles in.
9:00 - Reggie takes the stage. “Hi, everyone. I’d like to talk about some stuff that would be really exciting to your grandma, if she had any interest in what we do…”
Everyone: “Oh.”
9:20 (that’s a full 20 minutes later) - Reggie: “Did you know the DS can take really terrible pictures and put mustaches on them? It’s friggin’ hilarious!”
Everyone gets up to leave.
Reggie: “SUPER MARIO BROS!”
Everyone: “Huh, what?”
Reggie: “Nothing. Let’s play some shitty golf games and stuff.”
Everyone feels cheated. For approximately another 20 minutes.

9:45 - Iwata comes on-stage. Everyone is cautiously optimistic.
Iwata: “I would like very much to sell you some more expensive peripherals that only work with one game. And also a timeshare. I brought a Powerpoint…”
Everyone gets up to leave again.
Iwata: “NEW MARIO GALAXY AND METROID!”
Everyone: “Seriously?”
Iwata: “Yeah, seriously.”
Everyone: “For real?”
Iwata: “Yeah, I mean it, please, sit down.”
Everyone: “Well, okay…”
Everyone sits down.
Iwata: “THAT’S ALL, THANKS FOR JOINING US!”
He throws down a smoke bomb and disappears.
Everyone: “Oh, come ON!”

That was a disappointing looking super mario bros to me. Seriously, 4 player co-op and you have to have TWO Toads? Can’t spring for a princess at least? Then I thought “oh, this looks simplistic enough that it’s gotta have a level editor”. Nope, Mario Vs Donkey 2 has a level editor, but nothin said about super mario having one.
