Man, the Dingoo looks rad! I think I’ll make a video comment… If I can get this mic to be louder!!
[comment box seems broken in Chrome 3.0]
I got exited there for a second, with the whole “Win one” and then it said America…bugger!
But I guess $82+whatever it costs for them to mail it to me, isn’t that bad, I mean it looks great, smaller than most handhelds…of course I might have to wait till I’ve bought a new iPod and got my PC system sorted…but hopefully within the next year or so THIS WILL BE MINE!
Sad about the audio :(
I hold Secret of Evermore as my valued classic:

BTW: WHY didn’t you include my reply for best game music in Episode 051. Was Embodiment Of Scarlet Devil too obscure of a game to be included? Or did you not even look at my video/ have enough time to put my reply in?! TELL ME, I SAY!
Well Tye,
It wasn’t the hardcoreness or the obscureness of your answer, it was the fact that I couldn’t hear you cause your mic was too low. If you can get your volume fixed for this week you got my promise that you’re in! Also getting your comment in before monday helps ;)
That…..was creepy xD
Wow thanks for the awesome review loved it. Like Anthony said it’s not with out some quirks but the A320 just keeps getting better and better.
We were proud to provide ByteJacker with the A320 so they could review it and then give it away as a prize.
So if for some reason you don’t win the contest you can still purchase one from us at:
http://www.dingoo-digital-usa.com
Once again thanks Anthony and Bytejacker for the review and all you do for the indie software/hardware community.
Who knows we might just ship another to them soon to give away ;)

Hey you guys!
I have watched your show for a long time now and never comment. Because I am a terrible person. But I just wanted to tell you guys my most treasured game (even though I’m Canadian and don’t qualify). My most treasured game would have to be IN THE HUNT. I got that game for five bucks at a pawn shop. The same guys worked on the following metal slug games so its an important part of gaming history for me. And you should play it if you haven’t! Also thank you John and Anthony for such a great show.
Last I checked I thought Canada was considered part of North America along with Mexico could be wrong hehehehehehhee
Justin’s right! Record that video!
When is this giveaway over, anyways? And will I get an email or something, if I win? Just gotta know, that thing is sick.

I am fortunate to own an original copy of Tetris for the gameboy :) And an original gameboy! Best handheld of the time :D
The dingoo looks like a terriffic investment, could I spare the $80 :P
Buster’s hidden treasure was actually a really fun Sonic rip-off. I’ve never been able to get confirmation on this, but I sort of suspect it was developed by Treasure. They were Konami’s in-house dev team for all their Genesis stuff before they set off on their own to make Dynamite Headdy, so they were responsible for: Castlevania Bloodlines, Contra Hard Corps, Rocket Knight Adventures, and McDonald’s Treasure Land Adventure (which is way too good because of it).
This would either have been their last game with Konami before Headdy, or Konami’s first game without them. I’ve always been on the fence as to which I think is true.
I think that Tiny Toon’s might be a Sonic rip-off… It would make sence why I liked in SO much. I LOVED Sonic and had basically all the games.
But, Tiny Tunes, in my opinion, is my all time favorite game. Couldn’t ask for a better “gem”.
In fact, I am doing an LP (yes I’m a LPer) on it right now =P
I would play that Dingoo WAY more than I expected seeing as I just found out I can have Linux on it. But I mostly want it for gaming. There are some Wario Land games I would like to play and I want something to play on the bus ride to and from school so, I think this is perfect!

Or maybe I’m just being humble, BITCHES. No, seriously, it’s cool and all, but it would be wasted on my ass. I would only use it for LSDJ and Kirby roms.

o Yes, ASCIIpOrtal to the Dingoo, iff I had one.
o I’m not that big a jerk.
o Treasure Mathstorm! Part of the Super Solvers series.
o Shhh.
Plus a cute kid
C’mon now, Joe – no one ever won a contest for bringing up why the other guy doesn’t deserve to win. Except in politics. Otherwise, it’s just poor sportsmanship.
I totally had that Dragon’s Lair pack. I got it for $10. I remember there was something weird about getting it to run in Windows 95 or 98 or whatever was out at the time and it took me about 2 hours of dicking around to get it to run.
Did you say, ANY gem?!

I have had the dingoo four about 4 months now and still play it every day. the dingux community (linux on the dingoo) almost has a new emulator coming out every day and the dingoo linux install is really easy plus you get to choose to boot in the original os or linux. but of all my classic games I actually own it is master blaster it has been put out of my nes so many times the sticker is gone. master blaster is my childhood. that is the game all my friends would come over to play. over and over again. camp out with a box of twinkees and couch cushion forts
….LINUX……..ON THE DINGO?!?!??!!
O SHI- I need this >.<
Would you mind if I posted your giveaway details and a link back to this post on my website? :)

Oh, man, that little tour set my mind a blaze. I could do a rant on the subject of the progression of games and the media that came with them….
Wow.
I’d never heard of the Loom audio drama before. Fortunately it seems to be up on youtube so I’m off to listen to it.
Man, that Loom package is epic. Infocom used to do a lot of stuff like that, too. I think it’s the best kind of anti-piracy device I’ve ever seen: give people physical things worth owning, no matter how small, and they’ll buy the package.
Infocom used to take it a step further and integrate the boxed items into the games – things like menus at a hotel, maps, etc. that you’d need information from later on. I loved that. It really made it an experience.
Glad you guys liked it. The audio drama may seem really camp and cheesey now, but at the time I totally bought into it. It blew my frickin mind :D
Oh and dude, the Infocom feelies are the stuff of legends. I’m so jealous of you bigger boys – by the time I heard about them they were only available second hand at exorbitant prices :(

Brilliant. I’m just listening to it and it’s pretty good, but the video presentation they’ve made for it makes it even better.
I love how much they used to throw in with PC games. It’s no wonder piracy is so rampant these days when the retail games are nothing more than a disk and “getting started” card (can’t even bother with an instruction booklet. . . ).
No webcam :( Can I leave a video response on youtube?
Sure can, Jeremy! Just put a link to it here in the comments for this post.
So hard to choose – I love all my classic games so much. (well, I’m sure there are some I don’t love. I’m looking at you ET.) While making the video I was half expecting Kanye to run up and defend some of my other games.
But here’s my choice (and a tour of my classic video game collection):

my favorite game is super mario bros for nes and its bout mario that rescue princes peach and its a fun game its not a hard game to play
Super Mario Bros. stars “Jump Man” himself, Mario, along with his brother Luigi, and takes players through more than 30 colorful levels of varied theme and design, all of them packed with cute, stylized enemies like the goombas and a wide array of platforms and obstacles.
developed by Nintendo in late 1985 and published for the Nintendo Entertainment System as a sequel to the 1983 game Mario Bros
Excellent review! I just got mine yesterday and I’m thrilled =D
Now, about that game.. the gem.. the one and only for me. That game is no other than “Monsters in My Pocket”, for the NES.
Why? -you may ask.. And I’d love to tell, although it’s a long story, so get popcorn and read ^___^
It all started when I was little, I was about 8 or 9 years old, and there was this promotion, Monsters in My Pocket, where we got these little plastic toys along with some candy. They rocked. And then I found this game in a Blockbuster, for rent, and no one knew it was about the same monsters or anything! I grabbed it and started playing. This HAD to be shared with my best friend. After all, the game had a 2 player cooperative mode. I almost wet my pants. So I stayed over at my buddy’s house for 3 days, obviously playing all night long said game.. along with others, because we were young, we had no cheats, no emulators, and the game was hard for us, so we had to switch to play Ecco or go out and play. I rented the game so many times, the owner of the store “sold” it to me at the price of one rent last time I went to rent it. The day came when we finally got to the last level and fight against the dreaded Warlock. GODDAMMMIITT!! He was pure evil. The battle was epic, I tell you… and then we finally beat the game.. whoa.. not so fast, looks like we didn’t! After “The End” shows up, the REAL final monster, which is Warlock again, has to be fought!! Good days…
Now I’m 23 years old, and at that time I didn’t have a little brother. But I do now. He’s my everything [along with my little sister of course hehe], and we enjoy gaming very very much. We have new consoles and computers, but we still play my old games in my old consoles, and emulators.. thanks to me, he’s a fan of what he would call retro, but I call “MY games”. Last summer vacations, I went home [I live in a different city, since I go to the University] and I told him we were going to play a special game. No cheats, no savestates. He looked at me, puzzled by that, and agreed. He’s 13 right now, older than me when I first played Monsters in My Pocket, and I obviously grew up. The game was not so hard this time hehe, but it was SO much fun, and we make such a good team =]
So that’s my gem, that’s what I’ll be playing in my Dingoo. And that’s why I’m also going to work on it, trying to have multiplayer between Dingoos. Dingoo + Dingux + MiniUSB to USB connector + Bluetooth Adapter is what I have in mind… anyways, that’s another story. I hope to get this Dingoo for him actually =P

I just commented but my email was wrong.. this is my correct email [I had an extra 'e'] Sorry about that..

I’m not sure if this counts, but my favorite classic game was Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Not so classic you may say, but I’m afraid I’m not as old as some of you, so my early days were filled with NES and SNES gaming, but I was too young to remember them enough to call them my favorite. As a result, Ocarina of Time was really the first game that stuck with me.
I played it over and over on the N64. Recently, with my N64 lying broken in the corner of my room, I found the joy of high-resolution textures on computer emulators. I made a video some time ago for Djipi’s excellent work on the cel-shade mod for Ocarina of Time, so I’ll simply link it here, it’s rather different from everyone else’s video responses with their own commentaries, but rather than talking about it, I figured this video would probably be more memorable and interesting with footage of the game instead. :P Hopefully it’ll still count as an entry. :)

Oh man, I was really worried that crashing sound was your Game Gear smashing on the floor for a moment there :S
You’ve got some really sweet gems in that collection. I had no idea SEGA even made a PDA!
LOL, actually my cat knocked over a candlestick. Gamegear is still working fine :)
Yeah, the IR7000 is certainly an interesting item. I still don’t really understand why sega made it, but it’s certainly a neat little gadget.

I really wish I had a Dingoo. I was looking into one of them and nows a good chance.
HAHA I still love that old copy of Millipede and Centipede for the Game Boy Pocket/ Gameboy. I kinda play it every so often with Tetris 2.
[...] there can only be one winner of the Dingo A320. And his name [...]
Gem of my collection? Well, I’ll throw out the gem of my NES collection (if it could even be called that. xD.) But seriously, here’s my thoughts.
The game is called Metal Storm, and was released just before the SNES came out. You know how the games slowly get better as the console ages, as the developers learn how to use the console better. Well, this is one of those games, being released near the end of the nes’s life.
The game itself is a platformer. You, a mech with a gun are to pass each stage. Whether it be another mech infront of you, or a turret, or boss, you shoot it away and progress. Sound usual? Yeah, but it’s not. The game gives you one bonus – the power to control gravity. So, if you feel like walking on the roof, walking past a mech instead of blowing it up, or just feel like getting some secrets, you have the power to do it. There are obsticles which force you to manipulate the gravity to your advantage – so in essence, it’s combining the fast paced action of platformers & puzzle games. But, it’s bosses have some shooter elements in them. (Dodge those bullets!) It almost reminds me of contra, with both games having solid controls.
Unfortunately, it never received much attention. I would have loved a sequel….Or two..Oh well. The game stands alone perfectly.
But that’s not all that’s going for it. It has a great soundtrack, and epic graphics. Though the graphics haven’t aged perfectly – it’s beautiful for what the nes has to offer. There’s some really cool things about it though, since it’s from the developers of R-Type, you’ll actually see things from R-Type. (Puts me in nostalgia mode, xD.)
So yeah. Playing this game on a portable device is a dream of mine, which is one reason why I’d love a Dingoo. Unfortunately, I couldn’t give a video response, but I’ve given my all in this comments. So whether you liked reading this or not, I hope you have a great time playing the game.
I’ve always wanted one of these, so maybe this time I’ll win one :)
While I don’t have a camera or webcam, I will try my best to describe my retro gaming collection:
Unfortunately, the only consoles I still own (that are considered retro) are the SNES and Genesis. I did however own an NES at one point in time, but I’ve no idea what’s become of it.
As a child, my first video game ever was Sonic the Hedgehog. To this day, I am a hardcore Sonic the Hedgehog fan, and nothing can change that.
About a year ago, my physical Genesis cartridge for Sonic & Knuckles got damaged (or whatever happened to it, it would no longer lock-on to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3)
Most would suggest I switch over to Sonic Mega Collection for Gamecube/PlayStation 2, which I do infact own, however, that wasn’t good enough for me.
I went on eBay and I purchased a used copy of the game.
For the SNES, there wasn’t much for me at the time, the only game that I still own for it is Super Mario World, which I find myself playing the Gameboy Advance remake more.
So my real gem, is not the Genesis itself, but my small Sonic the Hedgehog collection.
Wow, the system looks affordable, I hope I can win one..
