molleindustria’s Every Day The Same Dream, for all its artistic merits, was not much of an actual game. Yeah, there was some interactivity to it, but was (deliberately) pretty limited. Now, thanks to Austrian filmmaker Seni Kovski, it’s even less of a game, as he has adapted it into a short film.
By the way, if you haven’t played Every Day The Same Dream, which won Free Indie of the Week back in January with 43% of the vote, now’s the time to do it.
Readers! How do you think the short film compares to the original game? Let us know in the comments!

Good golly. Nic, you know you can space out your updates. WordPress lets you set up timed updates. You don’t need to make 3 in the same day.
I think I’ve said this before.
Sorry, that was mean sounding. Didn’t mean it like that. Just an FYI. You can space these things out. Back when Cymon’s Games was updating I’d queue up a month of updates in a weekend and then just let it roll.
I actually love multiple posts a day – I mean, it’s a blog. If Nick had more time and I had more money, he’d be doing this all day every day. I’d also prefer him posting when things are new as opposed to queueing – no one wants to read something they saw everywhere else a few weeks ago.
I really do wish we had the time and resources to make the blog a lot more robust, with way more features and reviews. It’s a long-term goal we’re working towards.
Before the music changes at the 2:30 mark there’s a high pitched beep every 5 seconds. Am I the only one that hears it?
I believe that is part of the music, Joe.
Every Day The Same Dream is one of my favorite indie games this year. The only thing I would’ve liked was a little more of the key moments from the game (catching the leaf, pulling over to see the cow, being yelled at by the boss, etc.). I understand the limitations of an indie short film, but these are my only complaints. Overall, this was a good film.
Haha, it’s funny you mention the cow part specifically, because creator left the following comment on the Vimeo video: “it was hard to get a cow with no budget ;)”
Psh, not out here. I pass 3 cows on my way to work every morning. And more than a few horses, chickens, and a goat. Utah, man. It’s frickin’ hick.
