Let’s take a trip, you and I, back to August 2008. The iPhone had just come out, the Summer Olympics were winding down, and some dude had just released an incredibly hard platformer about a ninja dodging traps in ancient feudal Somewhere. Oh yeah, and some dork with a camera was covering it on his new downloadable game review show. Neeeeerd.
Alright, now let’s jump back to June 2010. You still with me? Good. Another game called Hot Ninja Moon Moon has been released, but the games are not as identical as the names might imply. The new HNMM does quite a lot to change things up from the first game, including all-new levels, a new slide mechanic, and fun little trinkets to collect in hard-to-reach places.
All the assets in what I’m choosing to call New Hot Ninja Moon Moon have been created from scratch, too. That means adorable new pixel art as well as a bangin’ chiptune soundtrack by everyone’s favorite dude SoulEye. Oh yeah, and Meat Boy is an unlockable character this time around. What’s not to love?
Unlike the Windows-only original, the new version of the game runs in Flash, meaning (almost) everyone can play it! Insert iPad dig here.
