We’re on day 15 of the 22 day three-two-way Indie Kombat competition between Sophie Houlden, Chevy Ray Johnston and Arthur Lee, and finally, some things that resemble video games are starting to emerge. Good video games, even!

Now that one of the contestants has dropped out of the battle, it’s become a one-on-one feud between Sophie and Artie, and the fight is shaping up be a great one. Both kombatants have posted incomplete but playable builds of their games over the past week, and both of them are absolutely worth playing.

In one corner, we’ve got Podunkian’s STREEMERZ 2, a three-dimensional-lookin’ Unitimagining of his game STREEMERZ, which itself was a remake of Streemerz, a game off an unliscensed NES multicart called Action 52. Phew! Like pretty much everything Arthur touches, it’s already highly polished and at least kind of funny.

In the other, we’ve got Sophie’s as-of-yet-unnamed game, a platformy mashup of The Underside and Skullpogo. It’s a pretty crazy little demo, with 2.5D pathway bendiness, the ability to shoot some incomplete and AI-less enemies, and some fun pogo-stick-platforming.

Oh, and she wasn’t BS-ing about the badass scarf physics, either; they are totally in and totally distractingly cool.
