Our friend Raymond Teo at Secret Base is working on a pretty cool game. Maybe you’ve already heard. But what you might not know is that there’s a pretty impressive list of indie cameos in it!
The thing is, we aren’t just gonna tell you what they are. That would be too easy. Those of you who have been paying close attention to the screenshots and trailers out there might already know a couple of these, but that can only get you so far. Your job, guys, is to stare at this picture until you can tell who each of these characters are.
Your second job is to post your answers in the comments. Because I’ve only figured out like two of these.
Readers! Just who do you think these mysterious ‘allies’ are? Let us know in the comments!

Meat Boy, You Have to Burn the Rope, Steve from Minecraft, and Commander Video from Bit.Trip
Oh, and a Rocketbird from Rocketbird Revolution.
Takishawa from Andrew Brophy’s game on the left, I believe.
Meat Boy and That dude from Minecraft!
And I think one of them is that dude from Bit Trip Runner and you have to burn the rope guy on the left! I think! :)
The dude from Takishawa is Dead, the thing from You have to Burn the Rope, a Rocketbird, Meatboy, Commander Video, and Jables, from Jables’s Adventure. That baby thing looks strangely familiar. I have no idea what that box thing on the floor is though.
Its a little big, but is that one in the back that eye thing from runman race around the world?
An angry bird. Commander Video. Fez, Jables, and I’m guessing super meat boy.
nvm thats meatboy
Didint we have a game on the Indie rapid fire a few weeks ago about a box?
I can see why you’d say thats the guy from minecraft, but the legs are too narrow. Rather, I’d say its a character from Gravity Bone, which Bytejacker covered. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kdt-lboxt7Q Of course, it could just be mr minecraft with skinny legs.
Wha… How come everyones coming out of the woodworks for this topic? Where have you all been on the episodes?
I think the box head guy is Takashiwa from Takashiwa is Dead. And if that’s the case then this game gets even bigger indie cred than Super Meat Boy, who only did AAA indies. Way to go guys.
Oh, I’d forgotten about that one. Probably because I never got around to playing it, as interesting as it looked. I’d say Joe is probably right, the resemblance is very close.
well i dont think its in the photo but i saw a metroid in one of the trailers (and i know its not indie)
