This week, we’re covering games made for last weekend’s Ludum Dare, an online game development competition wherein contestants have exactly 48 hours to make a video game from scratch. Ludum Dare 18′s theme was “Enemies as Weapons”.

Remember Psi-Ops, that physics-heavy shooter from the PS2/Xbox era? And how rewarding it was picking up soldiers and throwing them at walls, explosive barrels, and each other? Man, that was great.

Wouldn’t it be great if someone developed a 2D game that capitalized on that concept, retaining that awesome sense of power and challenge while scaling it all down a bit? And then maybe added fun bullet-deflecting mechanic and a huge slime monster in the background? Man, if only.

Oh wait.
