If you, like us, enjoy yourself some indie games and have ever enjoyed yourself any Metal Gear, you absolutely owe it to yourself to know about Merry Gear Solid. The 2006 freeware parody gem by Arthur Lee (the guy behind The Underside) was adorable and hilarious and perfect, and if you haven’t played it, play it.
Great, right? Well, after three long years, the game will finally be getting a sequel next month in the form of Merry Gear Solid 2: Ghosts of Christmas Past! However, HE NEEDS YOUR HELP! KIND OF!
Lee is asking anyone capable of impersonating MGS characters (and impersonating them well) to contribute to the game. In particular, he’s still trying to find a good Otacon. He’s even given a small peek at the script to voice actors on the Voice Acting Alliance forums, and you know what? It looks exactly right.
In order to promote the search, Lee has put up a mini-trailer for the game featuring the voice acting currently in place. If you can watch this without getting even a little excited, I don’t want to know you.
If you think you’re the one for the job(s), get in touch with him by leaving a comment on his blog or posting in the thread on the VAA forums. Good luck!
