[...] Last year’s Summer of Arcade was pretty incredible. While it was no 2008 (in case you’ve forgotten, that was the year that gave us Braid, Castle Crashers, Geometry Wars 2 and Bionic Commando: Rearmed), some truly amazing XBLA games came out of it, including ‘Splosion Man and Shadow Complex, two of the Best Games Ever. So what does Microsoft have in store for Summer of Arcade 2010? Thanks to E3, we now know. [...]

Damn, you've got me on Dante. I can't argue that Capcom didn't create or hasn't been successful with the DMC series. However, the fact that Capcom dissolved Clover Studios after none of their games (including Viewtiful Joe) were financial successes means that I think i'm going to have to eat just the one hat.

Also, yeah, the Trials video in the story itself is from the 360 version, but the one I linked in the article (when I said "This video") is of Trials 2. I thought that gameplay video was a little more representative of what people should expect from the game than the action-packed, quick-cut, explosion-dense trailer for Trials HD they put out.

Get your hat ready, because you're about to eat it.
Dante from the DMC series. Other than him and maybe Viewtiful Joe, I can't think of any others, really.

I'm most excited for Trials HD (by the way, that video isn't from the PC version) and Shadow Complex. Shadow Complex looks better than a lot of full-fledged games, actually. There's really no reason to buy the TMNT remake because Castle Crashers exists. I feel sorry for anyone who buys Monkey Island on the 360 when they could be playing on the PC instead (unless they only have a Mac). I tried the demo on the 360 for shits and giggles and was really turned off by the controls. It's serviceable, yes, but if you have a PC that was built in the last decade or so, there's no reason not to buy it there.

Without a doubt, Castle Crashers was my favorite from last year. I was so excited when I bought it, and it actually didn't disappoint me. Bionic Commando was my second favorite, I just got stuck and never wanted to find out how to get unstuck, so I haven't beaten it yet. Braid, I actually never bought, but it was an amazing game from what I saw. It's just, when you see it, the magic is taken away. And finally, Geometry Wars 2, was a disapointment. Some people, like me, play their Xbox without it hooked up to the internet. If I can't save my high scores, than it's worthless to me.

I'm mostly excited for Shadow Complex and Marvel Vs Capcom 2. I already have SotN on arcade; I LOVE those types of games. There's nothing more addicting to me. And I've wanted Marvel vs Capcom 2 forever, as I love fighting games, and this one was one of my favorites back in the day.

The other games look interesting, but I don't know if I'll purchase them. Still, a great list!

Agreed. I was really hoping we'd see more things along the lines of Super Street Fighter II HD than things like this.

One of the things I've always wanted to see with things like Live Arcade and Virtual Console releases is a package purchase that includes a "classic" and "remixed" version - something that allows me to play it as it always looked and sounds, and then an option that comes with some sweet new HD action with all new art and music that still feels true to the original.

Think about the difference between Super Mario Bros on the NES and the "All-Stars" version on the SNES. Something along those lines.

I'm struck by how Reshelled looks no better than the original. It would've been nice if they'd enhanced the original sprites and added cool 2D effects instead of changing it to crappy 3D.
