Jay Pavlina, the dude who spent roughly a year developing one of the coolest Flash games ever ever ever ever, has released a couple of neat videos explaining some of the choices he had to make when building Super Mario Bros. Crossover. Check ‘em out below:

You know, what makes Super Mario Crossover so great is that it just works. Pavlina’s commentary on the small alterations he made to each character is fascinating because it’s a big part of what makes the game so fun. Ironically, it’s the stuff that he changes from the original games that make it play so naturally.

He tweeted this morning “Several journalists have contacted saying that they don’t want to mention the game in fear that too much attention could jeopardize it.” You should follow him.
Hahaha, I actually do follow him – I just started writing the post before he tweeted that an hour ago.
I might be wrong about this, but historically, has Nintendo shut down a lot of fan projects? I know Square Enix has and Bungie has, but I can’t think of any examples off the top of my head of Nintendo doing anything like that. I mean, six months later, Tuper Tario Tros. is still alive and kickin’.
