Do you like chiptunes? Do you like chiptunes artists?! Do you like chiptunes artists who we interviewed at Blip Festival?!? Then you should probably get psyched for the 8-bit Alliance Tour, one of the biggest US chiptune tours…ever, actually.
Organized (and headlined) by fantastic chip-and-guitar group Anamanaguchi, the tour also features UK 8-bit breakbeat artist Sabrepulse, the pseudo-improvisational Henry Homesweet, and eccentric beepy post-rock duo Starscream. I have taken the liberty of linking you to great songs by all four artists so you know what you’re missing if you don’t show up to the tour. You are welcome.
It all kicks off this Friday at Market Hotel in Brooklyn, but will gradually work its way down the East Coast over the next two weeks. The full dates can be found on the official (and badass-looking) 8-bit Alliance Tour site right here:

See you guys there!
Readers! Are you planning on showing up at one of the 8BA tour’s stops? Let us know in the comments!

*Sad Face* they are not swinging by Seattle :`(
Yeah, this is primarily an East Coast tour – but Anamanaguchi has played Seattle every year for the past couple (usually at PAX), so don’t lose hope!
sabrepulse and Henry Homesweet are amazing!
pls a interview and show from a gig!
and greets ash and tom ^^
Hell fucking yes! Saturday in Philly. Second time seeing Anamanaguchi. I brought Pete a big bag of cookies the first time cause I promised him I would, time to make it a tradition!
Starscream are one of my favorite live bands and Pete and Ary from Anamanaguchi are just chill dudes (I assume the other guys are too but I’ve never chatted with them). Getting over a wicked stomach virus, but I still plan on being at the Brooklyn show tomorrow night.
Had a look at sabrepulse’s stuff. And saw him live once, at the chiptune alliance tour 2008 in Glasgow (UK). He spent a large amount of time living in the town I grew up in. (Aberdeen) however his output isn’t really my cup of tea. I did get a chance to speak to him, and he was a bit taken aback when I told him I was specifically there, having come from Aberdeen specifically to see Random :P However Sabrepulse’s stuff is not my style, too hard and too fast for my liking. Random gets it just right :) .
BTW if you want a bit more info on other UK chiptune acts, have a read of this…
