The upcoming Behemoth title heretofore known only as Game 3 finally received an official name yesterday! The game has been (re?)named BattleBlock Theater, a fitting but weirdly underwhelming title after getting all comfy with Game 3. The Behemoth has also put the first full-length trailer for the game, and it looks suitably manic. Check it out here:

The game looks to be some sort of party action platformer packed to exploding with Dan Paladin’s awesome (and this time, especially minimalist) character designs.

Also worth seeing is a pretty cool BattleBlock Theater development video The Behemoth put out last summer that gives a little more insight into how the game is actually played. Apparently, you select a head shape, face, and weapon, then party up with friends and enter a huge lobby room full of “doors” representing specific levels and game modes. Check the clip out here:

The one gameplay mode they show in the video looks hectic as all hell, especially considering there are really only 4 collectibles to be grabbed in it. I almost don’t even want to know what chaos lies behind that one door with the Coin sign next to it. (Probably coins.)

By the way, the mode depicted above is apparently called “Soul mode”, which they stress is just the working title. Which I don’t get, because “Soul mode” is a pretty sweet name itself. The Behemoth: makin’ games, changin’ names.
