You read that right. The Humble Indie Bundle is probably the most interesting fundraiser we’ve ever seen; not only is it one of those pay-what-you-want deals that are so popular nowadays, you can can choose whether (and even how) the proceeds will be divided up. Meaning you could give all your money to charity, all your money to the devs, or any combination thereof. Want to give 99% to Child’s Play, 1% to the EFF, and 0% to the devs? You can totally do that, I guess.
The games you’ll get are World of Goo, Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru HD, and Penumbra Overture. All told, that’s an $80 value, but they’re letting you pay whatever you want and give the money to whoever you want to support. Not to mention that all five games are both DRM-free and playable out of the box on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Seriously rad.
Yeah, technically, you could choose to pay zero dollars, but then you’d be effectively stealing from both indie devs AND charities, putting you right at the top of Bytejacker’s People Who Are The Worst People list. (it’s totally worth it to put in “0″ as your donation price just for a second, though – you’ll see why.)
As of this writing, they’ve already raised nearly $16,000 with the bundle, and with seven days left, here’s hoping they manage to raise even more. Make your contribution by buying the Humble Indie Bundle right here.
