So I don’t know if you heard, but Terry Cavanagh’s platforming magnum opus VVVVVV finally released today. I also don’t know if you heard that it is fucking awesome and you should buy it this instant. In case you did, it’s now available for your consumption at thelettervsixtim.es for a meager $15, a pittance when you consider to the massive amounts of joy and frustration it will bring you.
However, getting shamefully less coverage is the release of PPPPPP, Magnus Pålsson (aka SoulEye)’s incredible chiptune soundtrack for the game. Upbeat, exciting, and nostalgic, the soundtrack is one of the best parts of a seriously fantastic package. Unbelievably, you can get all nine of VVVVVV‘s full-length songs, all six of its jingles, a .txt file on the process of making PPPPPP, and a couple of other kickass extras for only $4.00 on Pålsson’s website. Worth every penny.
PPPPPP can (and should) be purchased right here: http://souleye.madtracker.net/buycd.htm
Regarding those extras, I’ll leave it at this: one of them contains the word ‘twat’. Yeah.
Readers! Have you played VVVVVV yet, or at the very least, played its two-level Flash demo? What do you think? Let us know below in the comments!
