This month marks the second annual TIGJam, and this time around, they’ve opted to do casual 5-minute rants instead of hour-long panel discussions. And they broadcast the entire thing over Ustream!
The talk features the infamous Derek Yu, Danny B (who did the music for games like Canabalt, Meat Boy, and Time Donkey), and David Hellman (Braid‘s sole artist), among others. I especially dug Chris DeLeon’s discussion (at 12:25) on what kids might internalize from games like Mario Kart. Absolutely worth checking out. Check out the full video below:
Let us know your thoughts on the talks down in the comments!

Who’s the guy at 15:48? The guy who was rafting down the grand canyon. Wearing the flixel shir… ooh. Is that Adam of Adam Atomic? Is that really his last name?
It doesn’t sound like he says Adam anything.
A lovely selection of single child-men still having a hard time growing up and collectively confirming their conviction that what they’re doing is not useless. The swing bar accentuates their ape-like social environment and never ending struggle with that elusive alpha male position in the bullied nerds community. Makes me wanna hug them all. Specially the fat one.
Hehe.
You worded it pretty close to my thoughts.
Indeed… an amazing demonstration of superiority he inflicts onto them with his high frequency pull-ups at the end of the video. Chris makes a great point. Danny is sweet as a button (he’s not that fat). Adam obviously had nothing interesting to talk about so he went all existential… Disapproval and denial are so 90s, Adam ;) You’re as cool as Jon Mak during the Everyday Shooter’s overhype period. Thanks for compiling this video. I learnt a lot.
Wow. That was pretty cool! Thanks for posting this. It really makes indie developers sound more personable.
I had to pick tasty static. I am a sky roads junkie.
whoops, not supposed to go here
I was also wondering about the Grand Canyon guy… is he even a developer? What exactly is he proposing? Could he be any more vague and/or impractical?
