[..YouTube..] I….am….possessed…to vote….for…. THE MANIPULATOR.
[..YouTube..] Ha! Nice.
[..YouTube..] Hey, that’s how I do Kung-Fu too!
[..YouTube..] YEY Nice start at the year :D
keep it up :)
MertenNor
ps. sorry fore my bad english….
Webmaster the video will not load for me and I used both IE and Firefox and refreshed and even restarted my browser. please fix the problem if it is on your end.
*On that note anyone else unable to load the video?
Try Youtube, and choose the “High Quality” option under the video.
great game pics this new week in this new year, so what did you guys do for fun?
Sockpuppet: Anthony has obviously been practising his kung-fu for fun. Look at those moves.
@Justin – Sorry you’re unable to load the video. Are you getting any kind of error icon in the video box?
The sad thing is that the Manipulator that actually seems to be the best game of this Rapid Fire will not download…
Kinda weird that there was barely any mention of Spelunky’s biggest feature of all – the whole game is randomly generated. While the rough environment types stay the same, you get a completely different set of (remarkably not-random-feeling) levels put together each time you play, meaning that you have to rely entirely on skill and intuition, rather than memory.
Oh, and the one-liners that were mentioned? They indicate that you’re going into a specially themed level. The ‘Snakes? I hate snakes!’ one means the level is infested with them, and there’ll probably be at least one pit on the level with great treasures, but piles of bitey little reptiles.
Hey guys, you got the date right in the video, but the tag, the XML feed element’s title, and the “You Are Currently Watching” all say 2008!
Either way, great first Bytejacker of the year – all great games, it’s hard to choose!
[..YouTube..] Alright, my new year’s resolution is to play all games given for Free Indie of the Week before casting my vote. I’m leaning towards The Manipulator here based on eye candy.
I wonder how cool would it be to use “The Manipulator” to manipulate Thomas, and use him in Spelunky in order to kick some “angry caveman ass” and save some damsels in “distress”.
Happy new year guys.
@Michael – Nice catch! Fixed.
Am I the only one with problems downloading Manipulator ? Tried tens of times from 5 different machines…. failed.
[..YouTube..] I can’t get The Manipulator to work, the zip file isn’t opening properly. I’m running winrar and winzip and neither of them seems to work… is this happening to anyone else? I really wanna try that game.
already played spelunky and kung fu master 2…cool games.
the manipulator seems to be also a fine game…
[..YouTube..] Hey Anthony, can I get the lyrics to the Bytejacker theme song?
…
:)
BTW, Spelunky has TONS of secrets. I am so addicted to it. I can’t do anything productive. D:
Yes! Your back! Free Indie rapid fire all the way! This year is going to be great!

[..YouTube..] If you’re talking about the opening theme, it’s “Mega Love Gun,” by I KILL PXLS. You can get the lyrics on his site.
If you’re talking about the closing theme: I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE.
Bias-O-Meter=3 – The archive for Manipulator would not unpack for me, so I was unable to test the game. I really like generate levels in some game types and Seplunky is one of them. And I am terrible in kung fu games.
Judging by the gameplay flicks alone, Manipulator looks fun. Sadly I was unable to see its merit for myself otherwise it might have been closer to the top. The whole sneaking around and taking control sounds like the style for me, manipulators are right up there with masterminds after all.
Kung Fu 2 is very hard for me trying to evade everyone just running up and hugging my character to death. But I am also spoiled by the Double Dragon series later and copter kicks…
Spelunky is a game with randomly generated levels and a selection of items in which to get around the level with. The theme is good and the pixel art is well done. The game reminds me very much of Save the Beagles for its generation and simple and effective char moves and items. Nothing like sitting back and exploring a cave to plunder which is always a new cave with each try!
UPDATE:

[..YouTube..] Spelunky ordered me, manipulated me… to vote for Kung Fu II? Why… Just why, it’s not so nice in graphics like Manipulator it’s not Derek Yu game.. But it’s just klik Kung Fu! Maybe not Duel Toys but… Kung Fu!
[..YouTube..] Spelunky is the best!!!
I just thought I’d chip in my thoughts quickly.
I thought Spelunky was the best game out of the three because it has the better gameplay of the two since its got loads of secrets. Also, everyone’s moaning about the randomly generated level engine, but I think it works superbly, since you’re never bored when replaying it.
But I won’t vote for it. Voting’s wrong, guys, and you know it.
YOU FOREIGNERS AND YOUR HATRED OF DEMOCRACY.
YOU’LL VOTE AND LIKE IT.
[..YouTube..] Hmm..did you say anywhere Virtanen?
[..YouTube..] spelunky, spelunky, spelunky-lunky-lunky
lol sorry i had to say that
i looove this song!! it definitly stands out!! i LOVE JB!!
The link its broke
Please put the link again, i want play kung fu 2
thanks
