The original Darwinia was a very fun game, but I really like rts with somewhat better graphics and more varied units. **
Robokill reminds me of Smash TV which was a game I used to play because it was so much fun.I would love a two player option as well. ***
This game is wizard is like a game I never heard of before, but sounds fun. **
Golden Pearl interests me the most because I love those kinds of cartoony shooters. ****
I want to try Mighty Jill Off simply to test how difficult and near impossible the game is. ***
More stars means I like it more. This is another fine episode of Bytejacker.

Same here, at first glance I thought Robokill was a Smash TV remake.. looks nice though.
Definitely will be checking out Mighty Jill Off.

[..YouTube..] yey ^^ nice

Nice stuff! I had played Robokill, that is indeed a fun game!
Mighty Jill Off looks like it might be worth a try. It look like it had some interesting game play with the way you could kinda float like that. Need to try that one for sure.

[..YouTube..] I like. Bye
October 23rd, 2008 at 10:57 am
[..YouTube..] Wow, I completely forgot that Introversion was making a sequel to Darwinia. Awesome.
Also the show was pretty good too.

Getting some lousy frame rates on This is Wizard there. It’s a much smoother game than that and very fun. Thing is Wizard was a remake of Jumpman like Megaman was a remake of Super Mario. It did enough unique things to hold itself apart.

thursday is bytejacker time
thanks to tim that for his reminder…
so lets see what we got here….
robokill is a cool arena shooter…but on my ancient
machine its sometimes a little slow cause its flash…
this game is wizard seems also to be a cool platformer…have read about it before and putted it on my “to check out list”
you did it again anthony…entertaining episode again.
mighty jill off: of course a cool game…
i will also try golden pearl …looks very polished.
afterall…im not a big fan of rts games but maybe i will give multivania a try…

@ Kaizen - I’m with ya cause I’m not a huge fan of RTS’s either, but giving this one a run through was actually quite fun even though I got my ass kicked by the computer. There’s something about controlling your own army that makes it fun. It’s certainly NOTHING like Warcraft which is not my cup of tea, so that definitely says something. Just point them where they gotta go and let THEM decide what to do.
Thanks again for watching you guys!

I’ve really enjoyed the episodes so far. There’s some pretty good gems found. So far, Iji is one of my favorites.
Anyway, what’s going to happen next week with it being Halloween and all? Please tell me the Great Pumpkin will visit!

allright jonathan…so i think i will try the demo on the weekend and look what the game is about

You should give Multiwinia a try, it’s very accessible to non-RTS players. It manages to make strategy fun, fast and simple which I have rarely seen before. A fantastic multiplayer experience!
October 23rd, 2008 at 4:31 pm
[..YouTube..] never was a fan of this ‘winia series though I like the bold graphical statement.
Golden Pearl looks interesting but I wish you guys would link to all the games in the description as well as having them in the video. makes life easier
October 23rd, 2008 at 4:47 pm
[..YouTube..] Nicely done. would love to see your take on impossible games like I wanna be the guy
October 23rd, 2008 at 5:21 pm
[..YouTube..] Nice, you guys reviewed it MightyJillOff Awesome one guys. Haha saw my name.
October 23rd, 2008 at 8:31 pm
[..YouTube..] Hey, rorkimaru - download links and game details can all be found on our site. Youtube has a tendency to flip out if we try to link to anything that ISN’T on Youtube.
Security measure or Google being a pain in the ass? Only god can decide.
And me.
Google is being a pain in the ass.

@Meow Mix, Monkey Stick - Definitely a heavy Smash TV vibe in Robokill as far as basic mechanics, but definitely a much richer experience.
@Joe - Yeah, it seemed like no matter what software I used, Wizard just didn’t want to capture decently. I think we got it to a good enough speed where people get the feel for it.
@Evan - everyone who watches next week gets their weight in candy corn.
@Kaizen, OrR, Jon - Multiwinia is seriously accessible. I’m NOT an RTS guy by any means, but I had a lot of fun with it.

Smash TV!!!!!!!

Anthony, I love you show and eagerly await it every Thursday. This episode was the first one however which, to me, lacked something somewhat, not sure what exactly. Maybe you felt it too. I am not complaining, just pointing out. It was still worthwhile watching. Keep Going!
Your fan, Uli.

[..YouTube..] Don’t mean to sound like I’m arguing but SxePhil and others link sources and personal stuff all the time. I think YT only don’t like ad links
October 24th, 2008 at 11:10 am
[..YouTube..] Oh, I’m fully aware. I think it’s some sort of glitch with our account or a problem on our end. We’re working on it, but I wanted to let you know in the meantime that links are indeed available on our site. Thanks!
October 24th, 2008 at 12:26 pm
Yay, free candy corn! I’ll be with my weight in candy corn I could make a candy corn likeness of myself. What? You didn’t expect I’d eat that stuff.
@Uli.S - What was missing is the frames in This Game is Wizard. Okay, seriously I’m re-watching the episode and it’s got everything. Anthony wild, sometimes random-ish energy. A good assortment of games with exciting screen shots (except the a fore mentioned). Maybe I’ll go watch some old ones.
October 24th, 2008 at 12:29 pm
Great episode as always. I was really glad to see Multiwinia on here since Introversion have apparently been having a hard time getting the word out. They make great stuff, and I’d hate to see them go under because their game got ignored. There’s a demo, so if anybody’s iffy about the game, just give it a try and decide for yourself.
I’ll make sure to give Mighty Jill Off a try. It looks like my kind of game. Fairness in difficulty is a pet peeve of mine, and my favorites are ridiculously difficult games that keep it fair (Love is a good example). I want to know that I can overcome the challenges if I refine my technique that little bit more. The window dressing looks entertaining too. ^_^
October 24th, 2008 at 12:44 pm
@Uli - I switched from boxers to briefs this week. That probably contributed a lot to it.
October 24th, 2008 at 4:39 pm
Oh, man this was the coolest thing ever! Just found Bytejacker and loved it man, so keep it up!
Will be checking the other episodes now!
October 24th, 2008 at 11:11 pm
[..YouTube..] This is Dave Carter, the creator of “Golden Pearl”! Thanks for featuring the game!! It’s an honor to be on such an awesome show!! You guys rule!
October 26th, 2008 at 5:52 am
[..YouTube..] You forgot Multiwinia is also going to be available for Linux in the near future. Other than that, not a bad review.
As for the crates being unbalanced, there is the option to use “basic crates” only, which seems to satisfy people with this complaint. When this is enabled, you only get powerups that featured in the original Darwinia.
October 28th, 2008 at 8:24 am
Whoa hey, this is slowly getting professional. Crud, gotta register so I can show everyone I’ve been watching this from the get-go and boast about it!
@Anthony: Briefs, eh? Maybe you should try and go commando next time.
