poll isn’t up yet T_T
STEELERS WON STEELERS WON STEELERS WON
and i want to vote for bite the bullet because closure, while extremely original, had clunky and unresponsive controls, and assassin blue, while very fun, was just too easy.
Closure deserves a word, great idea at first, sadly bad execution, it needs graphic the style close to http://www.gd08.ch/FEIST/ (then it would be great) and it becomes completely dull when time and move focused challenges (you have not to miss a platform or jump at exact moment) start to prevail over puzzles.
Voted for Bite The Bullet.
For me, this is a no brainer. Closure is a brilliant puzzle game, and it makes getting to the end of one screen a huge task. Of course it has flaws, like any game, but its easily the best of the lot.
Also, can’t wait for Comic-Con. I might skip Thursday’s episode, I don’t have an Xbox.
YEA! Assassin Blue! No, thank you Anthony for deciding to give it some due! I really enjoyed playing it, mainly because it feels like a forgotten SNES game. The controls are wonderfully tight and it has some emotional depth to it. I was ready to vote for it last week.
I haven’t played any of those games, but on Mopsical’s suggestion I’m going to vote for closure.
No, I’m going to try closure first. That’s what I meant.
Okay, you need to look at adding the ability to edit comment.
I really want to like assassin blue. But once I got past the graphics it just didn’t control well. Plus the blatant [ATTACK!] [JUMP] [ATTACK] control for the mayor’s finish move were kinda weakened when I didn’t realize I was being given instructions and he just stood there with the word ATTACK! hanging in the air for a while. In the end I stopped playing because the game wreaked of an amateur effort. Which is probably because it was an amateur effort. And that’s fine, but if you’re going to be an amateur do your best not to look like an amateur or that’s all you’ll ever be.
All that to basically say I did vote for Closure in the end.
Bite The Bullet is the win for masochistic shooters! Screw chains and leather!
Wow, this time the pool is really hard. I love Closure: it’s an awesome mindbreak experience with a great concept and an amazing visual style. Bite the Bullet is not the best danmaku shmup of the world but it’s really funny and sometimes extremely challenging. Finally, Assassin Blue is the story about an assassin. An assassin named Blue. An assassin named Blue that looks like a musketier…. dressed blue. -_-’ However, it’s a nice game, with a colorful 2D graphic, and funny combats with simple combo and guard break system. The extra are welcome too.
BACK ON THE ROOF!!!
Assassin Blue ftw! :D The actual gameplay may not be superb, but the graphics were cute and the story moving.
banov should write novels
Bias-o-meter=3 – Assassin Blue is a web game and requires the Pogo Plugin. Bite the Bullet is a bullet hell game which I am a fan of and am good at. Closure is a flash game which makes it web based and it is found on Newsgrounds.
Assassin Blue actually reminds me of Knytt, among other platforming hackathons but that isnt to say the game is bad for it. It is a good arcade theme and this game plays itself out fairly well for it. Possibly the only gripe is it being an online game and that you need the Pogo Plugin to play.
Closure is a curious monocromatic game but considering the type of atmosphere the game is working to evoke, it does rather well and not just for the games notable mechanic, the absense of solid enviroments in the dark. It is a game that really makes you think around what you can hide in the dark in order to make use of what platforms you illuminate. Using the combination of these two, you work to get to the exit. A good concept that could be expanded to even better.
Bite the Bullet is a shooting game that just gets faster. The game isnt how you shoot the enemy though but how many enemies you can dodge the shots of. The more you dodge the better the bonus you will get and you continually power up your shots with each enemy passed without shooting at. If not for the demo video the author left, it might have been alot harder to play.
@ori – I really dug the visual style of closure. I thought it was simple an striking. Which is not to say I wouldn’t like it if EVERY game looked more like Feist, but I thought the style really fit the game.
@Joe Larson – I had a problem with the quick time events in Assassin Blue, too, but mine was of a different nature. I think you shouldn’t have infinite time to pull them off. You could literally stand there forever while it says “attack” and it wouldn’t make any difference. I’d like to see some sort of bonus for pulling the QTEs off correctly and in a specific timeframe.
@LuckyWanderDude – SHMUP FANS UNITE! You should check out some of 9_6′s other stuff. It’s awesome.
@chasofito – None of the games on the Yoyogames website require the Pogo plugin. You CAN play them in your browser if you install the plugin, but if you choose not to, every game is available as an executable.
I voted Assassin Blue. Its awesome, and I loved it from the start. ^_^
assassin blue :)
@Super-Toad – Wow, excellent but brief summary of the games. For a guy who runs a foreign language site (what language is that, Slovic?) you have an excellent command of the English.
@Anthony, this themes’ dark gray outline around black text boxes on a black background makes it a bit difficult to find where to click on a dark monitor. Fortunately I have radar installed, but I understand most non-cybernetic lifeforms don’t have that option.
@Joe Larson – it’s Italian hence the .it at the end of the site ;)
That would have been my third guess.
As sockpuppet said I’m Italian.
Thank you for the kudos but it’s not really true :D I hope I’ll improve my english (so I can write more articulated stuff :P ).
havent really been payin attention to the website lately but havent missed an episode. when you guys gonna get back outside? the bytejacker logo floating around in the background is kinda getting boring. actually its probably really cold. inside settings?
@Cecil – Tune in Monday!
monday come on!
monday come on!
monday come on!
monday monday come on!
After much deliberation, I decided to vote for Closure. These days, it’s really hard to come up with original concepts, and while Closure isn’t entirely original, (think Echochrome), it’s close enough to be outstanding.
P.s. If you makes you feel any better Anthony, I got all the way to round 12 in Bite the Bullet, and I too am a braindead monkey.
GOD DAMNIT, JON. IT’S A SECRET BALLOT, JON.
Looks like the kid is watching some old episodes. What’s the matter, man? Weren’t you with the show from the beginning?
