So now you all know the true cause of the delay this week: I’m so wrapped up in myself I don’t even notice when my friends disappear. I should’ve known he was trying to tell me something important when he left 18 messages.
Gradius Rebirth: Wii, Shmup, Konami, $10

Frontline Defense Beta 2: Flash, RTS, kazama_bee – LINK

Remember to call in or leave a video comment for next week’s special “Best Downloadable Puzzle Games” episode!

HELLA YEA :)
ps first :p
HAHA!
Carboni, you truly are awesome.
Agh, just when i found some ammo for my shotgun! Well, i have it prepared for the next delay>
T H E best episode ever… I however vote against all simply don’t like any of the games, Days 2 Die isn’t bad, and when i tried it yesterday i only played for may be 2 minutes – first the way your character moves, second – who the hell gives you money all the time you kill some one and who needs money for guns when there are zombies all around, anyway the voting is not available to me (i have no idea why).
Really like the start :D Mr. Carboni, you rule! Anyhow, I liked the Bloody Fun Day. “What would Death himself do if he were surrounded by ultra-cute critters? Kill them, of course!”
Hm…this is double posted (my bad, sometimes I’m really Internet-challenged)
Hahaha, amazing intro! (but poor Jon :P)
Bloody Fun Day gets my vote. It’s the only one that isn’t repetitive/feels old.
Man Bytejacker is full of a bunch of 8-bit fags. Schizophrenzy is a great twist on the platforming genre while Don’t Look Back is just another overrated 8-bit game.
I’d vote for Gradius Rebirth if I could. :|
Great video, as usual!
Even all alone, Anthony can do everything by himself, even if it’s delayed a bit. ;)
There’s still something I don’t really enjoy: the worst game you’ve ever played thingy. I mean, Bytejacker is NOT sarcasticgamer right? I’d rather see people comment on what they loved to play as a indie game rather than bashing games very few actually played for real. Although your opinion on E.T. was actually an interesting analysis. Well I’m glad this question doesn’t come out every time (I admit I find user’s comments rather uninteresting to tell the truth)
Kudos to you Anthony, you bring a smile upon my face every weeks!
@smecky your broken english is much obliged friend :) I’m shore anthony will understand everything anyway :) If it wasn’t for us 3rd world country folk watching this show, who the hell would :) Obviously I have had too much beer for tonight, so good night to everyone and greetz from Serbia!!!!!!!
Good job flying solo! But where is that Old West picture? I’ve never seen it there. Did you rummage through their stuff? Creepy.
…I just won’t vote this week, sadly none of the games are my cup of tea.
Best Downloadable Puzzle Game, eh? Probably good old Hexxagon.
Many thanks for getting the episode out there despite Jon’s absense. Hilarious intro by the way.
I’d have to agree about this 8-bit trend starting to appear on WiiWare. It’s great in it’s own way, but I feel there’s so much potential in combining some aspects of that era’s visual style with modern technology. I think Darwinia was a fantastic exploration of that concept, even if it was leaning more towards the modern than the retro.
Great episode! Looking forward for downloadable puzzle games next week. I would send in a suggestion, but the only puzzler i play these days is Tetris (or to be more preise, the only video game i play these days is Tetris).
@sockpuppet
so true.
лолз
hey everyone if you like gradius try this awesome freeware version http://www.geocities.jp/takascience/haskell/monadius_en.html
Dude,
Has anyone else seen that our host Mr Anthony Carboni is the host of the DICE.com commercials?
Saw him today on AppleInsider which had a video ad for DICE on it..
Thought you were more Indie than that Anthony!? :-P Did you find your ‘best job ever?’
@samara – It’s hanging up over their bed.
@sockpuppet – Nice call on Monadius.
@Matthew Rathbone – Shut up! That stuff is live already? They didn’t tell me!
Yeah, Jon and I are working on a web series for them.
I gotsta get PAID, son.
Where’d you see it? It’s not on the front page of AppleInsider.

@Anthony, I just saw it on some random link I followed from hackernews. Good to see you’ve made a well-timed tweet to let peeps know about it. hehe.
Now when are we going to have the day when Jon has to run the show solo?
@Matthew – Thanks for letting me know!

Haha, hilarious.
Oh, and as for the puzzle thing: http://www.binaryzoo.com/games/duotris/index.htm
Duotris.
Yeah.
Another great video! You guys always do such a fantastic job!
As for the Best Downloadable Puzzle Game I gotta say that without a doubt it is Blocksum. I find it to be very original and fast paced, an interesting mix of arithmetic and block elimination which is very difficult to put down.
Okay, I’m really struggling with this weeks topic because in the history of “downloadable” becomes too vast. What about all those apogee games in the early 90s, late 80s? What about all the freeware hacks of more popular games. You know there’s a freeware version of Lumines for the PSP. That should count, shouldn’t it?
All this being said I have to go with a game I made myself. It’s not flashy or pretty (yet) but it’s a lot of fun taking tetris and making it franticly fast. It’s called alleytris and you can download it here : http://www.cymonsgames.com/alleytris
Hey, games by binary zoo are indeed fun, but try this: http://www.pulpgames.net/milpa/ ,my favourite browser puzzle game.
