PS. sorry for my bad english..
I’ve played Pandora’s Gearbox a few days ago and I’ve really enjoyed it.
It has no replay value, but the whole idea is brilliant.
Best regards,
Red
My god, that was great!!! And you look taller now, oh wait…
Also IMPORTANT: your site makes abode reader 8 plug-in crash every time I visit it, it started since you had this 50c something picture and site closed for maintenance … I don’t know whether it is just me or.
Ah Carboni, you got an honest to goodness LOL out of me today. Your delivery is like distilled funny juice. Please stop being so mean to Jon though, it makes me sad.
i can not play the video. the video loads to the end, but does not start. i even disabled adblock plugin and refreshed. no luck.
I voted for Thrustburst, for its retro look and at the same time very nice details. I however would like to note that Nevermore 3 is beautiful however lacks motivation in big way, it has nice setting yet by itself it wasn’t enough for me, anyway I finished it. And Pandora’s Gearbox is a great idea with not so great execution, just a small twist could make it a great game.
the video started after refreshing few time and only after the full video was cached. wierd.
I have no idea why our site would even be CALLING the Adobe Reader plugin, let alone making it crash.
That is WEIRD.
Anthony, I think your wordpress files might have been compromised. If you look at the source of this page, there’s a huge amount of links that have been added to the footer. You need to make sure you’re using the latest version of WordPress, as they’re constantly fixing vulnerabilities like this. I’m not sure if this explains the Adobe Reader plugin problem (which I also experienced), but I thought it was worth pointing out.
Nevermore 3!
Bytejacker, you guys kick ass!
Looking into it further, it would appear there is code injection going on that’s causing a Flash file and a PDF file to be loaded from http://94.247.2.195/news/?id=2 and http://94.247.2.195/news/?id=3 (I don’t advise clicking on either link)
Both are using vulnerabilities in their plugins to execute malicious code, although it’s not clear what it does. It’s most likely a trojan of some sort.
@BenH – Gold star, dude! Thanks! Got it… whatever hacked us last week threw some base64 encoded stuff into our footer that I wasn’t seeing on my lookthrough. I removed it, and we SHOULD be good now.
Let me know if you’re still getting errors, guys.
The PDF/Flash malware problem is still there, you’ll need to edit the following file:
http://www.bytejacker.com/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js
Remove the entire line which starts with “Document.write” as thats the code that’s injecting that crap into the webpage
thanks for the trojans anthony :P
ps the video wouldn’t load same shiz fuxter said, i had to watch on youtube, the horror :/
Okay, removed it.
No clue why some people aren’t getting the video to load… I’ve watched it on a couple different systems, networks, and browsers today and I can’t replicate the error.
Sorry, guys. I’ve got some airport downtime so I’m going to try to look into it.
I’m on google chrome and the adobe (reader?) plugin crashed on me too.
Also, the video starts after it has been fully cached.
Anthony, there’s another line of code at the very bottom of http://www.bytejacker.com/wp-content/plugins/seesmic-wp/seesmic-wp.js which is still adding the PDF/Flash stuff. It’s the Document.write line again.
I’ll look through the rest of the javascript stuff that’s used on this page, and see if I can find any more instances of it.
Oh, and there’s another one in http://www.bytejacker.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-polls/polls-js-packed.js?ver=2.40 It’s also at the end like the one I posted above. I can’t seem to find any more, so that should be the last of them hopefully. The permissions of those folders might need to be changed to prevent external sources writing to them again, or it could be that your host itself has been infected.
I loved the coverage of Eliss.
..but Steph Thirion is a guy, not a girl. :)
So is “Oh Sh”[run opening] going to become a thing? On an earlier comment I censored you for using language, so I should be opposed to this, but it’s funny as h….
Who’s that chick with the nerdy hello kitty shirt? Did you just find her there or should I recognize her from somewhere else? She did a really good job for ya.
Oh, and there was cloud computing discussion at GDC. Did you not see people wetting themselves over OnLive. (Please let’s not discuss this here.)
No discussion topic soliciting for video comments? You must still not be settled with the move. it looks like you’re really in San Francisco. Did you really go for the GDC a week late (I find it hard to believe you didn’t know it was going on)?
Oh, the games this week…
Nevermore 3 – Not as “explorational” (just made that word up) as knytt, not by a long shot. But brilliantly atmospheric and artistic out the wazoo. Short, I think I finished it in a half an hour and in the course switched hats 3 times.
Pandora’s Gearbox – I’m familiar with this guys work before. His games are original and difficult and Pandora’s Gearbox is no exception. Still, there’s something satisfying about poking a stick into a black box and having it react the way you’d expect.
Thrustburst – While I’m impressed with folks making one switch games, and while this is probably the most robust version of that helicopter game I’ve ever seen… I just have a hard time getting excited about this one.
3 wildly different games, I’d have to go with Nevermore. I just liked it the most.
(Wow, that’s an awful lot of comment there.)
Another great episode guys, so thanks.
Oh, and Knytt is pronounced ‘Knight’ according to Nifflas, despite common misconception of it being ‘Nit’.
Soooo… as the dust settles on a trip out of town, a serious site compromise, video caching issues, and a move to a new place, I am now ready to talk about this episode.
What do you mean the new episode comes out tomorrow?!
hey norton is still blocking some kind of virus when I go to this page, just giving a heads up, peace
Still getting notices about things being blocked from that site BenH linked too, looks like there’s still some malicious links round, this one was to …/?id=101
Sorry, guys.
We’re aware of the problem and working on it.
screw the virus, we want more episodos!
The virus will screw you.
gotcha.
