Psychonaughts gets my choice for funniest game, easily. There’s too many funny parts to only name one. IT’s a game everybody should play.
Oh, man… I LOVED Psychonauts. One of the things I looked forward to most after clearing a level was running around the camp and hearing all the new conversations people were having. Such a great game.

I actually think this week’s vote is a little unfair because Sword Calibre is easily the best game of the three. Knightfall might be more refined, but even that doesn’t compensate the fact it’s not as good.
Funniest game? Well… while there were some games that really wanted to be funny, I usually didn’t enjoy them (Psychonauts was trying too hard, Super Paper Mario wasn’t trying hard enough). The game I’m playing that makes me laugh the most lately? Team Fortress 2.
I think everyone believes that their favorite candidate for FIOTW is “way better” than the others. Even I still think that there’s no way my favorite could ever lose every week– but the results just about always surprise me.
Re: Team Fortess – I agree. Any game where you get a bunch of your friends together and messing around with each other is going to be funnier than anything anyone can manufacture.
Oh wow, I completely forgot about Conker’s Bad Fur day! Gregg the grim reaper is to this day one of my favourite characters in any game.

Love the new website. The comment bar at the top of the page is sweet! My only complaints so far are that the bars above the comment box don’t scroll along with the text, thus you’re typing on the actual webpage, and that the titles are in a different font on the previews (like the submit button) and I think that needs to be fixed. Everything else is so well designed, though.
I hate to say this, but the funniest game I’ve ever played is Strong Bad. Sam and Max just doesn’t get me as well as that. I’ve never played Psychonauts. Maybe I should.

I just tried “Ben There, Dan That,” and I’d vote for it too. It’s an awsome loveletter to all the classic adventure games and it’s an indie (bonus points!). You have to try it and if you don’t put it on a show the second one’s coming out soon.
The funniest game I’ve ever played came out fairly recently. It’s a game by the name of “Eat Lead” and it’s laugh out loud hilarious. It makes references back to old games like Wolfenstein that we all know and love. Definitely rent it though because the gameplay feels a little cheap and the game is short.
West thought the old Leisure Suit Larry games were funny and we both agreed that the host of You Don’t Know Jack was hilarious. YDNJ was much better than many of the trivia games populating the Wii and other consoles and it did it without pictures. Amazing.
Hmm, funniest game is a hard pick. I’d say my top three are Day of the Tentacle, The Curse of Monkey Island, and Kingdom of Loathing. Hmm… here’s my mini-comments on what make all three awesome.
DoTT: Time travel, sentient tentacles, insane characters, the IRS agents, three playable protagonists with distinct personalities. (Rocker, nerd, and psychotic.)
CoMI: Lactose-intolerant volcano god, pirate barber-shop quartet (and their song “A Pirate I was meant to be”). Oh yes, and Mr Fossey, first mate of the monkey pirate ship.
KoL: Sabre-tooth lime. Playable classes include Turtle Tamer, Accordian Thief. Metahumour. The in-game currency is meat.
It’s a tough choice, but I think Day of the Tentacle wins. There’s just so many hilarious characters and witty dialogues.

Funny how most people first think of adventure games when they think about funny games in general. I did too, one of the funniest games i played was Out Of Order, a freeware adventure game.
Also, Bernie’s games are funny as hell too, especially the Kitty trilogy (AGWAK, AGWAK 2 and Stargirl).

Hmm funniest game. Well that would have to be Discworld 2 on… numerous platforms. Eric Idle debating with a monkey on how to disarm a bomb, Death reciting Shakespear while getting repeatedly knocked unconscious, Skeleton’s doing a song and dance routine about how great it is to be dead, and of course you can’t forget having to insert an ice cube in your nether regions to fool a mortician into thinking you’ve snuffed it.

The funniest game I’ve played is a weird PC game called “Total Distortion.” The humor is incredibly 90s-ish, but that’s when I played it so…yeah.
If you haven’t played the game, look it up on the Youtubes. The game over screen in this game is the BEST GAME OVER SCREEN EVER!

My funniest game has to be Grim Fandango. I’m a sucker for dry, dead-panned humour, and that was basically what Fandango was all about. It helps that the voice acting was as superb as it was too.
Rockabilly Head is my Indie of the Week. It’s got a fresh and cool art style which fits perfectly with the wierdo plot and gameplay. Double thumbs up for both a win and a mac version!
Funniest game ever is King Kong for the Xbox btw. Humping rope and having your mate run straight into a wall ensuring you “I’m coming” is hillarious.

Clearly I’m going to have to go with some games others haven’t said, because I’m quite contrarian.
I’m split between The Neverhood and Portal. One game with almost no talking and mostly physical humor, and the other which is almost entirely narration. Though I may be biased about the Neverhood due to my love of claymation. Really there were SO MANY adventure games which I found hilarious, it’s hard for me to make distinctions between them all.

Funniest Game? I can’t remember any games made to be funny… Maybe my brain is just weird that way. Tokyo Beatdown just came out for the DS though, and it has some amusing situations/dialogue. Can’t go wrong with a main character named Lewis Cannon who thrashes citizens for a Dine and Dash.
Also!: Sword Calibre for the gold, hands down. I might be biased since I’m Chinese though.

Okay–cannot let this episode go by without mentioning EARTHBOUND as a great funny game. While the intent was rarely direct comedy, there were still innumerable funny situations and the whole game has a very unique, humorous tone about it.
and yet it moves just seems like a basic platformer with turning puzzles. Sorry but I’m not going to buy a platformer I can get better free ones.
