Wow, a singing video comment. That’s a first.
Not too shabby… but I think you were a bit off. Were you singing in Eb minor or was that F# major?
that’s one nice looking park ^^
That’s no park, that’s the sculpture garden of the Carboni Estate.
it’s damn slippery, that estate. guess it was built in the world of goo.

The most difficult game I’ve beaten would be a specific song on Guitar Hero. I had troubled with Hangar 18 for the solos at the end. I tried to beat that one song on expert for about once or twice a day 4 weeks. I finally beat it and it and other songs then seemed really easy.
Beautiful, doing this show in the park. Funny thing is it messes with the youtube compression and everything becomes fuzzy. Heh, YouTube sucks.
Heck of an episode. Man, didn’t even have time for a commercial release, or was there just nothing worth reviewing? I suppose with E3…oop, sorry Anthony. Well, at least you have the park.
Sorry, I don’t like any of the three games this week. =<
But I know what game I was proud of beating the most! Z.

Seriously, have you played it? It’s tough.
Here, a gameplay video of Z:

Hey Sebastian,
I’m not sure why it’s not loading for you. We’ll look into it. It works fine here for me, I’m using firefox. What browser are you using? If anyone else is having problems please let us know and we’ll look into it.
In the meantime you’re welcome to check it out on youtube if you like. Youtube.com/bytejacker
Sorry for the inconvenience
It’s now working, and firefox is my browser.
No inconvenience here.
Great episode.
God of War {seesmic_video:{“url_thumbnail”:{“value”:”http://t.seesmic.com/thumbnail/bc0AdQOsWt_th1.jpg”}”title”:{“value”:”God of War ”}”videoUri”:{“value”:”http://www.seesmic.com/video/z3w7FsbGpM”}}}
Oh man, I had completely forgotten about that part! I’m proud (or maybe ashamed) to say I beat God of War in God mode, but that part made it extremely difficult. I was up until 5am trying to win that battle and then the one with Ares. I beat the game as the sun was coming up, and I couldn’t do my victory dance because I’d wake up everyone else in the house.
Have you played God of War 2? That game is crazy difficult in Titan Mode. There were a couple of fights I literally spent weeks on.
Daleks Rap. Just something I thought of doing, it’s stupid. {seesmic_video:{“url_thumbnail”:{“value”:”http://t.seesmic.com/thumbnail/qVGhXKCOmc_th1.jpg”}”title”:{“value”:”Daleks Rap. Just something I thought of doing, it’s stupid. ”}”videoUri”:{“value”:”http://www.seesmic.com/video/qgxswArNs0″}}}
I would totally comment on your rap if I could understand what he was saying :)

hey uh… your link to your facebook page points to your gamerdrome. don’t know if that’s intentional, but it’s cruel and vindictive…
the game i’m most proud of beating is definitely Diablo 1, which i first played at the tender age of 10. That game was EVIL.
Another great episode as always, guys, of course! I’m always hyped about Thursdays as it means I get to watch the new episode. Sounds lame, but yeah, it’s the truth.
Anyway, I made a video response, just as I did for the question before last. I would of made a video comment for the last question, too, but I just simply didn’t get around to it.
And in a strange way, I was quite thrilled to see that my last video comment was put into the episode. I know it’s not particularly special, but I was still really quite happy, so thanks. :D
Anyway, keep up the good work and I can’t wait for future episodes!
Thanks so much for your video comments, we love getting them. Glad you’re liking the show, tell your friends ;) If you can believe it we’re coming up on our one year birthday! ZOMG! ;)
La-Mulana, I fucking /cried/ when I beat that game. It was the hardest, most gut-wrnechingly hard game I’ve ever played.
Feed the last guardian a barrel? I must have missed that part in the trailers. (EDIT: Just re-watched it. Man, looks like feeding them barrels is pretty central gameplay mechanic. Could ruin the whole thing.)
The boys loved seeing themselves in the video. And their game won by more than 50% while my game was last! Boys can pick ‘em. Maybe I’ll try again this week and see what they pick. Only I won’t record the wind up this time.
Next time, tho, I’m going to have to watch the episode it first to see how many beeps you get before I let the boys watch it. Hmm?
If they accurately pick the winner three times in a row, take them to the race track.
Well, so far I showed my son all the games and his pick was…
“The Ivory game.”
At least he’s pronouncing it right this time.
No question, Super Smash Bros. Melee {seesmic_video:{“url_thumbnail”:{“value”:”http://t.seesmic.com/thumbnail/jcVLeLyVO0_th1.jpg”}”title”:{“value”:”No question, Super Smash Bros. Melee ”}”videoUri”:{“value”:”http://www.seesmic.com/video/jO4ev9TkAS”}}}
Oh crap! I put on my high voice there!
I would have to say I’am the most proud of beating .Hack because it was a very long game and was the game that took me the second most amount of time to beat. Love that game.
i wish i could say it was something a bit more hardcore. {seesmic_video:{“url_thumbnail”:{“value”:”http://t.seesmic.com/thumbnail/4rVGpalXjR_th1.jpg”}”title”:{“value”:”i wish i could say it was something a bit more hardcore. ”}”videoUri”:{“value”:”http://www.seesmic.com/video/9cU4KIHKDJ”}}}

I am most proud of beating Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup (DSCK of Xom) without save scumming.

Funny must watch it now or die
In Chaser, score =/= progress. Read lower comments at http://www.indiegames.com/blog/2009/05/freeware_game_pick_chaser_shad.html#comments if you want to be spoiled about what the game really is.
Chaser is now my pick. {seesmic_video:{“url_thumbnail”:{“value”:”http://t.seesmic.com/thumbnail/ohi7c2nT71_th1.jpg”}”title”:{“value”:”Chaser is now my pick. ”}”videoUri”:{“value”:”http://www.seesmic.com/video/UOaqq1gTpP”}}}

Hey, it finally worked!
After a couple of false starts the first of a couple of videos of my kids playing Ivory Springs with me is up. Let me know what you think of it in the comments.

This week my vote goes to bullet time because like synso the game is challenging and but enjoyable
The game I was most proud of beating was Ghosts ‘n Goblins that game was so difficult that it made all future games seem easy for a long time. I eventually finished Ghoul ‘n Ghosts and Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts. Also some people believe Demon Crest is difficult and after playing any of the above games it would make most games nowadays seem easy. I only died three times before I beat Demon Crest, but it took me over fifty lives for the Ghost ‘n Goblins. I’d rather play Demon’s Crest over any of the above games anytime.
I’m a fan of Brophy, he makes pretty unique zany games. Takashiwa was fun and perplexing in the kind of way that made me want to keep playing, and it gets my vote.
Game I was most proud of beating…? It had to be Ocarina of Time. It was huge, epic, and at the end I couldn’t help but feel proud of the good I’d done for Hyrule. I don’t think anything has ever quite given me quite the same amount of accomplishment since then; the only games that come close were other Zelda titles.
Anthony, why don’t you answer my e-mails? Please delete my recent Gamerdrome videos (three lightmares and ASB on hard). Fliggo sucks.
Ya Anthony?
I don’t know what’s up with the gamerdrome right now. We’re working on it. As requested I deleted your last 4 vids. I’ve been having the same problem as well.
Users should be able to delete their videos.
So is there something wrong with gamerdrome? I’ve got a video I uploaded and nothing’s happened yet.
Slao, we should also be able to see what videos have been uploaded by user.
What’s currently wrong with Gamerdrome (Fliggo, to be precise): it speeds up video, it shifts audio, it can’t import a video from YouTube properly, it treats incomplete imports as finished, it doesn’t allow to delete a video after it’s done horrible things with it, it doesn’t send end-of-processing notifications, status bars are unreliable, it isn’t YouTube. Phew.
Also, videos with non-standard aspect ratios are cropped when they are embedded.
Above one of the “problems” with gamerdrome listed was that it wasn’t youtube.
Well of course it’s not youtube, you greenhorn. That’s the point. No 10 minute limits. Also it’s not vimeo. This is better than both of them.
So it’s got some kinks to iron out. It’s new. What’d you expect? I have absolute faith in Anthony and Jon fixing this up and I plan to support it 100%.
That was irony, you mature, experienced man :). I will continue to upload videos to Gamerdrome too (just to keep the guys “floored”). The kinks, however, aren’t Gamerdrome-specific, they are bugs of Fliggo (the hosting), so Anthony and Jon can’t really do much about them. Let’s pray to the Fliggo gods.
They can keep in contact with who they need to, keep them appraised of the problems, let them know what their users need, research others who may have had similar problems with fliggo and how they solved it. There’s a lot Anthony and Jon can do.
By the way, it’s been more than 24 hours trying to process the video I uploaded. I assume that means there’s something wrong.
My videos were processed in under 15 minutes, but all of them were short.
Concerning the import bug: when the uploader encounters an error during the transfer, a popup message appears, but the transfer continues. If you get an error during import from YouTube, close the upload page before the transfer is finished, else you’ll get a corrupt video!
Sorry, guys, I was out of town this weekend for a family event.
I’m sorry about the problems you’ve been having with Gamerdrome. I’m in contact with Fliggo and they’re working on it. They’re a fledgling service and are doing their best to work out all the kinks. They’ve been great so far and I have every faith that they’ll be updating their platform quickly and often.
Good to know, Anthony. I’ve just found Fliggo’s feedback forum (tab on the left), and I’m gonna move there lest I flood the episodes’ comments with bug reports.
Also, hooray! I worked around the import bug by downloading the YouTube video and uploading it through the default interface.
Fliggo’s feedback is really cool. Everyone gets 10 vote that you can up the rank of other ideas or use to promote your own. It really gives a democratic sense of being involved with the development process. Whether they check it out or ignore it we’ll find out, but it’s a liberating system. I suggest everyone go check it out for the good of the gamerdrome!
http://fliggo.uservoice.com/pages/1060-general
Honestly, Jon and Anthony, I think you need to promote this idea, maybe even mentioning it in this week’s video. Then again, it could just be the fact that it’s 10:30 at night and I’m tired talking.
Please make a ‘Bytejacker comments’ feed in addition to the existing Bytejacker feed. I want to keep up with the discussion without constantly updating the page.
I meant ‘reloading the page’.
That’s another good idea. Man, you’re full of them.
They’re using a wordpress backend so it was easy for me to construct the link:
http://bytejacker/comments/feed/
And, yes it works. Feel free to use it yourself. Jon and Anthony, there’s the URL you need to give folks a comment feed. That’s brilliant.
Thanks, and the working link is actually http://bytejacker.com/comments/feed/
Good idea, dude! I’ll add it to the subscribe page and somewhere at the bottom of the comments section here.
“Good idea, dude!”
Can you actually use if your from the east coast?
What is this bytejacker comments coming toooooooo!
i voted bullet time ’cause its the first game ive played that isnt a metroid game thats made me want to better myself as a gamer, im not usually a shooter person but this just did it for me 5/5
Had to be Devil May Cry on Hard mode. By the time I finished the last boss, I was sweating frickin’ bullets. Great game.
Nicely done, I never finished it on hard mode. You’ve definitely got some game.
Sorry for the stumbling.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSjCLd50L5I&feature=related the best song ever!
I’m so proud to beat Chessmaster (16 level) for Nintendo 8 bits when I was a kid. Snif.
Sorting bug: on the main page of Gamerdrome I select “Sort by: Most views”, click “2″ on the bottom, second page of “Most recent” videos appears. When I change the order to “Most views” again, first page of most viewed videos appears.
Not so obvious (mis?)feature: I can rate my videos. Nice, but abusable.
True story: I’m bad at video games. {seesmic_video:{“url_thumbnail”:{“value”:”http://t.seesmic.com/thumbnail/BAZZ6cpSfi_th1.jpg”}”title”:{“value”:”True story: I’m bad at video games. ”}”videoUri”:{“value”:”http://www.seesmic.com/video/yoegvpJmuN”}}}
You shook whose hand?
Okay, I’m amazed and a little jealous.
It may not seems so hard but when I finished it I was so happy and proud it was my favorite game “Diablo II:expansion Lord of Destruction”
Also I felt the same with “Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos”
Timelapses and machinimas deserve separate categories on Gamerdrome.
Answer to this week’s question: Battletoads.
Jon,
“Please delete my four Uberleben videos. I uploaded the longer playthroughs (or should I say fallthroughs?) of v3.0 on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=57812A4C0064F425) but I don’t want to upload them to Gamerdrome yet because they look ugly in the current Fliggo quality.”
I sent this e-mail to jon@bytejacker.com (which is, by the way, mentioned on the Facebook page but not on the About page) 20 hours ago.
Patience sir, I’ve been working and haven’t had a chance to get my e-mail. I deleted all 4 vids for you. Thanks for the heads up on the e-mail, I’ll get to that just as soon as I’m done with the episode this week. We’re busy guys.
http://bytejacker.fliggo.com/video/SgKeGObK
Busy. Uh-huh.
Spelunky, by Derek Yu, is the game I am most proud of beating. It’s one of the only games I’ve completed fully, and it took me 719 deaths, but dang that game felt good finally beating!
Beating La Mulana with minimal hp was my ultimate moment of victory. It also felt really good to beat it for the first time, having not used guides at all during the game. that would’ve ruined the feeling. But yeah, minimal hp run of La Mulana. Cruel as hell, I tell you, but also satisfying.
Chaser is possibly my favourite game ever.
This developed-in-12-hours-game has sucked ~6 hours of my life away. I have no explanation for this.
Most proud of beating:
Metal Gear Solid for PS1
Half Life for PC
I am most proud of completing, and I mean COMPLETE (as in 100% finished, everything done), Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2. These are also the games that turned me into the hardcore gamer I am today.
