First a mention on indiegames.com, now this… Thanks. And yes, you’ve pronounced my nickname in the funniest way possible (Murphy’s law). It’s or-toh-SLON (like Gamerdrome).
I’ve got new stuff on my YouTube channel, but I’m kinda afraid to upload it on Gamerdrome. I’ll try to if you promise to delete videos that don’t survive The Transcoder of Death as soon as possible.
On the latest announcement: does Fliggo store the originals of uploaded videos? If it doesn’t, we should step forward and upload the originals of videos with sync errors somewhere and leave the links for the support guys. Like this: http://bytejacker.fliggo.com/video/tenHQl51

As always, great new episode. I checked out this website earlier today because I was hoping the new episode was up, but I guess I got online before it did. Oddly enough, I didn’t even know what to do until the next episode came up.
Love the footage of the videos on Gamerdrome, specifically of Ortoslon’s stuff as I’ve seen some of his videos on Youtube previously.
Always love Free Indie Rapid Fire, yet unfortunately it seems that I’ve already seen/played/downloaded most of the ones featured as I check out pretty much everything daily. Still, I get to vote on it and occassionally there’s games which I’m oblivious to.
Anyway, I’ve already made a response to this week’s question which seems of become almost ritual for me now. Shame that my webcam is totally rubbish.
Looking forward to next week’s episode!
The worst game I’ve ever received as a gift is chess.
The worst game I received as a gift was Tony Hawk 4 and I got it for the PS1 instead of the PS2 (because my grandma didn’t know the difference). I was a huge fan of the franchise at the time and this one was a huge letdown. It was AWFUL!!!
I can’t believe you had footage for radar rat race. That’s just awesome. And a good star screen dodge there.
Anthony, you’re an a actor. Don’t look at the screen when you’re recording. I actually really dig the webcam back and forth this week. I did like the style.
Thanks Joe, it actually turned out pretty well. It was a crappy rainy week all week this week and we’ve both been very busy. Glad you dug the web cam theme, figured since we were giving one away, it was appropriate.
Nevermind. Here goes!
from Jonathan from California {seesmic_video:{“url_thumbnail”:{“value”:”http://t.seesmic.com/thumbnail/m9lF5GORAv_th1.jpg”}”title”:{“value”:”from Jonathan from California ”}”videoUri”:{“value”:”http://www.seesmic.com/video/ZAAFw0rhHL”}}}
Hey Jonathan, how do you spell your last name? I want to make sure I spell it right. Tong? Tung?
Good news everyone! Gamerdrome easily swallows videos that were chewed by YouTube. However, the importer is unreliable, so if your video is longer than three minutes, download it from YouTube (I use a Firefox plugin, but there’s more than one way to do it), then upload it to Gamerdrome. The quality is almost the same as if you’d upload a less compressed file.
AUDIENCE
What does that mean?
ORTOSLON
I’m copying loads of videos to Gamerdrome!
Loud applause and cheering.
Some of the videos got stuck as I tried to cram down too much. Admins, can you see the processing queue of Gamerdrome?
Back in the late 80′s, I asked my parents for an NES for Christmas, pretty much just because I wanted to play Super Mario Bros., which was included with the normal NES. My dad decided that nothing was too good for his boy, and dropped the extra cash for the deluxe set with a R.O.B. robot.
That was a pretty sad Christmas, playing Gyromite and Duck Hunt, trying to look happy for the sake of my dad.
Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly {seesmic_video:{“url_thumbnail”:{“value”:”http://t.seesmic.com/thumbnail/huFqalWdG0_th1.jpg”}”title”:{“value”:”Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly ”}”videoUri”:{“value”:”http://www.seesmic.com/video/CfclkmXsd3″}}}
Worst game I’ve ever played?Pimp my Ride on the Xbox360. Everything about the game was just awful. Very repetitious, very boring.
Worst game ever received as gift: Garry’s Mod 10
No, I’m not kidding. I love editors and sandbox games, but I really can’t stand it when they go too far, so I had no idea what to do with GM10. I still don’t, by the way. Everyone says you can do amazing things with it, but it’s kind of like… Little Big Planet or Second Life; I just don’t SEE anything great. I’d rather make more levels for Lode Runner or Warcraft 2, sorry. =P
I loved Amagon, jerk.
the worst i ever got was Digimon Battle Spirit 2. This was my first GBA game, so it ruined my memory of the gba. They gave me that game because they knew i was asian, so the common asian stereotype is that we sit in our rooms watching either pokemon, digimon, or Yu-Gi-Oh.
I played Cat Gets 100 Stars last week and I really liked it. Unfortunately it’s just one level. To whoever made it I say: make more! :)
Am I the only one who thinks that yellow graphical smileys don’t fit the theme?
Ortoslon, I’d have to agree on the comment regarding the emoticons. Still, I suppose it’s not exactly too important and I’m not sure creating ones that fit the website’s theme would be worth it.
Disabling graphical smileys would be easy and painless considering how rarely they are used here.
mario kitty {seesmic_video:{“url_thumbnail”:{“value”:”http://t.seesmic.com/thumbnail/1vaDY7YkcT_th1.jpg”}”title”:{“value”:”mario kitty ”}”videoUri”:{“value”:”http://www.seesmic.com/video/GoylazDyQu”}}}
I didn’t see a strong resemblance to Mario in that game at all actually, seeing as that Mario hasn’t got simply one animation. The only resemblance I see is that they’re both platformers.
Play mario 1. This game is a total rip off of mario. Box smashing, running and jumping, but that’s not a bad thing.
Mario Party 8 {seesmic_video:{“url_thumbnail”:{“value”:”http://t.seesmic.com/thumbnail/H8pnwjFzSl_th1.jpg”}”title”:{“value”:”Mario Party 8 ”}”videoUri”:{“value”:”http://www.seesmic.com/video/lupI34hXRj”}}}

Das Uberleben 3.1 is out, have you tried it? The major new feature is level spin.
I tried gathering people to play with me, but I didn’t like it because the camera doesn’t let parachuters get too far from each other.
Yup, 3.1 was the one I was playing. Actually just started it today. Tho this reminds me, I have yet to vote for it. Consider that fixed in 3..2..

I played lots of NES games (NES clone was the only console I’ve ever had) and CGA games (until I got a 486 with VGA card). I’m 19.
Man, Joe, you’re oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooold. I’m not trying to say I’m the oldest guy here, I’m sure I’m pleasantly in the middle, I’ve just been very surprised by how many answers these past few weeks have been in the post-3D console generation of gaming, I mean, I’ve played plenty of really bad XBox and Playstation Games, but none of them compare to the really bad NES or Apple IIe games I remember.
Similarly to your story, though, I bought a Super Nintendo when all my friends were gearing up for the Playstation 2. The polygons on the N64 and PS1 just annoyed the crap out of me, so I decided to go to a console that knew its limitations and worked wonderfully within them. The DS I bought for Electroplankton was the first “current-gen” (same definition as yours) gaming device I bought after the clunky grey Game Boy I saved up for in the early 90′s and now I’m a total nerd with my Wii, PS3 and iPod Touch.
But yes, I vote we quasi-ironically form an elderly gamers club. I’ve got some friends at Neighborhoodies who can make us jackets.
