Favorite fighting game? I’m afraid if I don’t say it, then no one else will. Project Justice, the grand sequel to Rival Schools, for the Dreamcast.
I mean… kickin’ ass while you’re swimming? Every game has that. But kicking ass WITH your swimming?
You get can’t get that anywhere else!
Loved Project Justice. I was OBSESSED with that “Make Your Own Fighter” board game that it came with.
Great episode you sure talked about a lot of games that were interesting I had already played two of them VVVVVVVV and Upgrade Complete and they were both fun.
I also thought that Street Fighter Alpha was a fun game, but for me my favorite had to be Marvel vs Capcom 2 followed closely by Street Fighter 2. The fighting was intense and could easily make several hours of your life disappear faster than it took to open a door.
I’m pretty much sure right now I’ll vote for Little Wheel. Clint Eastwood would vote for it too.
He’d also probably slap me around a couple times for wearing this much pink.

Although I would say the best fighting game is any game in the Smash Bros. Series, I did recently get Street Fighter 2 on Virtual Console. It’s amazing! It’s probably one of the best games I’ve ever played.

Street Fighter Alpha was great – me and my buddies played the PS1 version FOREVERrr, even when a chunk of it broke off and the music would come in and out.
I loved Marvel Vs Capcom 2 though and SF4 is my current obsession. Waiting for the localized TvC to get here as well (Nice seeing my boy Batsu in the game)!

as for fighting game, MK Ultimate. it was my childhood, i spent all my lunch money in the arcade hall trying to perform Brutalities for all the characters. and i did that!

Forgot to mention, I’d love to see other fighter body types, like squids or Goro sort of characters. centaurs… tho I dont know about floating spinning centaurs. But something to change it up. Game has potential.

Perfectly balanced and very competetive, I’ve never seen such complicated fighting mechanics in other similar games.

BTW it took lots from SF, like tension, overdrives and dragon combo (or how is it called) so GG can be called evolution of Street Fighter.

My favorite Fighting game of all times is, no doubt, Guilty Gear XX #Reload. with 100 missions, arcade mode, story mode for all characters with 3 endings each, M.O.M mode and survival mode. Mainly cus all the characters are unique, with their own fighhting system and instakill attacks, besides having 2 modes when u unlock EX modes. And i love Dr Faust cus he has a paper bag and his head :P

I’ve been trying to beat the boss for a couple of days now, so it definitely counts as oldschool-difficut.
As for the favourite fighting game, I’d say Guilty Gear XX #Reload (Cheers, Sumitpo). To be honest, I like the characters and music (That’s some quality trash, and lots of rock and metal references). It also just happens to be a damn good fighting game.
Oh, and if anyone wants, I can translate the Hellycopter site for you, although it’s just a description of the game’s controls, a short “about us” page and… oh, hey! Another game. Gonna give it a try and write another comment about it.
Dude nice find. Of course as with everything, I suck and need to practice more but it’s certainly a fun little platformer. Unfortunately I didn’t even get to any of the purple checkpoints but I’m sure with some more playtime I will.

Ooh, I do love MK, but OMF2079 would definitely be a contender for the title. The problem with it was it was so clunky, and not just the game play but the cut scenes everything. Plus there were moves you could exploit. And yet I still loved it. I may have to load it up. (You’ll need DOSBox if you want to play it.)
Heh…it’s been well over a decade since last I played it, so the glasses may be a little rose-coloured, I’ll admit. Still, I have more and better memories of playing that game than MK…probably because it was always against my brother,and I usually won, whereas MK was always against the AI at the arcade, and I always lost…

Damn you, Bytejacker! Upgrade Complete totally sucked me in. I didn’t stop until I had ever achievement & 110% complete. Took me 2023 seconds the ingame clock says. So Upgrade Complete is definitely my pick for the week.

I think I’m going to have to vote for Little Wheel. It stars a freaking robot! How can you not vote for it? Maybe if you hate robots because some of them are evil. Maybe an evil robot invaded your home and killed you? No, you’d still have to vote for it.
Best fighting game? My answer there is probably more nostalgic reasons than that the game was actually the best ever. But I’d have to go with Street Fighter II – Champion Edition. Why Champion Edition you ask? Because it was a little better than the first one and because, let’s be honest here, after that one the naming got a little ridiculous. I probably actually spent more time playing various incarnations of Mortal Kombat (they got on their own ridiculous naming kick there at the end), but SF2 was kind of my introduction to fighting games. I remember one summer playing it for something like 8 hours a day every day for a week with my friends. Good times.

See, that’s the part I consider the end of the series, tho I know there was a MK 4, MK Deadly Aliance, MK Tournament edition, Deception, Unchained, Armagadeon, Vs DC… hmm, seems once they went ridiculous they didn’t go back. At least Street Fighter had the good sense to reset every once in a while with a number.
No fighting game in the history could follow up to the graphical, gameplay and combo standards of the tekken series. Tekken 6 BR is by far the best fighting game I have ever played in my life.
Other such fight games (*cough* street fighter *cough*) are just upgrades of the old kung fu game where you only have punch, kick and jump. (with super unfair and massively dramatic special attacks)
