Hah! I don’t like sports either. Don’t watch, don’t play, don’t care.
That being said, there is only ONE sports game I got into. That’s Mutant League Football for the Sega Genesis.
Seesmic seems to be eating all the video comments, and for some reason mine didn’t post.
Ah well, what I said was I haven’t actually attended the rodeo. That one time I volunteered the sell tickets, it was a community thing, but they didn’t have a ticket for me.
However, if wrastlin’ is a sport, and by wrastlin’ I mean wwe sort of stuff. If wrastlin’ is a sport then rodeo is definitely a sport. And I think that’s a fair statement, I hope, because if anyone things wrastlin’ is a sport they probably think rodeo is too. And Nascar.
Oh, there’s the video. Odd:

Just a reminder that if a comment doesn’t show up right away, it might’ve been sent to the approval queue by the spam filter. We check the possible spam list at least once a day.
I considered that, but with everyone else’s videos being broke at the moment (to me) I decided to blame seesmic.
Come on guys, I thought you were American. Always blame someone else.

Gah, just remembered CTR (Crash Team Racing) on the Playstation 1.
It was the first home console game I ever played. Seriously.
And regardless of what anyone else thinks of it, I loved the little Mario Kart rip-off and still do.
Your “gaming life is more like your real life”, eh? So no dating sims either, huh?
win.
Ah, I think I see what you did there. *applauds*
CTR is awesome! Still have that one! Just played it a few days ago in fact.
As for sports games, hate’em. Never play them, if I’m going to play a sport, I want the real thing.
Bit heavy there on the curse words eh, Anthony?
-Elmernite
CTR is definitely among the best, if the not the best, Mario Kart rip-off ever. I still play it on my iPhone from time to time.
Re: cursing – for your taste, or empirically?
Ah, good to hear you agree on CTR. I truly do adore on that game in every way possible.
Best Mario Kart rip-off? Best rip-off in general, I’d say.
OMG. Wonder Bounce is brilliant. I loved it, great find!
My taste mostly, depending on who you’re aiming the show at though. I love the show and yes it was a little much for “my taste” although if you’re aiming at older gamers, yeah, that much cursing is common.
However, I like to keep in mind that I *might* make a game that makes it on here (in my dreams), and I might want to show that episode to my younger siblings. Which I wouldn’t do with the current amount of cursing. So if you want to keep it semi-kid-friendly, then yeah, I would say a bit much.

Our target demographic is the “43-65 year old drunken sailor on shore leave” market.
Next week’s episode is mostly about rum, tattoos, and women that’ve wronged me.
So you’re pretty much targeting Joe Larson, right?
(All in good fun Joe)

Feeling a little patriotic arent we. Thanks for the great show, Its always entertaining. I cant really answer the question I dont own any sports games. Just wanted to post that you guys run an awsome show.
Favorite sports game?
For PC, starcaft. For consoles, sega soccer slam.
I do play Starcraft the board game {seesmic_video:{“url_thumbnail”:{“value”:”http://t.seesmic.com/thumbnail/ySuPDpnd4O_th1.jpg”}”title”:{“value”:”I do play Starcraft the board game ”}”videoUri”:{“value”:”http://www.seesmic.com/video/aRO1s8VxvB”}}}
Yeah, I’m a wuss. Text comment. Oh, well.
I voted for Galactic Commandos. Who could not vote for a game with a name like that?
Something for your radar. Have you guys seen the trailer for Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet? The animation looks awesome. It looks like you’re playing a cartoon. I don’t think I’ve seen it on here yet. They recently released an HD trailer. Very cool. http://michelgagne.blogspot.com/2009/07/new-hd-trailer-on-gametrailercom.html

Ah, Base Wars. Good idea. Bad execution. I loved the idea of it, but the game itself didn’t quite work.
Tho it did have a CPU vs CPU option where you could just watch the game being played and avoid all the messy broken controls.
Yeah, what was that all about? The game sucked, so maybe you’d like to sit and WATCH IT SUCK instead of play it?
I think Base Wars started my love affair with CPU vs. CPU play. My college roommates and I would set up 99 stock free-for-alls in Super Smash Bros Melee with four CPU Ice Climbers on level 9, then turn off the tv and go to class, come back several hours later and check up on how the fight was going. We did this frequently. Good times…
Base Wars to the SC {seesmic_video:{“url_thumbnail”:{“value”:”http://t.seesmic.com/thumbnail/zeKgU18ydV_th1.jpg”}”title”:{“value”:”Base Wars to the SC ”}”videoUri”:{“value”:”http://www.seesmic.com/video/AF0Z7xB7x2″}}}
Yeah, it’s a great idea, no doubt – but there’s no way to justify a $50 game purchase on a watch mode alone.
If you want a deep, playable NES baseball game with super abilities and a watch mode, for my money you just can’t beat Baseball Simulator 1.000. No robots, but the choice of either a realistic or super ability mode, real-time stats tracking, and nice, controllable gameplay.
Gah, why did you have to add multiple popup ads to the video? It’s the most annoying thing ever.
They’re musical credits for the indie artists we support. We gotta give props to those who’s stuff we use. Besides, everyone always wants to know where we get our music from.
No, he’s talking for those of us watching we get embedded ads now as well as ads at the end. I was hoping you were getting some kick back for that and that it wasn’t something your player’s website host was doing without your knowing.
Now I know. And knowing is half the battle.
You should be able to close those if you choose, and once you do, another shouldn’t show up. If that’s not the case, let me know.
It’s not the case. The ads pop up once every two minutes (0:04, 2:04, 4:04, …). They also don’t completely disappear when you close them, there’s a small “Ad” handle covering up the video in the lower left.
Yeah, you click the x and it goes down to the “Ads” handle, then click the “x” on the ads handle and it disappears. Maybe not the best way to do it. We’ll look into it. In the meantime, I don’t think it’s awful, it just needs a bit of tweaking.
Lemme just interject a counter point here. I don’t mind them at all. I have a very high tolerance of internet advertising. I figure anything that makes an honest buck.
They’re not that bad.
I don’t mind ads if they’re not intrusive. I don’t use an ad-blocker, and I even click ads sometimes if they look interesting. However, these in-video popup ads, to me, are intrusive. Quality is also important to me, but if I have to watch the lower quality youtube version to get rid of the popup ads, I will.
In contrast, I like the music information popups that Joe mentioned. I was actually pleasantly surprised the first time I saw one. They’re relevant, interesting, and give credit where it’s due. Well done.
I’d donate if you had a paypal button.
Congrats on getting 1000 YT subscribers, guys!!! You really deserved it, considering the epic show you guys have made for the last year.
But a quick heads up: you should do what CO-OP does and after a few days change the title so it makes more sense to your regular average schmoe. So, instead of putting it as ’047 – See You At The Party, Richter’, which is vague because not a lot of people know this ‘Richter’ (including me), you should put something like ’047 – Splosion Man, Best RPGS Ever’ or ’047 – Splosion Man, Best RPGS Ever – See You At The Party, Richter’.
Sorry I had to say that, but I hate seeing all of your episodes get about 500 views each week, considering you guys put tons more work into your videos than Fred does. Submit it to Digg as well, that helps.
Moving on, WHERE ARE ALL TEH DOWNLOADABLE GAMES, GUYS?? You should drop it from your name if you don’t do a lot of them from now on.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and what’s stopping you from partnering with Next New Networks? You’re friends with them now, aren’t you? I really don’t care if there’s adverts in the middle, man. Really don’t care.
I think you’re misunderstanding what we mean by “downloadable” game. We consider ‘Splosion Man to be downloadable because it’s on XBLA. Same with WiiWare, iPhone, and services like Greenhouse, Steam, and D2D (as long as the games aren’t in a box on a store shelf somewhere).
I also consider it to be “indie,” but arguing the definition of what “indie” is seems to be a very slippery slope these days.
Sorry about the phrasing on that bit, that’s the kind of thing I mean. Just, you only seem to do one downloadable game every 2 months or so, and it’s really starting to p**s me off. Start doing them more regularly.
And I guess it’s good to call yourself indie, but start calling yourself it more if you want to do that.
Sorry for all the moaning! I just want to make the show better! :)
Dude, it ain’t your show.
Anthony, Jon, you change what you want to change. And don’t listen to the moaners. Even the ones that have been around for a while.
Yeah, I kinda get that from them. I just love the show so much. I never comment on here anyway, so I shouldn’t really be telling you that kind of stuff. APOLOGIES HAVE BEEN GRANTED.

NBA Jam! Oh, how I hate that game. Great arcade basketball, no doubt, but every time I played that game it was against at least one guy who so knew what he was doing that it just sucked the fun out of the game.
And RE: Base Wars above (Threads seem to have a max depth) – No one payed $50 just to watch the game. But after finding out the game sucked it was good to discover that your $50 wasn’t entirely wasted. I don’t think “buy this game to watch it” was a selling point. Just sayin.
