I must say that my favorite FPS by all time must be Team Fortress 2.
I’m still amused by seing a Scout becoming Jibblets when my Crit Rocket hit him square in the face :D
And the community in there is just awsome.

Alright, so spell it out for those of us to dumb to figure it out. I actually entirely missed that the snow level was a snow globe. What else did I miss?
Verbal is Keyser Soze.

I would have to say Metroid Prime: Hunters for the Nintendo DS – yes it’s a Nintendo game, but it has an interesting storyline, although you have to explore EVERY nook and cranny of the game to piece it together!
The graphics are amazing considering the system it’s on, it has brilliant puzzles and it’s really fun.

Does anyone remember playing Catacomb 3D? Awesome, but not my pick.
My pick is Half-Life. 1.
Kids.

It should also be mentioned, I think, that since half life “immersion” has been a goal of just about every FPS adventure since. But whether someone does it as well as or better than Half Life gets uber-bonus points for developing the idea in a vacuum and pulling it off so successfully.
In my opinion.

Portal would be my second choice for fav FPS.
OMG! Commercials have made their way into the video comments!

last one I promise.
Favorite FPS is Doom. I still play it to this day. Skulltag makes it even better.
My pick this week is Small World. The game really wouldn’t be the same without the pixely graphics. It reminds me of playing Atari and trying to make out what the pixely characters/objects represent.

Summary:
Small Worlds = Yay!
LostWinds = Yay!
FPS = WTF
Happy Halloween!
Unreal is the best FPS of all time for me, it’s really outstanding game. After two years of its release (1998) it was still best looking game (it was dethroned by Quake 3). When i saw this game in game magazine sometime around 1997 I thought it is a joke, it looked like some of those 3d benchmark programs that were really popular at that time. Unreal had not only the best graphics but also unique atmosphere thanks to great mix of beautiful, strange landscapes with industrial and gothic structures.
Best FPS? I’m tempted to say Portal, but I’m gonna go with Timesplitters 2. It’s got fast paced multiplayer along with varied game modes. Also, it had a very nice balanced co-op campaign mode for its time.
Oh yeah, and Asteroids and Snake mini games.

bleh, too lazy to re-record, i ment small worlds, not tiny worlds, you get the point.

Bullet time reloading. Yeesh.
And Gunfu is straining my relationship with Small Worlds.
Joe,
I didn’t have words to express how i felt about the two games, but you have with one simple video made it all clear! I hope i dont have to go through this often as it is way too stressful.

FPS Pick = Quake 2
My favorite FPS by far is Unreal Tournament. The game was fast paced, had crazy awesome guns (Cmon, the Flack Cannon is the best gun ever… well okay maybe the Redeemer =p ), awesome music, complex level designs and by far the best map editor I’ve ever seen for a FPS. The mod community for UT was ridiculous as well.

“Hey, look! Listen!”
Hahahaha, classic Bytejacker right there XD
Robot Tank for the Atari 2600… You we’re in a tank (duh!) but the color and the controls way over the time…
But to be more “now days” I’d also say Half-Life… It was a breaking point for me and my buddies.
