We’ve covered one metric assload of games over the course of the series (which is equal to 0.6 standard assloads), and a lot of them have changed, evolved, or continued in some way. Here’s where we get you up to speed on all the awesome Indies from episodes past.

I agree with these fine gentlemen whole heartedly.
I think this is well worth putting on digg, if 2 chinamen get to humiliate themselves covering the backstreet boys, you deserve more attention than that… :P

You guys are incredible! As if I don’t have enough on my plate with this weeks massive episode I better get at least 3 more lip dubs on here! You guys are great!
Looks like you’re not getting your 3 more. At this point you can put this off by putting it in the video insisting on 3 more before you do the edit.
There was this Game Cube game based off the first Spideman film. I kinda liked that a lot more than I should have. There was also this cheat to play as the Green Goblin. That was awesome.
Broooooooophy.
Make me a new game to play.
Do it.

Greatest Green Lantern?Play Video Comment
Ah, if the Green Lantern debate is not limited to just the humans, then I have to say Sodam Yat. I love his story in Sinestro Corps Wars. A boy who befriends an alien he is taught to fear. The alien crash lands on his planet, he befriends him, but then others around him find out and try to brain wash him. He decides to build a spaceship to leave his planet. The moment he finishes his monument spaceship dedicated to his friend and destined to take him away he receives a Green Lantern ring. Talk about getting a break. He becomes the bearer or Ion after Kyle Rayner and on earth has almost exactly the same powers as Superman. How sweet is that! Except his weakness is a quite common element on earth, lead. He has to fight Superboy Prime in one of the greatest Green Lantern fights I’ve ever seen, except he gets totally taken out by the insane Superboy Prime. Sodam Yat, bad ass.

I just discovered you videos and loved them. I instantly subscribed to your feed in google reader. But I don’t see your videos in the feed. Is there a way I can see your videos or get links to videos in Google Reader.
Of course my game would be up against two other amazing indie games :C
Wjhat’d be the fun of winning if you didn’t have a challenge? Good luck!
Heya! Thanks for reviewing Love again, but you linked to the wrong site!

Quite the difference, guys!
I’ve got to playing the free indies, and it’s not a good start for NEVA I’m afraid, I’m very tempted to go all Yahtzee on its arse!!

here I actually do go all yahtzee on Neva.

mind you the only comic book games I owned were for the gameboy, and I mention them here.
HL2 recomendataion – You’re winding yourself up for something it’s not. It’s good, but it’s not that good. IMHO it’d not better than HL1 was. What it does have going for it is the episodic story telling that THEY’RE NOT MOVING FORWARD WITH FOR SOME REASON?! But don’t wait to play HL2. Play it, get it out of the way, move on.
Guys, I’d love to leave an audio/video comment this week but I’m recovering from the flu and just ain’t feeling it right now. I’ll leave something later if I get the strength.
I just wanted to say: that dog is adorable.
I just got a new laptop with a *drum roll* NEW WEBCAM! So hopefully I’ll comment or something this week.
And wtf? No one mentioned Starcraft2? If I video comment your ass, you will not hear the end of it.
Not really. I just wanted to say “video comment your ass”.
My vote goes towards MVC2 (Marvell vs. Capcom 2). I am sure I’m not alone when saying it is the best stand up arcade machine of all times. Now that it is available in XBLA, GAME ON!~

Also, the way I found this show was by look at Terry Cavanagh’s blog a few months back. He posted media coverage on his game VVVVV which is due out next week, and Bytejacker was the show covering it. So yeah, pretty interesting coincidence.
Play Video Comment
What? I said, “Thank you for the Joe, I guess.” xD Don’t worry about it. Same thing happens to me.
Eh, I was too lazy to do another video comment. You know, it’s funny you mention the Tank Girl soundtrack because I actually just bought that off iTunes yesterday. And most of my hate for that movie stems from the artist’s hate of it, really. The only accurate thing about that movie was the costumes. As soon as I saw Ice-T as a Kangaroo, I knew it couldn’t redeem itself. It was a total waste of Malcolm McDowell’s talent.
And as far as Voltometer goes, I really hated the physics to that game. But for some reason, I kept playing. I guess it just felt more rewarding after I completed a level than the other games.
I understand how you felt about Ninja anime boobs chick. Seeing the Neva chick nearly whack herself in the face with her chest while sprinting kinda got on my nerves. I mean, you never see a guy’s crotch flappin around while he’s running.
On second thought, I’m not complaining. 0_o
Oh my God. That’s the game I was trying to remember! Superman 64. I rented that once from a video game rental store (when they still existed). I’m not sure, but I think I actually liked it, surprisingly enough. Although, I don’t think I beat it. I got frustrated with it. Hmm, did I like it…I don’t remember. I think I’m a rare case that might have enjoyed it, but it brings up warm fuzzy memories of the time. It’s a time piece that brings back memories, but that doesn’t really tell if I liked it or not.
Sorry, my light is out for a moment.
And I have got to fix my framing. Get rid of that space above my head.
Here’s a limerick that my Grandfather used to relate to me:
Oh how ugly I are,
My face ain’t no shining star.
But I really don’t mind it,
Because I’m behind it.
It’s you friends that all get the jar.
Same can be applied to the entire male form.
And I guess that Harley comment isn’t as true now as when I first heard it said. There was a time when Harley didn’t have the respect it does now.
Play Video Comment
Ah Harley Davidsons, the best way to convert petrol into noise, with only the slight hinderance of horsepower!!
You were saying Starcommand. Did you mean Starcraft 2?
I totally meant StarCraft, not Star Control. Man, over and over again in that video. Dang. Like 25 times.
Their fault for naming their game similar to the greatest game you never played.
It’s all good Joe. No worries. Sorry I was nit-picky there.
I know what you mean about Starcraft 2 possibly being a rehash of Starcraft 1, and that’s my biggest fear about the sequel. From what I’ve seen so far, they’ve shown a variety of different units, so the gameplay may be pretty different. As far as the plotline goes, I’m not really sure what they’re doing and to what extent it is a ripoff of the first one. I’m trying to keep it a surprise for myself, whether it’s good or bad, so I’m not too keen on seeing all the latest updates, but I’m just hoping it won’t be a disappointing copy of the first.
As for as the Cho Aniki game goes, I’m not too sure what the audience for that game was supposed to be. Call me crazy, but there is something I find unattractive about the concept of grotesque bodybuilders (with the faces of old men) fighting each other in thongs. I mean, I really don’t care, you guys can keep your anime chicks. I’m content just as long as I never have to witness that again.
New units != new gameplay.
As long as the protos need pylons and the zerg need creep… heck as long as the game is “Human/Zerg/Protos” in my mind the missed an opportunity to do something new and that’s just plain unforgivable. I’m not saying I have anything wrong with pylons or creep, I’m saying I’ve seen it. Show me something new.
Sorry, just sorry. But this is a rare occurrence on the show, sadly and ironically enough.

@Brent (and everyone else, I guess):
Thanks for the welcome. :) Hopefully I’ll become a regular around here, but with this new webcam, I probably won’t be be able to resist. I would leave a video comment instead of typing this, but my nose is running like a faucet and I sound horrible. But yeah, thanks, and I’ll work on the awkward pauses in the future.
Also, I am getting serious commitment panic with Starcraft2. D: But I guess I’m buying it either way, so I’ll just have to wait to find out if it’s shitty or not.
Proof that my peer pressure works! EVERYONE BUY A WEBCAM OR I’LL BURN AN ORPHANAGE!
Anthony is going on a puppy killing, orphanage burning rampage and it’s all your faults for not buying a webcam!
And yes, welcome Headphonic!

By the way, good job fixing the formatting on the comment box…. a bit.
Just watched the Angry Video Game Nerd review of Superman 64. Absolutely amazing. I can’t believe I haven’t seen this guy before.
Yes, that is an improvement. I can finally see the first line of type. THANK GOD!
All I want is for Riffly to return an email about styling their plugin – nothing seems to work.
Disqus, however, returns my emails in about an hour – that’s why we’ll be switching to them once they get their Seesmic integration working again.
Also, this made me LOL. Amazing review.

Man, that Genesis port was so disappointing. Get yourself a MAME rom until someone sees fit to release a decent version. YOU’RE WORTH IT.
Do the Ninja Turtles count as super hero’s? I cant tell, I mean I know they had a comic book series, but i don’t know what came first, that or the cartoon.
Or if it matters, But if they do count, I’m totally leaving a video comment!
Your good. The Comic came first.

To make it totally clear, the game is ROGUE TROOPER.
Is the video down for everyone or just me. Seems all Rev3 videos haven’t worked all day.
Eh, the video’s working fine on my comp.
It’s like it works and then it doesn’t. It’s kinda annoying. But it might just be a regional thing for me. Either that or Rev3 has something wrong with it. not sure.

Never really done this sort of thing before so sorry if I sound stupid or seem to stutter alot :x
Neva’s control was definitely a little weird. That attack button behavior had me thinking the same thing when I first played through – was I doing it right? Was it broken? Could she just not attack?
Also: welcome!

Oh, and one more thing, Inky. We should totally hang out.
Thanks for the welcome Anthony, I really like the whole video comments thing you’ve got going here, it’s a really cool feature.
And I get what you mean now about the zelda music Joe, I’m just sorry that you don’t like ice levels – It’s probably a good job you didn’t get past that ice level, there’s another one later on that’s harder.
And yes we should hang out haha.

*Thumbs up* I think the full title is X-Men Origins: Wolverine or something. Like, the same title as the movie. The demo was so good. I wish I could get my hands on a full version of the game. I hear though, the sentinel fighting level stinks because you are basically fighting against his foot. It doesn’t have the same sense of scale as God of War, but it has the same kind of fighting mechanic, and some really sweet visuals. I love the regenerative aspect and how his wife-beater just gets torn away. Thanks for agreeing with me Brent! ;)
BTW this weeks comments are real solid. I just get a good sense of flow and well knitness to them.

So I suppose we’ll just finish the Swingtime dancing videos next week? Or would you guys rather have it this week? Cause I’m about to tear it up. Tear it up and feast on its innards. With hot sauce.
Send it in please! It’s never too late.
Alright. I’ll probably send it in tomorrow then if that’s fine.

Here it is.
Love the checkers! Completes the 80′s vibe! Keep em coming you guys, I’m going to make a standalone video of this.
That background gives me some ideas. Man, Jon, I just realized what pain it must be to capture all these video comments off these little window each week. You’re not allowed access to the raw file are you? Harsh.
I know it sucks, with Seesmic I could download the raw file but they watermarked it. with riffly you can’t unfortunately. So I’m left with screen grabbing it through screenflow. I think I have this song memorized after hearing it a dozen times now.
Jon you CAN get these videos as saved files on your computer. What it takes is a Firefox plugin called download helper:
http://www.downloadhelper.net/
with that you can save any Embedded flash video as a .flv file, there are ways within it to convert them into MP4 as well but I haven’t yet worked out how to do that =/
OH, & headphonic, that IS a sweet background!! :D also a very sweet Axel Steel style chuckaround at the start!! \m/ I must get myself accross the atlantic at some point at the girls and women where I am would not be willing to be seen dead messing around with a guitar, Either Real or Fake :(
I would like to announce to everyone that Laurence is my new best friend!
Woah. A lotta comments. Yeah that background is the only thing I like about my room. Pretty proud of it. B) I also took an unhealthy amount of time perfecting that over-shoulder-throw.
Also, thanks Bytejacker for all these Blip festival videos. Just another thing to add to my list of obsessions. Seriously, I’ve now got a thing for chiptune music. You wouldn’t believe how much of this shit I’ve downloaded.
I’m sure you’ll have a bunch more of it to add to your list after tomorrow.
