You wanna get nuts? Let’s get nuts. This week we’re reviewing Japanese WiiWare weird-fest Muscle March, which sadly does not come with a speedo attachment for the Wiimote. We’re also taking a look at your picks for the best Winter levels in gaming history.
We should all chip in and patent that Speedo/Wiimote thing.

Apparently this may be the “translated” version of Ken chan and Kato chan you’re looking for. It’s basically the same thing gameplay wise, but I’m not sure if all the content is similar.

Not directly, Just like the Xbox version of conker, it is has been also been Toned down :( Gits!! Thanks for bring that up though, Much apreciated :)
The video on the site (and on rev3) isn’t working for me. I needed to watch this one on (ugh) youtube this week.
Been a while since one of my kids featured in a video like this. I mean, they were in swing time, but … anyways.

And poor Jon. Can’t get the love. That’s the life of a camera man. You know it.
Holy smokes, footage of tooth invaders does exist!

Lots of Robot Odyssey exists too:

But of multiplayer life, I don’t know if good footage is possible. I really need to rewrite that one.
Ha! Gretel and Hansel! My girlfriend just found that two nights ago on addicting games! That’s hillarious and a really funny coincidence. I’ll let her know.

Agreed. I knew someone would mention Wario Ware.
My computer blew up this last weekend, and my wife’s laptop is kind of a piece o’ crap. So I won’t be able to play any of the games this weekend. {unless I can get my hands on a new motherboard for free. (-_-);;} But the laptop does have a camera, and I have a doozy for you guys.

The only thing I remember really hating was Barbie and her Frankie Muniz 5-head. But I guess it was pretty decent considering they were just capitalizing off of little kid’s dreams. ._. Also, scratch that, there was one other game I played. Barbie Super Sports. Got to admit I also have fond memories of that one. And shut up. I was a kid. I watched Powerpuff Girls for fuck’s sake. What else do you people want from me? D:
NO! WAIT! DON’T USE THIS! I have just been hit with an obviously weird game that I have no idea how I forgot: Booger Man. I’ll do a video comment later.
Click to play this video.
I’d suggest you change your answer to Boogerman ;) or else I’ll be forced to refer to you as the Barbie Girl.
ROFLMAO.
Suggestion for next weeks question: MOST EMBARRASSING GAME YOU’VE EVER PLAYED. If it happens, by all means use my barbie footage for it.
And hey! I couldn’t help the fact that I was a child brainwashed into believing that becoming a white blonde chick was what I needed to be beautiful. And Barbie was the shit for any little girl who’s ever been to Toys R Us. Now, see, if I liked Miley Cyrus, THAT would be unforgivable.
._. Fuckin’ Barbie was a hoe anyways.
Another shocking confession about my entire 6th grade class……………………….we all played Runescape. MOTHERFUCKIN’ RUNESCAPE. AKA the shittiest graphics of any game out there. Well…all of us played it except for the Disney channel hoebags. But yeah….runescape. Not as bad as the Barbie games, but it’s down there. I seriously could not play that game without having some flock of noobs following me around saying “CAN U B3 MAI GF PL0XKTHX”
But more on Boogerman. Ironically, I played that game at my school also when I was a kid. We had ZSNES on every single computer there, and that’s all we would do in our computers class: play SMRPG, Aladdin, Boogerman, Earthworm Jim, and Megaman. I like to focus on this era.
Also…somehow my video comment stopped working. Hopefully time will fix it. I don’t want to have to bear the humiliation of reliving my confession if we go with the “most humiliating game” thing for next week.
But really though, I have no idea why it’s not working. I checked my videos on viddler, and it says it’s on “public”. But it’s not working on the site either.
Maybe it’s a blessing.
If the videos are in your video account, does the “choosing” mechanism not work for you? that’s how i’ve been doing my videos seems to be working ok for me =/
Failing that how about linking to the viddler page itself?
Anyways videogames seems to bless women with a certain degree of sanity. Just be greatful you didn’t turn out like this waste of flesh :P :

Jon, you must use the “Come on, Barbi, let’s got party” bit in the episode. PLEASE! lol
Don’t worry Joe. All little girls are girly. xD I mean, compare me now to my childhood love for Barbie. Pretty different. I mean, I don’t think I even own anything pink anymore.
Unlike Anthony. PWNED

Apologies joe I didn’t mean for that last sentence to sound as serious as it did, i meant it to sound a bit more sarkey and jokey. :P
This was the article about Lego I was talking about…
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/moslive/article-1234465/When-Lego-lost-head–toy-story-got-happy-ending.html
Also Joe, that vid was taken from a TV series called “Charlie Brooker’s Screenwipe” in Which British Videogames reviewer come Media critic Charlie (the commenter in that video) comments on modern (mainly british) TV. That particular clip was taken from an episode which covers television for and featuring young people.
that can be seen here: (part one of three)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuyXkBIDBsQ
I will admit it right here, I watched Power Puff Girls also. It was bad ass. They kicked serious ass.
If i was going to pick a weird game that i loved then it would have to be toejam and earl for the SEGA Genesis. The reason why is because of the weird things that were out to kill you. A Hamster in a ball, i believe a little red fat devil. Hula dancers, flying cupids who fired arrows at you. I also believe some mailboxes attacked you as well. This game was just fun and weird at the same time.
I also wanted to throw out another game i did love. Which was WarioWare Mega microgames. I mean what the hell, you need to tap A to make a nose sniff up a booger. Now that is just nasty but the mini games kept getting faster and faster and it is almost like playing guitar hero or something.
Free indie rundown, which I shouldn’t have been able to do today.

Do you remember PA’s take on this?
http://www.penny-arcade.com/2003/4/14/
Of course for the comic you have to go here:
http://images.cryhavok.org/v/Penny+Arcade+Strawberry+Shortcake.jpg.html
The point that the PA guys were making, tho, was the exact opposite of the one you’re making. They’re thought was that this sort of thing was simple to pull off. So simple in fact that it shouldn’t be lauded as much as it is, and to illustrate they bastardized Strawberry Shortcake.
But this is a slightly different discussion. We’re talking about undoing what’s been done in the past. De-sweetening the story as it were.
Can’t be arsed setting up the camera here, then uploading converting not long before the eve of a new show, so I’ll text here, I’ve done quite a lot of filming for this week… and i didn’t even do any of the free indie reviews. That and I sound like a stuttering nervous wreck & forget stuff if I don’t have my own script to follow =/
I didn’t get wind of Penny arcade till not long after discovering bytejacker and watching one of the old episodes at one of the PA expos.I’ve not gone back through the site far enough but I have had a glance at their very first webcomic, which about the FPS SIN, and Pissed myself laughing because I was one such person waiting ages for the levels to load :P
http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/1998/11/18/
Criticism may seem fair at American because – from what I can make out – they are claiming American Mcgee is a one trick bastardising pony, but this is a trick I am a huge fan of, because I can appreciate the macabre and the gothic. THat’s probably because I used to be a goth myself, but not for long, I didn’t fit in too well with that crowd, I liked to laugh a lot, eat well, and overall not have my arms resembling zebra skin :P .
From what I could tell during my time as a gamer, American has been the only one who has been able to do this in terms of both story and environment as far as Alice is concerned. Maybe others should step up to the plate in the videogame world. Maybe Tim Burton should either pen, direct, or produce a videogame. That I would Pay to see!!
The Game Ahhhh for iPhone. Weirdest game I never thought I would love so much!

Dude, “Musical Score by Thomas Dolby”! That’s just awesome. But it also get’s the center square in weird-game-bingo for that alone. I mean kids now-a-days think Danny Elfman is weird for Dead Man’s Party, but no, trust me on this. She blinded me with science. Europa. Every album of Thomas Dolby was different, completely, than the last, infact just look at the covers. He changed his look every single time.
I men, the man was a musical and audio genius. Dolby surround sound, that was his. Same Dolby. Brilliant, but wacko.

PS…Who’s this Jon fellow? Is he new?
@ Laurence: I used to be a huge Lego fan, actually. I still have a big ass tub of them that I could never give away. I only ever followed the instructions once, and I ended up filming a little movie out of them. The set was for some mad scientist or something, so naturally I went with a comedic Frankenstein type film, but I also remember my cousin had this video game for the PS called Lego Island 2, so we had some fun playing that. Hot Wheels were a big thing with me too, and that same cousin literally had hundreds of them. We’d lay them out on the ground in a huge column about 5 cars wide, and put dinosaurs at the front: a pathetic attempt at “Jurassic Park”. Good times.
Now I’m off to go find that movie I made.
Viddler’s being funny this morning:
http://www.viddler.com/cymonsgames/videos/15/
Well I guess you can’t really MAKE her play with the legos, of course. But when I would play with legos, I never played with boys, mainly because my brothers are much older than me. However, when I’d go to my cousin’s house, his Lego-laying-method was to engineer giant spaceships and whatnot. After he built these spaceships, the wouldn’t even play with them or anything, so it seemed that he enjoyed the building process. For me, it was sort of a storytelling thing, and although I would follow the instructions to make different sets, in the end it was all about the story I would be telling with the legos I had. But occasionally I would get an urge to build as big of a castle/fort as possible for my lego people, so I guess it all depends.
But I think you’re freaking out too much over the Sweet 16 video. xD Unless you’re a crazy rich-ass parent who gives your child everything even if they backtalk you, you really have nothing to worry about.
As far as videogames go, I’d always enjoyed watching them. My brother told me when he’d play SMRPG, I’d say “Mario swim!” as a toddler. I think the thing that really gets me about video games are the fact that they’re basically stories that you’re living through. I mean, even till this day I’ll force my brothers to play through a part if I’m too afraid to kill my precious character. Maybe that’s just my wussiness, but for some strange reason, watching video games is just SLIGHTLY less fun than playing them. Is that the case for anyone else, because I always see people getting bored whenever they’re not playing.
Good point about the horse and the drinking =/ But I think there may be something else, There’s a fashion/arts and crafts web show/series on Next New Networks called threadbangers/threadheads.
http://www.threadbanger.com/
They’ve also got a youtube channel, But I’ll let you search for that in case this need moderation too.
I often watch this from time to time and I’m as testosterone fuelled as any bloke out there, but this is fun, entertaining, and informative, and I’ve even attempted done a few projects on the show myself.
Now i suggest that if your daughter has inherited even a tiny smidgen of your “build your own fun with lego or computers” mentality, I reckon she’ll take to that like a duck to water. As a suggestion, Maybe start downloading the shows now, and close to the time she’s approaching double figure ages maybe give them to her as a present on a memory stick or Portable hard drive.
hope that helps :)
Ooh, good thinking. She’s only 2 right now, but maybe. Maybe.
If I show her this and hear her say “pretty” I’ll know I have her.

P.S. Danny, you’ve unlocked a new achievement: “Ambivalence.” Because never have I wanted both hang out with a dude because I thought he was cool and punch that same guy across the bridge of his nose for making me play such a punishing game.
Not as much now that I’ve beat it, but in the middle of level 12… oh man. Now where’s my cookie.
Made it to level 11 and started to scream at my computer. Nice work! I think if I can get through the entire game I deserve more than a cookie. And who the f*** is that camera guy, he’s useless!
I highly recommend playing it the whole way through to see the end of the intro story :)
Long time, first time. I’ll get videos going soon. This game is brutal Danny. Clearly you wanted the keyboard throwing to begin at level 4. Great job.

The weirdest game i can remember is Enviro Bear…..
im pretty sure i have played way more weirder and disturbing games, but probably my mind is blocking those memories
