Gravity Bone‘s Brendon Chung has released his first commercial title, Flotilla, on PC and XBLIG. Let’s check it out together, as a family.
RADAR: Flotilla Review
Blendo Games, Turn-based strategy, Windows/XBLIG, $10
Remember Gravity Bone? Yeah you do, because it was awesome. A stylish, fun, way outside-the-box mod of Quake II, it totally stole our hearts when we covered it last year. Now Brendon Chung, the man behind its development, is back with Flotilla, a turn-based strategy game for Windows and Xbox Live Indie Games. Was he able to transfer all the charm and style to a different genre?

Feedback: Free Indies that deserve console releases
Cave Story made the jump to consoles last week and it got us thinking: there are probably a ton of other free indies that deserve the same treatment. We asked for your input. You gave it. SYNERGY.

Who’s your daddy?
OH… Its on now headphonic.
Shit just got real.
I will eat your babies.
More on topic: I’m guessing Balloon in a wasteland is by the same guy who made “The Next Floor”? I spent way too much time on that.
Thanks, guys. Thanks. I know how my weekend’s going to be wasted.
NOT IF I EAT THEM FIRST! HAHA, whos laughing now!
…but more on the topic, I have literally seen a bunch of those “Play to upgrade to play more to upgrade more” games. So, I’m setting a time limit for 30min each game.
… I mean, and stick with that time limit this time.
Don’t… don’t. Just stop. If it stops being a thing then maybe everyone will wait until they watch the show and have something to comment on.
Amazing… Hear I thought I was the Geeky one checking the site at 12:30, and there are already three posts. I would say that you both need to get a life, but I would have to get one myself then.
Loved the pseudo ads guys. I especially loved the Robot Unicorn ad played with the my little pony’s and the Settlers of Catan (yes I recognized the cards) game. Bravo.
I will have no time this week to actually play the games…so, without any basis of comparison I will declare Constellation Chaos the winner solely on its look and feel. With the original Atari Tempest as my patron saint, I love any game with a unique but somewhat subdued aesthetic.
Thanks for putting CC on the show!
I think I should mention, my friend made this really awesome Atari boxart for the game:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2074248/BoxArtCChaos.png
Nice! Love it!
OH and I think the link to Balloon is taking me to robot wants kitty. It may be juust me though
Wow just wow? When does the show come up? 12:05 here? Your telling me it’s been five minutes and like five people already commented. Sheesh this is more intense than the time I forgot how to sit down.
Goom, is your daddy.
And yes, balloon in a wasteland is taking you to the robot wants kitty page.
Fix the lazy programming now!
HA, that was awesome! You should put Blamco ad betweeen every text comment as well :) And a very sweet question of the week by the way. I am now thinking hard what to name and if i don’t go for SOnic but say would go for James Pond 3, that was something, i mean my brain back then was on fire :)
who was it that gave you the idea for “tabletop robot unicorn attack”? :P I want my cut anthony!! ;)
bloomin’ eck that blamco advertising was certainly like watching all those ads for toys in between the saturday morning cartoons, and thanks to charlie brooker i now realise that half is sheer rudeness and half is “alien technology”

Good to have you back Laurence! You certainly picked a strange time to miss out on the past few weeks as a lot has changed since then. I understand what you mean about the new format. As fun as it is to get back into doing sketches, we’re still trying to keep the interactivity going. Since our format is different every week, it’s a challenge to incorporate responses in the context of the episode but we’re certainly working on finding a better way to integrate it. Our favorite part of the show is the great feedback you all give us, so we certainly wanna keep that going.
Nice to see you back here again.
@Jon, like I said in a previous video comment, you have to do it a little like Sesame Street. A running narative interrupted like commercials with content.
Laurence, good to have you back with Ken and Blanka assaulting your dome.
@joe, I think there is already a bit of a sesame street theme going on here with bytejacker +0.1, With antony and John as ernie and burt, Because Ernie (anthony) is always winding up and pissing off burt :P
I agree with you on the little bits. They are hilarious and it’s always nice to have a change of pace, but I like Carbonis’ silliness in the other format better. Just an opinion. I will continue to watch regardless.
It’s always fun to see people’s reactions to format changes. For the most part, I feel like whenever we’ve changed things, it’s only strengthened the show – there was one instance *cough*twiceaweek*cough* where we really just boned ourselves and the audience, but I don’t think this is like that.
Honestly, we’re just kind of getting bored. 79 episodes of the same thing (actually more, if you count Power Ups and the FORMAT CHANGE THAT SHALL NOT BE NAMED *cough*twiceaweek*cough*) and we got run down.
Jon and I both have film backgrounds, and with our day jobs and Bytejacker, we haven’t had much time to exercise those muscles – so we’ve brought a little bit of that to the show. I personally like it a lot more this way – All the gaming content is still there, all the same stuff from you guys, but I think every episode is more watchable. They stand more on their own. They’re more fun.
Also: I secretly just love to wear body stockings.
going back to Megadriver, here is the song “mad racer” from the (yes, I realise, Super nintendo) game “top gear”

And this is Megadriver, performing it live, All you sonic nostalgists and officionados will love his guitar (a different one to the previous link). Plus I’d love to be in a crowd Moshing to videogame music \m/ :D

Does the whole blamco thing have something to do with the coop sellout?
I love it – CO-OP finally gets the attention and funding they need to make the show they’ve always wanted to make, and everyone yells at them for selling out.
CO-OP is the single best gaming show anywhere today. Area5 deserve to make a living off of their work. No, this episode is not about them.
Robot Unicorn Attack looks suspiciously like a combination of My Little Pony and Settlers of Catan.
If this is the case, than all my dreams HAVE come true!
Yeah I noticed that too. Good eye! haha
I’m saying this before anyone gets the chance to, i hope no one decides to take my answer. I’ll try to do a video comment later on.
Best Sega Genesis Video game would have to be the combination of Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles. This game was just hard as hell and interesting. You have the sonic and knuckles cartridge which you stuck in the Sega first and then you stick in Sonic 3 on top.
Now the interesting part about this game is that the two parts are suppose to be together. Sonic three has it’s first i think 6 stages then you fight eggman in his robot claw arm as the final boss. Then the sonic and knuckles game picked up after sonic 3.
The best part is the true final boss. Which this is the first time you play as Super Sonic. In a real boss fight that is story related. You play as him in sonic two but there isn’t a real boss fight where you are required to fight as super sonic.
The last boss was actually interesting. It wasn’t the hardest boss, but it wasn’t the easiest either. Rings counting as your time limit. You had to just be quick and not even think of a strategy to beat Eggman.
Which i will submit this soon as a video. Hope no one decides to submit my answer.
I can’t get my video comments to upload. Anyone else having the same trouble? Seems to be a viddler thing since I can’t upload it on their website either.
One thing I don’t need to say on the video comment is landslide victory for Specter Spelunker Shrinks. 74%. Almost expected tho. This week, tho, I’m predicting a slightly closer race for the first position.
For some reason mine doing it too, had this great video all ready to be up for the comment and like 10 min later it still says “Uploading: 0%”
Lame!
My apologies for the miscommunication. When I submitted my opinion for Touhou getting remakes, I had forgotten that Bytejacker was referring to freeware… which Touhou IS ABSOLUTELY NOT FREEWARE!
It’s just that trying to find it online at a decent price is soul-crushingly hard and pretty much near-impossible. Anyone know of any online stores that sell the games at a sensible price?
I picked up Embodiment of Scarlet Devil and Perfect Cherry Blossom and paid ~15USD for shipping to Canada. Totally worth it :)
There’s info here:
http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Buying_Stuff
I’m not going to link directly to any stores here, since a lot of japanese online stores that carry indie titles also carry 18+ titles.

Sonic the hedgehog 3 – Sonic and Knuckles.
Is this the first video comment? Sweet.
i noticed that it wouldn’t let me post another video comment. I mean record, it says the access is denied or something in that matter. Though i got one video comment through somehow. Lucky me.
I’m willing to bet that you’re so evil, you still give out ransom demands of “ONE MEELLYON DOLLARS” [/obscure austin powers reference]
Just went to viddler to record.

Vectorman, seriously.
when you shook your hands about at the end there, I thought you kinda resembled Stan From Monkey Island. :P
Vectorman is up there for sure. I think they did make a second one too. Never played it tho.
Oh god they did, why did you tell me this! I have work to do! NO, ARG, MY WEEKEND HAS BEEN DESTROYED!
Maybe if I call in sick just one… day..
SEE WHAT YOU DID TO ME!
Well, looks like we’re going to have to institute logins for commenters. I knew this day would come.
Deep down, we all knew Anthony, it was only a matter of time.
Maybe someday… We can live in a world free of logins, where commenters run free, and there is true peace in the universe.
But untill then, I’m gonna go steal Headphonics username.
For what? The e-mail option. Not a huge fan of having another button to unclick since I get the RSS comment feed already, but it’s not a big deal to me.
Nah – because I had to delete some comments today that were posted by people pretending to be other people.
Not cool, dudes.
Whoops – I’ll remove that from being checked by default.
Hah, right after I said I was gonna go steal Headphonics name…
Well thats awkward…. I swear I’m a good kid!
Oh, was that those comments that “You” posted a bit ago?
isn’t there a plug-in for WordPress that allows anonymous posts that don’t ask for name or something. They just get a big “Anonymous”. I don’t know, my blog doesn’t get enough commenters that I need to worry about that yet.
One problem with this new system, it doesn’t tell you when your comment is awaiting moderation. At least I assume my comment is awaiting moderation. I submitted 2 and when I made a 3rd that was the same as the 2nd I got a “You’ve already submitted this comment. So… yeah.
Guys, I hate to sound like a broken record and/or exasperated, but: take a deep breath about moderation. I promise, we moderate. We moderate like crazy. If your comment doesn’t immediately show up, make a sandwich, check your email, take the dog out, watch some Hulu.
We’re on it.
No, I know, I’m sorry, I know. This is a different issue in that I didn’t even know my comment went through. I wasn’t sure I hit save, you know. in the past that wasn’t an issue. Also in the past I could predict when my comments would get moderated, but this one didn’t seem to have any reason for it and it didn’t show me the post but tell me it was waiting moderation like last time, so I assumed I forgot to hit submit.
No, i know you guys are doing your job just fine.
Well this really blows. So for some stupid reason i made my display name Roxas instead of what it should be, Russelloni. So……do i change it? lol
Ok changed it, haha sweet. I’m also Roxas and Russelloni. BOOYA!
Anyone know how i get a Avatar up on the right side of my posts?
Gravatar.com, brosnap. Just create an account, associate the email you used when you registered, and upload your picture.
Gravatars work on all wordpress sites and a bunch of other platforms, so you wind up having an automatic avatar in a lot of places.
I’ll try it out and see if it works
it doesn’t….:(
Yes it does. Fan of cloud are we?
Pretty sure that’s Sora, but all these Square-Enix kids look the same to me. I can only recognize Neku because he never smiles and always wears enormous headphones.
People pretending to be other people? JEEZUS. I just hope it wasn’t me. And welcome back Laurence!
Right, my answer for the best Genesis game of all time? Well I wasn’t exactly alive. So I’m gonna have to pass on this one. :P
Finally stupid cache i had to delete. Now it works, yay!
Btw miss headphonic, i am praying right now that next weeks feedback question involves the super Nintendo. Haha, go look at my video comment.
You’re making me feel old dude!!
You’re making me feel young! My god, I should just buy all those old consoles and play right through them all. I don’t even know where the hell our SNES is, though, so I guess I’m screwed.
Man, now I feel old too, to know that I played those on their systems….
Headphonic ruins another day of mine!
So, Miss Headphonic, looks like we older guys at least managed to beat you to “first posted to this planet”. Now, who’s your daddy!?! ;)
[This commentary was brought to you by Blamco. Obviously]
@jaymz I’mwilling to bet it’s both:
A) a guy…
& B) who’s significantly older than she is :p
oh & @headphonic, roms & emulators, ‘snes9x’ is a good place to start. and thanks ;)
@Jaymz NO. NOOOOO! Do not throw down the gauntlet on this one. Please! Don’t let the intellectual level of these comments drop into a spam war for “first” before anyone’s even watched the show. PLEASE!

Exactly Joe, In our day we had to make do with stuff… Like this…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoQa1OiHlrM
Im younger than heaadphonic and I play genesis.
Joe, love the new voice. You started out all old crotchety man, moved on to wild west crazy prospector, and ended with the granny from the Loony toons tweety bird cartoons. What a ride.
Alright, truce. No more “first” wars. Eh, I just figured we were going to forget about after like a week, but I guess it’s lasted a while.
To be honest, it always ends up being a coincidence that I check it just as it gets put up. I actually forget about it most of the time until I see it. I’m starting to think I have ESP or something. 0_o

Brilliant. Brilliant. Saw it coming the moment you opened your mouth and it was brilliant right to the end.
Should I do a reply about having to type programs in from a listing in the back of a magazine that was just numbers and letters that didn’t make any sense and heaven forbid you should have trouble telling a zero from an O and have to go back over the code for hours on end just to play a game of robin hood?
Or should I go over the top and pretend like I used punch cards to do my programming with a hole punch and heaven forbid you misstype, ruin miles of paper tape and have to start over all to play a game of space wars, and we were grateful.
Either or Joe… I’m now quite intrigued at how a mid-west based (united states of) American would pull off a yorkshire accent, not that mine was executed with any great panache =/ , mind you neither was python’s :P
Did you see me trying to do an old man up above? I can’t even do that consistently. I don’t know if I’ll even get the chance to try, but if I did it would be LAUGHABLE!
Oh Laurence, I’m glad you’re back!
Favorite Genesis game of all time is the Sonic series. Especially Sonic 3! My brother and I threw a yard sale back in the day just to get enough money to go out and buy the game. They were uber expensive and I wanted it so bad that I sold my pet hamster and his kick-ass cage and ball. I missed him later but it was defenetly worth it.
The graphics were amazing and he ran so fast my eyes would go wonky every once in a while.

http://www.bytejacker.com/episodes/070

Now hold on there. Sonic 3 was a great game, but Sonic CD had the superior soundtrack.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPC8W672mXc
haha the swing time felt like the right thing to do given the tone of the music. Sadly I never got to experience Sonic CD. I had one friend that had the sega CD but he was kind of a jerk so I never frequented his home that much. The fun times were either at Mikes house or the one guy that had a Turbo Graphix 16 and Bonks Adventure. I dont remember his name but his mom would make us all home made bagel bites. (before bagel bites sold out and went commercial).
Very action packed opening animation for Sonic. Right up there with the saturday morning Sonic cartoon. Freedom Fighter for life!!!
Been a while since the kids checked in.

The audio is a bit quiet, but i think you get the idea. They’re always slightly more animated when the camera is off.
Awww sooo cute!
Ah, sonic CD man… The music was the greatest!
I thought the game play for CD was amazing too, I dont know, the switching between the past, present, and future was was awwwesome

My all-in-one video comment. Ego stroke, show response, free indies, feedback.
Free Indies: Constellation Chaos < Condition < Balloon in a Wasteland, tho this week I expect a tighter race. Not like last week's landslide victory for Specter Spelunker Shrinks. 74%! Dang. There are occasional games that just can not be beat.
Feedback: Gotta pick 3. Shadow Dancer is really good. The Immortal is even better. I wanted to replay it like you want to re-read a good novel. And finally, did you know the Genesis had Star Control 1 with extra full game scenarios? Boo-yeah.
We keep agreeing more and more…
Its haunting!
Joe, “The Immortal” was certainly a great game, but it was such a baby puncher! O_o A game you wanted to replay like you couldn’t stop poking at a wound’s crust. A sign of greatness for a game?
The Immortal wasn’t so bad… was it? Oh nostalga, you’re messing with my head again.
I meant it: it was (or should I say “it is”?) a great game. It had great isometric graphics, a nice atmosphere, the combat was satisfyingly gruesome (and the audio effects were really disgusting… *squish!* Yuk!!). But it was friggin’, old-school difficult. And cheap. There were those rooms with invisible traps you had to map, step by painful step, dying again and again (and having to start aaaaaall the way from the beginning) until you figured out the position of each and every one of them, just to step in on the next room and die another unexpected death.
Charming, really! :) The kind of game you can’t help but hate as much as you love… “just one more try!”
If I’ve got the best hair then the barbers in Utah are in serious need of retraining!! :P

Shadow Dancer FTW! Thanks for the rush of Nostalgia Joe!
Laurence, you’re a different person with that hair. Shorn suits you.
I didn’t mention this, but I never owned a Genesis either. In fact I never owned any console until I was way beyond childhood.
The thing I remember about shadow dancer was is was so strategic. There was no rushing into anything. Take your time, take it easy, take it slow. Plan out your moves. It just felt so different from anything else. The dog was also part of the strategy.
That, and you were a ninja with a frickin dog! More games need familiars that follow you around. I mean there are a few. I understand WoW has them, and Sonic 2 had Tails, but aside from those few examples. (Oh, yeah. Tales is totally Sonic’s pet. But in a world where the animals talk that’s what you get.)
Wow! What a bunch of hoops to jump through to log on here, Thanks dudes who posted as other dudes to ruin the fun.
I’ve sent my VVM to some back channels to prevent anyone from stealing my game.
I only wish I could have seen the rainbow jumpsuit in person for myself.
I used to play more to the Snes rather to the sega genesis, i remember playing on the sega…. battletoads…. a car game about crashing against the bad guy’s car…. and sonic 2, 3D blast, pinball, & knuckles…
Im still a fan of the old nes/snes, megaman, blaster master, and of course Samurai Pizza Cats! <3
So maybe i should try uploading a better video comment.
ok and damn, everyone loves sonic 3 and knuckles just as much as i do.
Anthony Carboni please do super nintendo, can you imagine how many different games people will mention?
Not to mention, i shall say super mario rpg in spite of headphonic. HAHA!
And who was saying that having a sega genesis made them feel old? I had one back then? Idk if anyone red a text comment i posted a few weeks back. I was born Janurary 22nd with a Nintendo put on my lap lol. Sega came out a little afterwards. I don’t know why it would make you feel old? I am only 22, had to deal with the whole blow in the cartridge and use a Q-tip with alcohol to make it work.
And they were over 50 bucks back then for sonic 3? Holy shaving cream i’m so lucky i was only a toddler back then.

I like to amuse myself with something funny.
Part 1 – A better video comment of my feedback answer which was Sonic 3 and knuckles.
Part 2 – Why the original Nintendo was such a pain in the ass back in the 80s.
Part 3 – Some crappy impressions of Mike myers and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
And well enjoy. Get a good laugh, reply in a funny response. I love to hear what other people have to say.
haha @ the impersonations, Russelloni :) you just gave me a run for my money, because I thought I had Dr. Evil down, but you just made me look like an amateur at it haha…good job

This episode just made me rofl for 15 minutes (no really, it did). I even laughed at the GoDaddy ad, which I normally never do.
Balloon in a wasteland, damn so addictive. I played condition somewhere before and I didn’t really like it, same with constellation.
OK, I can’t sleep and I’m bored!! so I googled Blamco, Aside from many places where This Episode of Bytejacker’s been uploaded (surprised to see it on Dailymotion of all places) ANd I found this weird infomercial

Also there’s Blamco Mac and cheese, an ingame product from fallout 3.

I LOVE TOE JAM AND EARL!
i have that downloaded on my Nintendo Wii. Good game good game, such a great classic….
BELIEVE IT!!!!
“Oh my god, Jon quit the show. You bastard.” Laughed out loud. Really. Not LOL. I actually laughed. Out loud.
Ahem.
I keep worrying that if they wanted to show us the consequences of Jon quitting the show we’d have an episode that was EDITED by Anthony… and that’s scary. Oh wait, we’ve seen that before.
Good to see you again. It has been a long time. Hope you’ve been busy making some new awesome game. But that didn’t used to be your user name. What was it? I’ve got no memory and I can’t be bothered to go track down some of your old comments. Either way, welcome back, guy who’s name I can’t remember.
Francisco Gonzalez! There you are, mentioned in the other epiosde sans Jon. (51, by the way). I linked to the first Jon-less episode up there (28) but you can’t really see it, so I’m not going to bother typing the a tags again.
Yeah, sorry Francisco. Uh, still good to see you, man.
Thanks, Joe Larson, it’s good to be back! Actually I never really went anywhere, as I’ve been watching the show every week, I’ve just been very quiet on the comments.
Also, if I may shamelessly self-promote, I have in fact recently finished a game I’ve been busy working on, a remake of one of my past games: http://www.grundislavgames.com/benjordan/case2.php
It would be really difficult to pick just one Megadrive game (yeah, Anthony, I’m one of those poor suckers XD), as that’s my all time favourite platform (sorry, Dreamcast, but you do know I love you, don’t you?). There’s SO MUCH win in the Megadrive! From the “Shining Force” series to the “Streets of Rage” series, the “Sonic” series, the “Thuder Foce” series, “Revenge of Shinobi” and “Shinobi III”, “Story of Thor”, “Toe Jam & Earl”, “Bonanza Bros.”, “Ranger X”, “Sparkster”, “BOB”, “Vectorman”, “Castle of Illusion” and “World of Illusion”, “Herzog Zwei”, “Landstalker”…
And that’s only taking into account games made exclusively for this system. So, no “Golden Axe”, “Shadow Dancer”, “Ghouls’N Ghosts”, “Gain Ground”, “Flashback” (my goodness, such an amazing game!!), “Out of this World”, “Zombies Ate My Neighbors”, “Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday”…
Hmmm… I guess I’ll go with “Gunstar Heroes” and “Rings of Power”, just because they are plain awesome, and probably are the games I played longer (and still I like to revisit every once in a while. Yup).
“Thuder Foce” series??? Nope, never heard of that one… Maybe I was trying to type “Thunder Force”? Gosh, I knew those missing fingers were going to be a problem! :P
I’m glad you mentioned gunstar heroes, but make an audio comment so we can get that one into the show. It was so good, and innovative. And Mickey’s Castle of Illusion… You know what, I knew this was going to happen. Hold on…
Click to play this video.
Gunstar Heroes, Mickey’s Castle of Illusion, Golden Axe, Out of this world, Flashback, and (drum roll please) Stellar Assault on the 32x.
Joe, awesome video! :) That’s the passion one can expect from someone who experienced the greatness of the Sega Genesis, the best. gaming. platform. ever. I mean, yeah, the Super Nintendo was ok, a tasty piece of hardware. But games-wise? You couldn’t beat the Genesis.
Never got into the add-on frenzy, though. Didn’t got the MegaCD, or the 32x. Now I’ll have to look for one at eBay just to try “Stellar Assault”. Thanks, Joe!
Oh! And I’m trying to coerce Anthony (as Jon is no more… :’( ) into including a text comment on the show, like he used to: an old-school kind of comment as the answer to a question about an old-school platform. [/silly excuse]
Come on, Anthony! You know you want to!! :D
Jeeze, the floodgates have opened on my mind this morning. I’m resisting making another video comment, but here’s a couple more:
Dick Tracy – Infamously bad on the NES, but on the Genesis it was a uniquely innovative game that took advantage of all 3 buttons to have you playing on 2 planes at once.
Zero Wing – All your base will forever belong to us. But more than that the ability to kill one enemy with another using your tractor beam was, again, innovative.
Strider – ! How could I forget this! Fighting Communist robot gorillas with nothing but a sword and a cybernetic hawk. Strider could teach Bill Rizer AND Duke Nukem a thing or two.
Space Harrier – … sorry, I can’t help falling into a trance when I think about this game. It’s transcendent.
Mortal Kombat 1 – When Mortal Monday rolled around who was the cool kids? The Super Nintendo kids with the dumbed down fatalities or the Genesis kids with the full arcade fatalities. I think we all know the answer.
Toy Story – For being a nonsequetar bunch of games all strung together by a license it was delightfully fun and playable.
I NEED HELP! SInce we talk about Sega, I have one game that i was crazy about and I can’t remember the name… What I do remember is – it was a vertical shooter, you fly on s ship you kill everything, i remember setting with beautiful semi destroyed bridges and second level if I am not mistaken was with some high-tech metropolis, and the bosses some times there were like ships or robots but some times like giant flying head or brain (?)…. I remember the title was in Japanese but I didn’t read Japanese back then, and the game was brought to me from Poland actually but…

Oh come on, Mario ? Mario better than Sonic, those two are not to be compared, I find sonic to be hell of more stylish, more dynamic, more interesting, Dr. Robotics alone was awesome, Mario on another hand had a very weak from my point background, he could do more than Sonic abilities wise but his worlds were never as cools as those where Sonic went, and here i mean Sonic 1 and 2, other games mmm, Sonic 3 and Advance 2 were not so bad but were not the level of original 2.
ok joe now your going to start a flaming war or whatever you call those things lol.
Now when you say anything Sonic can do mario can do better? Are you seriously going to say that? I’ve been through this before in the past when i was talking about super smash bros brawl in forums.
Sonic is pretty much a god when it comes to super smash bros brawl. Mario’s final smash can easily be dodged, as to Sonic turning into super sonic. He is invulnerable and cannot die. As long as he has rings, sonic is invulnerable and he cannot be damaged no matter what.
Now when talking about which is the superior game, sonic or mario. Again, for me, it is a stand off. The two shouldn’t even be comparable. Mario has it’s ups and downs and vica versa for sonic.
I like them both. I wasn’t bashing mario in those video comments, i was bashing the nintendo system because everytime i do play mario. The game resets and then i die a little on the inside. I’ve even had the same problem with the sega.
Re: Genesis Sonic vs. SNES Mario, bullet points to not equate to fun. Mario definitely had more features, but in my opinion the basic mechanics of moving, jumping, and rolling in the Sonic games (after the first one) were just much more compelling. That being said, the two games aim for completely different feels, have different sorts of level structures, encourage different kinds of play, etc. so a direct comparison between them is always going to rely on (perfectly valid) personal opinion.
Sonic 2 could easily be my choice for the best genesis game, but there’s another game I have in mind :)

Ok i will say a few things…..
1: that shirt is fucking sweet and i want it!!!
2: Ok why are we comparing Sonic the hedgehog to Super mario who isn’t even apart of Sega?
3: Mountain Dew is the best fucking soda ever made…..
BELIEVE IT!!!
Touche…well played
Well played! I digress. haha

I agree with joe on this, especially after the jump to the 3rd dimension

After recording the response I thought of something else that really puts a negative light on sonic. The whole reason for Sonics’ existence is a very shallow one. The reason he was created was to combat Mario’s platform world and take a piece of Mario’s cake. Whenever you have a franchise that rides the coattails of another franchise and dont have the forsight needed to break away later on down the road, it will always ends badly. We know SEGA was able to create some great titles even after Sonic lost its appeal but Sonics reason for living really was a shallow one.
That still doesn’t mean the original Sonic games were bad its just it didn’t have the staying power as Mario. Another game that conveyed speed really well was Rocket Knight Adventures. Basically he took Sonics speed and pointed it upward.
If i had to describe one thing that Genesis did better then the Nintendo or SNES and that is the games just seemed more fast paced and edgy whereas Nintendo had a much lighter feel to there games. Even Street Fighter 2 for genesis was cranked to 11. I know not really but it felt that way.
I agree Mario games were in a way superior to Sonic games, just the same way Metroid games were superior to Mario games: they all share a gameplay mechanic, platforms, and that’s about it; so, no, I don’t think they can be compared…
The Sonic series was all about the the thrill of the speed, and the attitude of Sonic itself; Mario games were about exploration, about finding each and every secret on each and every level. They are totally different beasts, with different objectives and different ways to achieve them, even though they were aimed at the same public. Again, as a Metroid game would be.
In the end, it all boils down to personal preference. And whether or not you have a rocket launcher. All our base are belong to you, Joe!
Joking about shirts aside, a very good argument in your video completely nullified by the text comment below it. Hah. “You really can’t compare them, they’re apple’s and oranges. Except that Sega created Sonic to compete with Mario, so you really should compare them.” I think comparison between Mario and Sonic is not only fair to do, it’s inevitable and even necessary if we are to purge the demons of our childhood.
Sonic had it’s time. There was a while there where Sonic was a more recognizable then Mario as a mascot. Sega worked very hard on that. They succeeded. But while their marketing did a great job their programming team made a game with a single trick. A single trick does not, as you said, have staying power. It’s like they made a tech demo and tried for flesh it out to a full game, and then to a series.
I agree that Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles was great. Unquestionably the pinnacle of the series. Unfortunately what’s implied by that is true, it’s all downhill from there. And unfortunately even that apex was never as high in terms of gameplay achievement or fun factor, as Super Mario World which the Nintendo kids had been playing for years by the time it came out.
Ok ok ok, Friske i agree with. We are talking about two different systems, sonic and mario. Mario being about all rescuing and collecting and Sonic being all about speed. I don’t know why they decided to throw in Mario and Sonic in like 3 games now, super smash bros, and those two Olympic games.
Though your saying Sonic had it’s time? Well why say that? sonic is still out there. All bullshit aside, we are only about 20 people out of billions of people in the whole world who think different than us. We all have our favorites, some of us like sonic and some like mario.
Now i’m not argueing about which games are better. I never once said which games were superior. I said which character was superior, that being sonic, and anyone here can agree with that because of his Super Sonic transformation.
I do like both games, though i agree with joe that the sonic series really did go downhill. Joe not once did i not agree with that.
The only thing i disagree about is that You said how much mario was better than sonic. Your one comment said oh everything sonic can do mario can do better. Which i disagree on, cause mario never stopped eggman’s spacestation from crashing down on earth or saved the city from the gigantic seamonster known as chaos.
I’ve always been into mario, i love mario, and i agree with the fact that the Mario games and becoming superior nowadays, with the whole super mario galaxy and the New super mario bros for the WII. Those games totally skyrocketed Sonic and the black knight or sonic unleashed. No doubt.
So just thought i would clear this whole arguement up and say that i never once said that sonic games are better than mario games or vica versa.
I do like this kind of arguements, this makes me feel accepted and all that junk.

Sorry, Replied there before I actually watched your whole comment.
COMIC ZONE! YES! Winwinwinwinwin! And Streets of Rage, yes. Good comment, yes.
Holy crap that looks so much better. Thank you Joe.
(Figure I got a 50/50 chance that I did that right and a 50/50 chance it’ll work, so a 1 in four chance all together. But it it does work it’ll be a laugh.)
Yeah, that didn’t work. Image tags are suppressed, Not surprising. It was me giving thumbs up.
Did you Sir just stated that the Genesis never had a good RPG title?? I demand satisfaction!
I missed that line the first time. What about Phantasy Star II? I remember watching that game at the time and being impressed that the combat took place in 3rd person over the shoulder, as opposed to every final fantasy at the time where your party and the opponent party separated by a two column layout. It really gave the combat a different feel. And the story, a mix of fantasy and science fiction was super impressive. The ending was a little bit over the top [spoilers]with everyone randomly being teleported to the boss to die in a final standoff.[/spoilers] But it was a great RPG.
“Phantasy Star II” was a great game, as was “Phantasy Star IV”. And then you have great strategy RPGs (the “Shining Force” series, the “Langrisser” series), action RPGs (“Landstalker”, “Story of Thor” -that I think was even better than “The Legend of Zelda” (incoming flames!!), and I absolutely loved that Zelda game-), and traditional RPGs (“Might & Magic: Gates to Another World”, “Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday” -an adapted version of this game’s namesake for the IBM PC, by TSR-).
But my preferred RPG for the Genesis, and one of the best games the system had to offer (in my opinion, of course) was “Rings of Power”, by Naughty Dog (yes, the guys behind the “Uncharted” series). A huge game, with an enormous world full of detail waiting to be explored. It’s like the grand-daddy of the “Elder Scrolls” series: you’re given a task at the beginning of the game, and are then set free on the world of Ushka Bau to accomplish it any way you can. Brilliant.
Granted, some of them had really awful production values, even by that time’s standards, but what they lacked in polish, they sure offered in amazing experiences, back in a time where we were more used to fill any holes with our imagination, anyway.
And, 3 or 4 years ago, a company by the name “Super Fighter Team” released “Beggar Prince”, a new RPG for the Genesis that looks like great fun, and that I’ve been chasing pretty unfruitfully around the net for some time, now.
Yet, eventually, it shall be mine…
I’m surprised no one mentioned altered beast yet. That was a fun and hard game altogether.
Because Altered Beast wasn’t very good, Matt. It just came with the system so everyone played it, and some people actually beat it. But the controls were stiff and at times dodgey, Granted it was better when you had a buddy over playing multiplayer coop, but after the dragon level kills you for the 30th time you cease to call the game “good”.
I didn’t say it was good, i said it was fun and hard. Kept me entertained for a good whole 5 minutes till i broke the controller.
Weeee…. after struggling to get the wretched login system to recognize my account I am on the system. Whoopie!
This weeks rapid fire:
-Condition: I am just tired of Mario-esk side scrolling games. This one looked pretty slick, and the story seemed interesting, but so what? I have developed a rule, if I have to repeatedly press next to follow a story, I close out the game. not interested.
-Constellation Chaos: It just didn’t live up to my initial glance. I like the style, I even liked the basic game play. But after 20 mins without finishing a round I had to pack it in. It was like playing a bad early 80′s arcade game.
- Balloon in a Waste Land: This is the clear winner this week. Despite being “Yet Another Tower Defense Game” this one proved to be fun. The artistic style was stunning. The bad guys unique. And the power ups came often enough to keep the game fun while still being a challenge. The only down side is that the difficulty plateaus pretty quickly. Once I had the top machine gun I was invincible. I would like to see the game progressively speed up and throw more bad guys at you, even after “day 5″.
Feed back answer: The only game I really remember for the Genesis was Sonic. And I have to agree with Joe. Sonic was a welcome departure from Mario, but after too carts of pinball style racing around to collect rings I lost interest.

To be honest, probably the only thing that MIGHT be used for the show is the feedback at the end. Other than that, I didn’t feel like any games were particularly amazing or terrible (I still have yet to play Balloon in a Wasteland properly, as I felt I wasn’t able to get as far using my laptop).
So, you’re a dog you say, or should that be….
(wait for it)…
A bitch!! (runs) :P
OH SNAP!!
Awwwwww, shit’s goin DOWN up in hurr.
Keep in mind, Headphonic, he’s Scottish. Meaning that word, while it does have negative connections there, is not the taboo it is here. Kinda like “bloody.” Doesn’t bother us, in fact it’s one of those words you say when you want to sound like your cussing but don’t want to actually, but I saw an Australian Bishop tense up at the wheel when I asked him for clarifying purposes how “bad” that word was. It was kinda funny, actually. Maybe I’ll tell you the whole story some time, tho I kinda ruined the punchline.
I’m not gonna apologise, after all after this kinda skull duggery…

… Well I’m glad I stayed out of this one.
… I’ll agree with Joe though, and that video comment was pretty adorable. I had a webcam thing like that but it was much much worse, it kept thinking my eyes were the top of my mouth, or my shoulder is the places hats go.
I think the only one I got working was this one where it gives the person an afro, which really made me want to grow out an afro.
And then I would remake Shaft, but more Cuban!

Here’s the ugly truth about my childhood and the SEGA Genesis, plus the thoughts of a few of my co-workers.
I’m starting to wonder what a Jon-hosted show would be like.
But anyways, from what I’m hearing of Sega, I’d also have gone with the Super Nintendo if I was alive.
It would be a disaster! :) Hilarious though!
That pretty much was a Jon hosted show. It was just in the comment section.
Jon, Takin’ it to the streets. If I had a decent pocket camera I could probably do the same thing here in downtown Provo or somewhere. That’d be a hoot. Take up a lot of time, tho.
Jon? What Exactly is your dayjob man (I’m guessing cameraman/editor) and if you’re willing to disclose it what company’s it for? you’ve got a sound bunch of colleagues there, I’m pretty much the only one in my Line of work in my area of the world who’s willing to expose himself as a tech/gamer geek along the levels of anyone here or among your colleagues :(
Dude that video comment was just the best i’ve seen.
“Did he say GET TO THE CHOPPER!!”
No that was predator.
of course it was predator man!! lol

OH MY GOD! please make fun of me or something i need a good laugh lol
Yeah, let’s hear some more from Chris, the real “geek with issues”! He loved “Royal Rumble” because you could beat the referee, and “True Lies” (which, I think was pretty lousy) was great because it allowed you to kill civilians… Charming guy, really! :)
It was actually a great video comment, Jon! It would be great to have another one like that next week, even if the truth about your job was a little disappointing (I thought you guys might be into private security, or something like Blackwater!).
Being a cameraman on a tv show is a cool job, in fact, and probably more than one of us would gladly give a co-workers’ right arm to get into such a job :D
Keep it up!!
I liked the comment, yeah, the whole recording on your way to work thing was a good dynamic, I like it. Once you got to work it was… yeeeee…I’d want a little bit more than that. I mean if it’s just you getting those guy’s comments every week just make them get their own web cam and call into the show or something. What I would like to see is you asking total strangers on the street the questions, that’d be killer… and I’m guessing never gonna happen.
Ah thanks man, appreciate your honesty, BTW as a “reality TV” camera guy looking to get into editing, it might be worth taking a few hints from the afforementioned Charlie Brooker, (of gameswipe fame and who I seem to mention and link to on every week’s comment board) you may know a lot of it already, but you’ll still get a good laugh
here he is on editing a reality show ie a cheap spoof version of Big Brother…

After months of watching I finally decided to throw my hat into the ring with my video response (since I was able to play each of the games this time on my Mac.)
I also forgot to mention the videogame I would like to see as a board game, I think that Bioshock as some type of Arkham Horror or Talisman board game would be fantastic, would also allow for a beautiful board game design.
Dude, welcome to the show. Awesome hat. When you got up in the middle there I though you were gonna freak out when you looked out the window and come back to tell us that the kids are after your lucky charms.
Lol, thanks for the welcome Joe, I got that hat a month ago while I’ve been here in London. Re: me going to the door, I don’t have the colors or accent to be worried about kids stealing any charms at all, it was a failed attempt to reference balloon in a wasteland, if i wasn’t worried about neighbors complaining about noise I would have said everything much louder.
Love your hat dude! You get in the show on that alone! I actually like that idea of game to board games. It’s been tough coming up with new questions recently as we’ve asked pretty much everything. Maybe we’ll put that one on the side for the future.
Since you’ve mentioned it and a few others have mentioned the Nintendo question, we’d love to hear suggestions from you guys about what you’d like to see in feedback.
Feel free! Woohoo!!
I welcome you, as well, not only to bytejacker, but to these bankrupt beurocracy-smothered bunch of atlantic islands. :P
What brings you over here, Work? Travel? and how long you been here? :)
You guys need a feedback question wheel. On one wheel is “What is your favorite…”, “What was the worst…”, “What is your guiltiest…”, “What ___ do you wish were made?” etc. Just take every past feedback question and break it up. Then on the inside wheel you have “NES game”, “classic game”, “genesis game”, “next gen game”, “text game”. Then “feedback question wheel, turn turn turn. Tell us the question we should ask.”
I’m waiting to answer the board game feedback question until it’s an actual feedback question, but, oh, I’ve got an answer.
That’s a great idea Joe. Unfortunately the wheel idea is done on Backyard FX which is another show that we’ve worked with before and love. But we could come up with something similar. I like where you’re going with the idea though. We’ll try to come up with somehing. Good idea! Keep em coming.
@Jon Thanks Jon! That’s exciting, I get my video comment in the first time I post one (which will make that 3 appearances on 3 different Rev3 shows :-D), and if you like silly hats I have a whole lot of them that I can use, but I shall space them out over time and save some of that heat for later. Also here are some other questions that I’ve thought of as well. Best dressed game character? If you could only play one genre of videogame for the rest of eternity which would it be? What game do you love that eveyone else hates, or what game do you think deserves a second chance? What has been your favorite game mechanic created? If you could get an exact update of any game in history with modern day graphics, what game would it be and why?
@Laurence Thanks for the welcome Laurence, I’ve been in London since Jan studying abroad, and I’ll be going back home to Westchester NY in about 10 days, I’m so sad I wish I could live in London forever.
Was going to say you need to watch out, once you get included in the show it can be habit forming, but it looks like you’ve already been sucked in.
What other Rev3 shows have user feedback? Truth is I was watching bytejacker before it was a Rev 3 show and I just haven’t gotten into all the others. Even Co-op the format just doesn’t thrill me, a bunch of people all sitting around talking to each other… meh.
Here’s a feedback question suggestion: What’s the best video game couple?
When I suggested the wheel thing I was thinking about the “Wheel of Morality” from the Animaniacs. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xv6IWX1_XHQ) You guys could just take all these suggestions and put them in a hat.
I too was on 2 other revision 3 shows. The far too irregular epicfu(.com) when it was part of the Rev 3 network till the tail end of 2008.
And i once asked a video question on Tekzilla, wanted to know how PDF’s could be put on a kindle 2 as I was giving serious thought to importing one, Can’t remember which episode number it was but Kevin rose was in place of Patrick norton.
oh and How in the Name of Jesus Jobbies and Joseph could you afford to Live and study in London?!?! you must be seriously out of pocket even after this relatively short spell. I consider myself to earn what many people consider, good money in my Offshore engineering job, however I could never afford to live in London =/
Nice questions there dude. I’ll put a few of those on the side. A few you mentioned, we’ve actually done.

Moderate on the rambling scale today. See you guys next week.
A good thing about the Wii is that it gives us a chance to play classic games that we missed out on. I too as a youth had to choose between going Nintendo or Sega. Nintendo was the safer bet in rural and suburban areas because they were able to get the games out there. Sega games were a little harder to find. As a kid mail order was a bit leery to me.
Sega is proud of their games and seems to have released most of them either as downloads or on best of discs.
They are actually coming out with a sonic game for the DS which is like sonic mega collection.
Think it will have sonics 1-3 and sonic and knuckles. I’ll get that cause i would like to play those games on a handheld.
HOLY SHIT JON YOU WORK FOR SAY YES TO THE DRESS?! :O That, and Ace of Cakes, are the two shows I have a strange addiction to. And I think you should definitely keep up with the video comment mini-shows.
For what its worth, I’ll formally give my take on this (actually joe I’m Italian by birth, but have lived here in Scotland since I was 3 )
I meant it in jest but i made that comment because first of all, Headphonic these last few weeks has been indulging in some kind of cocksure “first to comment trollathon” where she did revert to name calling at one point. (see the comment I linked to earlier) and I thought a bit of a cheeky put down from one of us was in order. And Because of her “disguise” I just put 2 and 2 together, especially given what the literal meaning of bitch is, as well as the slang… :P
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/bitch
Oh, yeah, I know the meaning of the word Laurence. Most “vulgar” words have a mundane origin. Did you know the “f” word used to mean the digging of a hole in the ground with a long stick for the purposes of planting a seed?
re: “bitch” here in America, it has become so vulgar as to be taboo to call a girl bitch there is no greater insult. The only people who are allowed to use that word casually is those in the canine breeding profession, and then only among their canine breeding friends.
@Joe Re The F word, Based on what you said there, I’ve tried to do a bit more digging on it’s origin ( Ie searching on google). “I’m beginning to believe that the “fornication under consent of the king” acronym is just an urban myth. However It has become so internationally renowned ,as described here by Billy Conolly…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q41eoZXDb64
Digging around a bit more According to the following vid (apologies for the cock teasing nature of it from someone who’s clearly a pretender to Marina Orlova’s throne) we can also trace it’s routes down through several european languages,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzllS0h–80
However I do want to see that documentary that Billy conolly appeared in.

@Headphonic – Thats funny that you watch the show. Most women love it! I think it’s funny how I work on a show with video games and another with wedding dresses. I’m like a walking oxymoron. Look for my name in the credits next time you watch, if you need proof. You’ll probably see me in the show in a mirror or something, I make it in all the time.
So i hear Anthony carboni is being replaced in this weeks episode. So can i be in the episode and fake my death again lol?
I’m thinking Beardy McNevershaves is going to make a return appearance.
Ah well, 1 day till we find out.
@Jon – I find it hilarious now that I realized where you guys are in the video. You can see the dresses in the back and everything. It’s comforting to think that, even in that estrogen-filled environment of spoiled little brides and their pretty dresses, video games are still talked about.
And headphonic, I’m sure one day you’ll have your own day with estrofen saturation, pretty dresses, and I hope you’re discussing video games with your bridesmaids and husband to be.
Tho it would be some sort of justice if if you ended up head over heals for a beau who just didn’t get the video game thing. Kinda like most of us guys. Tho to be fair, my wife does play video games with me, but my tastes have changed somewhat. I no longer enjoy the FPS gore-fest. Instead I prefer something sillier or more colorful. In truth I always have preferred the silly and colorful, but I tolerated the violence simulators because the games were popular. Now I don’t. But I’m getting more co-op in.
Sorry, went off a bit there.
or it could go the other way, she could get spliced in a themed wedding, thinking off the top of my head, you could have bride and groom as mario and Princess peach, Or Link and Zelda. can anyone think of any other examples?
and all the guests have to come along dressed as videogame charachters!! now there’s a thought for starting up own business, a geeky/nerdy wedding planner :P
@Joe, I think this bout of “moderation” has caused the comments that should be joined together to appear on the own for whatever unknown reason.
I will also state that I’ve developed a pretty sick sense of humor that’s made me desensitised to a lot of taboos, no matter where in the world they originate from, largely thanks to my job which has me in remote, harsh, and often unsafe industrial environments, and as a result there’s a lot of “banter” flying back and forth not just among the men, but with the women who are crazy enough to join us out there as well.

It’s still monday right? I don’t remember if it needs to be in by sunday 12 am or monday 11 pm. So, anyways, crossing fingers here.
By the way, we never really finished it. We would get like, one or two pieces to go, and give up for some reason or another. Ah well. It was a toss up between this one and the sequal. But I gave it to this one because, I think we all played it.
There was a level 0 on “ToeJam and Earl”?? Oh my gosh!! It was definitely a great game, and one which displayed such an amount of imagination (and quirkiness) that’s still rarely equaled, let alone surpassed. I loved the Hawaiian girls, that forced your character to dance the hula with them. And the giant hamsters in a ball. And the guy dressed as a carrot. It’s as crazy as it is brilliant!
By the way, “we would stay up late, playing that game all the way up to level number whatever”. Yup, that’s “ToeJam and Earl” alright :)
Oh loveleh, my eyes are closed. At least I don’t sound/look like a druggie this time.
Wacky, my replys still aren’t showing up, coould just be me though.
Man, and all these conversations are missing my charismatic whit and charm.
And Irony? :P
Yep, there’s a level 0 alright. I forget which corner of the map the holes are in level 1 are. But it was mostly the south west corner most of the time. Ah yes, the hula girls, the hamster, the lawn mower man, the tornado, I think there was even a fake elevator. Lemme check to see if the spriters resource has an enemy sheet on it.
But otherwise, yeah, really great co-op play. Not so much on the sequal. The sequal was a okay platformer. It’s catch was controlling both characters at once. Which many 2d/3d games still do not have very good luck with. The only other person I see with follower of some sorts in their game is Dr.James ‘Tormshire’. Other then that, I haven’t seen it anywhere else much. Plus, it had those secret doors too. And those darn boogeymen. Those were some of the most annoying enemies on there.
Oh yes, nerd packs, phantom ice cream trucks, man eating mail boxes, police chickens, and couldn’t find it. Oh well. That’s what I mostly remember.
BTW I decided to do a little moderating on some of the subject matter that will not be named. Don’t be offended everyone, I just figured it’s best to leave it in the past.
It was like the pink elephant in the middle of the room, so I took the elephant out back and put a bullet in it’s head. Now there’s no more elephant.
. . . . and we all lived happily ever after
. . . . except the elephant.
It is like the pink elephant, like the one from the simpsons. I believe the episode when they developed a new type of beer other than Duff beer.
Barney drinks the New beer and a new weird character comes out, freaks out, drinks the Duff beer and the Pink elephant comes out and smashes the other one.
“Thanks, you were always there for me.”
Yeah the pink elephant just busted in and kick ass, just like the new movie.
I approve of this course of action.
I didn’t realize I was here as you were doing the edits. i thought if a comment was up it was still fair game and tried making an intellectual response to a comment that got moderated as I was writing it. Please feel free to kill my comment in reply to another one of these comments that I just made. I do not feel bad. in fact I feel better about it.
You know me. I was just trying to smooth things over.
And i just like to defend my honor and make sure that other bytejacker on here don’t get too pissed at me for small mistakes.
you know what I find hilarious? *grins* what I saw maybe in the middle of this discussion area. a dog talking as a girl? holy manoly…ohhhh and also? *slaps hand to forehead* I’m totally rude…allow me to introduce myself, so I don’t see a number of comments after this going ‘who the hell are you, and where in the world did you come from’…I’m just going to say this: Hi, everyone, I’m Kim. I was sucked into the vortex of sanity by joining the group. I just like gaming. But some of the games that I’ve seen in the episodes, I totally never heard about. If I told you all what I’ve played in the past, you’d shake your head…I have played Sonic…that would be the Hedgehog games, but if I’m not correct, please refrain from embarrassing me…also, I have played Super Mario (the 6 golden coins was a BLAST!), and about a few years ago, I was completely into Dungeons and Dragons, like roleplaying face to face…I’m not excited about it, mostly because my character kept dying and what not lol..I sucked at it, what can I say, I was a beginner and was never completely taught the correct way. Also, if I had my way, I’d go BACK to The Sims. That was funny, as my house gotten broke into MORE than once lmao
I ramble, and you’ll see that from me. and I apologize if I’m suddenly like jumping in a discussion that I made my way into, but nothing worse than keeping quiet about a dog and girl issues…I just HAD to throw in my 2 cents about that.
And a welcome to you too kim :) Glad you enjoy this weekly yomp through downloadable and indie gaming.Get yourself a webcam and some funny software for it, and you could be a… errrr
*restrains self*….
dog on camera too :P
please tell me this goes right underneath what I’m replying to…anyway, ohhhh, my God, now I’ve heard it all…and it’s a female dog (alternate to the b-word, because I’m censoring myself)…get it right, Laurence. :) I could possibly even be a frog, if I wanted to…THEN what would you all do?? heh heh I feel like giving you all warts, anyway…*stares at screen* and a female frog in my eyes is a ‘fritch’ *laughs hard* ty in advance, I’ll be here all week…but back on track here…even though I haven’t heard any of those games, they sound snazzy…oh, they do…and I have ways of recording video, but I don’t know if anyone’s ready to see my ugly mug on here yet :-P just kidding, I find myself quote adorable…but that’s because I’m self-centered :-P haha, again, I’m just playing. but I do like myself, which is a FAAAAAR cry from 5 years ago…but I digress…and I like you all to call me Kim…that’s cool, because I don’t know if I want to be called shawty all the time
and then I realized that my username is linked to my personal myspace account…I’m a retard, so it doesn’t bother me if you all know my last name and where I live, anyway…I have no secrets and nothing to hide.

Because I have not yet gotten into viddler (have to find out why I can’t get on there), so you all will just have to see it this way…because I don’t want to embed the video on here, and have it not work…soooo
oh, and from what I hear…yo, you can be ANY age to be a gamer…early 20′s, late teens, late 20′s…heck, I even know someone who’s in their late 30′s STILL playing games like Sonic in the Sega world or Mario from Nintendo. Don’t be cruel.
And the guy walking in the background…yes, that’s my dad, so..yeah…you HAVE to see me, I get all up about Super Mario Bros 3 and the cloud level and what not. Yeah.
Viddler’s a little weird when trying to sign up via the video comment button below. We’ve found that if you go to viddlers site and sign up there directly then log in via the video comment button below then it should work. That’s what I had to do. I know it’s a pain but once you’re signed up, you’re set to go for life! hear me, FOR LIFE!!
Welcome BTW!
well, I figured that was what the mess was about *sighs* okay, I will go through that mumbo jumbo and do that then…thanks Jon! :) haha, FOR LIFE, you say? :-P and thanks for the welcome…and thanks Hunter :D yeah, this is my second day on here, and I have to say, I’m actually glad to have found some people that are like me…just into the whole gaming world…speaking of which…do computers ACTUALLY think they’re going to overrun the human population? I mean, you see those mini robots that clean up after you, like ASIMO…and I’m like ‘there is NO way that they are going outdo us…no way!’ :)
Welcome too, by the way. And yep, that’s how I got my viddler account working. I’ve only been commenting a couple of weeks now too. You get used to it.
How the heck do I get an avatar though? I don’t see it on the site admin button gui anywhere so far.
