is it on the playstation network this zenogears or w/e?
And sucks ass that i don’t have friends like that who would……buy me WoW, and pay 2 months free. God dammit man i would play it if they did.
I picked FF7, but i am wondering if anyone is going to pick Metal Gear Solid for the PS1. That was a good game.
unfortunately, Xenogears is not on the US PSN, there’s a bunch of stuff that happened with the original creator of the story and Square having some issues, Basically, the creator wanted to do more games in the story, but Square felt that the game didn’t sell well enough. When the creator decided to go to Namco to put out the sequels, Square blocked his ability to use any of the characters and likenesses from the original game. That’s why, though decent, the Xenosaga games were not as good as the original game.
oh man that really sucks ass. I wanted to try it
Wow, this episode is one of the top 10, possibly in the top 3. Awesome.
Wow, 3 games I have not heard of. This will somewhat delay my video comment.
That and being at work already.
Got an awesome answer for this weeks feedback question, tho. That’ll come as soon as can.
My favorite PSX game is, by far, Naughty Dog’s Crash Bandicoot series. I know it fell into disarray right afterward, and is now a complete mess, but for the PSX that game was tight. It literally defined my childhood, and I would be a different person without it.
Yes, I think it was one of the series that really stayed amazing on the ps1, even the racing one was awesome.
And Spyro was great too. Too bad they all went off the deep end after ND left them in the cold….
Filled out the survey… long ass survey :P
Agreed, that thing took much longer than I expected. When is Revision3 going to learn that all I care about is Jon’s winning smile and sardonic wit?
Really pumped by Chris’s picks this week. I was playing Give up, Robot all weekend and thinking what a great appetizer it was for the impending Bit.Trip Runner.
The only two PSX games I was ever passionate about were Marvel Super Heroes and MTV Music Generator. Guess I need to do a video comment gushing about a live music sampling videogame!
Too long and my reward was a clip of people I don’t care about. And Jimmy Fallon. Who’s in a whole different league of don’t care.
That’s alright, don’t mind them getting some data. I know how important that is.

Tough decision, favorite game for the original playstation. Well atleast someone else knows what their favorite game is.

And then the answer hit me like a ton of bricks. Jeez i must lay off the pot or something.
I have a thought for next next weeks feedback question. A thought bubble popped up in my mind the other day while looking up code for my game, when the thought struck me. Anthony plays games, and he plays indie games, but I don’t ever remember the guy saying anything about MAKING his own game. I mean, really, a guy that heralds independently created games and has not made one himself? Instead of ponder the thought, I pose this question: What game do you think that anthony would make if he could make any game? Sorry bout the rambling but I just thought it’d be interesting to discuss.
Oh, one more thing.
About that loser syndrome. Heres a good way to kick it. In halo especially, since I generally suck at multiplayer, I have given myself little victory conditions that I abide by to not spoil the fun. For instance, I must get at least 1 kill per game, regardless of the game being played. So long as I got that 1 kill, I can mess around, act stupid, jump off cliffs, nade/snipe people, be a nuscience, yadda yadda. I gotta get that kill though first, then I can have fun, and not be a complete loser after losing/scoring bad.
Sheesh, I’m rambling today. Maybe I’ll have more significant contributions later.
So another comment by me and Allie! And being a PS1 generation, its gonna be haaaard to pick
Megaman x4? Megaman 8? Or a game I finally got around to beating, the crazy awesome Chrono Cross, that I really wish it didn’t end?
Thanks alot bytejacker, I was hoping for an easy question like “How cool is megaman” or “Why is megaman so cool”
Maybe next week….
ON a side note, awesome episode, super excited for the games, though Spectre, 173mb? Maybe I’ve just gotten used to these games that take no space whatsoever.
I wouldn’t do megaman games, i mean when the question was…….Favorite super nintendo game, i picked megaman X3 and i didn’t see my pick on there.
I think those two, meaning, anthony and jon, i think they dislike the blue robot. Think about it though.
But, never played chrono cross, i know that is suppose to be the sequel to Chrono Trigger, but just didn’t play Trigger till it came out for the DS. So i do understand the plot though, Something with that female being absorbed by Lavos or some crap idk. I just know that the true final boss in Trigger, which was actually a secret boss, is kind of the same final boss in Chrono cross. I think, i could be wrong though, i’ve seen videos.
I mean look at this final boss

Then look at this boss from Trigger.

So difference being, the name, time devourer and dream devourer. How sad lol
By the way, why the hell did they decide to do the new two megaman games into 2D. Megaman 9 and 10. Now come on, i’ve waited years and years for them to make them for PS2 or something but then i get this 2D crap. I downloaded 9, but 10 i won’t even bother…….SHEEPMAN!! how about diarrhea shit man!!!
BTW X4 is awesome, but i still can’t beat sigma with fucking Zero. One day though one day, i shall see it he falls…..
I promised my self and others that I would never argue on the internet again…
Not after last time… Not… after…
*Deep breath* So many… lost…
But Anyway, Megaman 9-10 were ment for gamers like “me”, and others who enjoyed megaman when he was in his 2-3s. After seeing things like sonic going down hill, and more and more megaman spin offs that noone really cared about, they decided to bring back the original Blue Bomber. Hard as 2 with a not so amazing story or bosses but amazing music, it was like….
Say if you had a dog that you loved very much, but he passed away when you were young. You tried to replace him with other dogs in the same family, but noone really hit the spot. Then, the revive your old dog, with everything you loved, and some new tricks while he was away.
Thats what it was like for me anyway. And thanks, that was a great analogy.
(On a side note, Time devourer came first, that dream shit was only made for the DS. And yes, its the same guy anyway, Lavos + Shala = Dream devourer = Time Devourer. And if you were wondering, that was one of the most nerdiest things i’ve said in my life, only second a previous discussion about what if Fei long had a Megaman suit, which is my new, personal heaven.)
By the way, In the past Jon and/or Anthony have expressed great love for the megaman series and megaman x4 specifically.
I’m baaaaaack! And wow, the games look great for this week. Looking forward to playing them. Also, great episode as usual.
There are already a ton of Asterix games.

Yeah she’s peaking in. She’s a little camera shy.
Video above was free indies feedback, by the way.
This one is the question of the week.

And like Columbo, “just one more thing.”
Has everyone played Werewolfs and Wanderer? I want you all to give it a fair shake because you love me. And because I know it has several problems that I just can not go back and fix right now, but that I promise to do better in the next one.

Saying this is awesome wont begun to explain my feeling towards this game.
Awesome. Capital A.
Excellent job, Joe. Have you seen the youtube streetfighter? it’s hysterical.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPQ1XrllZmA&annotation_id=annotation_783908&feature=iv
Of course I’ve played Youtube Street Fighter. It’s brilliant from a technical standpoint. The shear number of possibilities he had to account for. But on the other hand is it fun to play? Do you really play it? It’s not like you can ever really lose if you screw up. It’s the first youtube video where you can just button-mash to win. Not saying I don’t like it because the guy who put it together is just plain awesome. You should get to know his work.
you are correct, of course. There is no way to lose unless you try.
Video comment later today, and holy… This week threw me for a loop.
Cant wait to finish it.

Seriously, if you haven’t played Chrono Cross, play it. Its the best ps1 game on the face of the earth.

So we did have Chrono Trigger remade for the DS nintendo system. So what of Chrono Cross?
I’m right there with ya Cameron’ with Chrono Cross. It brings me back every time someone mentions it and I’ll never forget the opening song that will always be my favorite song from a video game EVER!
I saw it performed live this year at Video Games Live in NYC and it was truly incredible!
As for your comment, I’m glad you were able to sneak away to record it but I’m afraid the audio’s difficult to hear.

Response to Jon, but seriously, that opening song…

And no russ, I don’t think Chrono Cross should be remade just because I don’t believe in remakes so much. I don’t know, what would be the point, Chrono Cross was already the best game ever made, doesn’t need to be polished or need any new addons.

Not much fanfare to this one, I’ll sneak back quietly.
