We had just watched the Greedo scene so Andrew said at first “His belt saved him.” Then he pantomimed Solo shooting Greedo from the hip.
Then after I asked him he described a game he made up with his lego where he’s trying to kill sand people, transforming sand people.
As usual, amazing episode, guys !
The event looked sick, I’m sad to be missing stuff like that, not being in NY/The States and all…
Anyway, I remember playing my first gameboy games at my cousins’ when it came out… Mario and Batman… Those were the days.
I actually never got a proper original gameboy until 6 years ago, working in a videogames shop. Memories rush.
And congrats on that 100th episode ! Quite a milestone !

Totally respect your opinion on Streemerz, and I see why you mentioned the things you did, but I felt completely the opposite. I loved all of the dialogue, and felt comfortable with the no-jump-button platforming style that the game had. I don’t know if it was unlocked from going through the game once, but the Distractionware VVVVVV playthrough with the Dr. character was almost better than the first play through. Streemerz gets my vote :)
Also, spot on with Binary. I liked the semi-polished look of the overworld (which unfortunately occupied your eyes for 2% of the time playing the game) but past that, a standard puzzler.

I spend quite a bit longer on Streamerz than I wanted to, but that’s because it’s a complicated….eh… it’s involved. Skip to 2:30 if I start to bore you.
Voting form is still only on the front page. I suppose with Anothony in California (again) that won’t get fixed until he gets back, but I’m gonna keep hapring on it until Anthony fixes it or he tells me he’d really rather leave it where it is. And there had better be some good reasoning for that.
Um… just rewatched the video to check accuracy. Derek Yu made Spelunky, not Cave Story. Oops.
And I forgot to mention that another reason Madtris gets my vote is because more quirky games need a capella soundtracks.

Wow, I had to do a double take when I heard my name and saw MADRIS in the Free Indie Rapid Fire. I enjoy the show, and am tickled by the surprise of having my game up this week. Thanks Bytejacker! And thanks to everyone playing, voting, and leaving feedback. Keep up the great work!

Oh, come on ^_^’… A puzzle game, a tetris-ish game, and a grappling hook game. Three kinds of games I don’t like… Don’t hate me, I just find it hard to really get into any of these. I did play MADRIS a little longer than the others, it’s clever, but just not my type of game.

If i could make a crossover game, it would have to be a remake of Kingdom hearts 1 and 2 but replace the disney characters with nintendo characters.
I would atleast like to see a game like this, Super smash bros brawl is one in this category with it’s subspace adventure game, with it’s own bosses like tabuu. The only problem is that i thought that storyline was just boring. They threw in every character in the most random way. And at the end Sonic the hedgehog randomly comes in and attacks tabuu.
I don’t wanna see a game like that, i’d like to see nintendo collide with final fantasy. Final fantasy did have it’s games on the nintendo entertainment system. Though just imagine, I think kingdom hearts would of been a masterpiece if they took out the disney characters. Nintendo has plenty of princesses to use, Peach, daisy, and zelda. And a whole lot of variety of worlds to explore. Hyrule (imagine Sora riding on epona and using his keyblade to slash at the bad guys). Super mario galaxy (Sora would be riding a yoshi and flying through space without a spaceship. How cool is that?). Finally you can throw in megaman. Sora could have a megaman body armor similar to when he was in space paranoids, fight off 3D looking robot masters and take on Dr. Wily. My opinion, this would of blown the original out of the water. Unless teenage boys are more into disney nowadays. Disney is more for the females, come on now. I hate watching the little mermaid.
I think Kingdom Hearts would have been better without the Square characters :\
You didn’t see anybody from the old Final Fantasies because those were actually good and Square is doing everything they can to distance themselves from their good games or crush their reputations.
My somewhat embarrasing first gameboy memory, Madris for free indie, and a first/3rd person charachter Multiplayer mashup.
OH, and Blanka went into hiding without me realising this week :P he’ll be back next week though :P

Also, Katamari Damacy vs. Chibi-Robo! Do it!
At first I was thinking “katamari vs Chibi”… okay, but it needs a third. Some third element that… “On a Collosus”. There it is!
So the Chibi-Robo is on the Colossus, too small to be noticed, is knocking stuff off the Colossus. The prince is collecting the bits with the ball until the colossus has lost enough and the prince has gained enough to take on the colossus.
This is gonna put a grin on my face all day.
Oh my good. Dude. That’s amazing. Someone call Nintendo, Namco and Team Ico to clear this OUTSTANDINGLY AWESOME idea. I’d say we should just make a cheapy little indie version if Flixel, but there’s no way it could contain all of the WOW of this concept.
