Frank sets up hidden cameras around the Revision3 office to show everyone what it’s like to work with Anthony. The results are nightmarish, SURPRISING NO ONE.
We’re also taking a look at Stacking, Double Fine’s latest adventure game for Xbox 360/PS3. It’s about Russian nesting dolls, because Double Fine is awesome and weird.

RADAR: Stacking Review
I love Double Fine. While their games can be a bit uneven, you can’t say that’s because of a lack of original ideas. Take their latest, Stacking. It’s an adventure game about Russian nesting dolls caught in the middle of a child labor crisis during the Depression. I can safely say I have not seen that attempted before.
Adventure, PS3/XBLA, Double Fine, $15
Tuesday: I Want You off the Set

Feedback: Best Non-Human Video Game Hero
So, last week we asked you who the best non-human video game hero… and not a single person answered Sonic the Hedgehog. Which, like, I mean… points for originality here, guys, but not ONE of you? Weird.
This week’s question: What’s your favorite Tim Schafer game?

Is Stacking only $10 on XBLA? It’s definitely $15 on PSN, which is why I opted for Explodemon! instead last week (I will obviously play Stacking eventually, like all Tim Schafer games. Costume Quest stole my damn heart).
Good catch – Stacking actually is 1200 points ($15) on XBLA. Which totally triggers my “COME OOOOONNNNN, WHY ISN’T IT $10″ kneejerk, but I think I’ll still have to give the demo a try. It’s charm is straight-up undeniable.
If I was a Metal Gear villain, my name would be Typo Platypus. Fixed in the description and on YouTube… not much to be done about in-video at this point.
Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake.

If you need help answering this weeks question, here’s a list of games with links for you to peruse:
http://www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/developerId,1365/
Of course, I already know what my choice is going to be.
Thanks for the list, now I know how much Game FAIL I have. I’ve played none of those.
Check the credits first. Schaffer used to be a big wig at Lucas arts, so while he’s may be credited in a game it might not have been for doing more than not actively sabotage the project. (Check the credits.) In other words he had next to nothing to do with all the Star Wars games.
Just read the credits before picking your “Tim Schaffer” game.
YES! STAR WARS EPISODE 1 POD RACER!
Nah, seriously, Maniac Mansion was ground-breaking. Played that game over and over for years. Marvelous soundtrack, to boot.
who is Tim Schafer???
Not that I have what they call young ears, but, man. Not cool giving no warning about ‘Throttle’ being not safe for work. I saw one screenshot on Indiegames and knew that was enough. But, dude, video and everything with no warning? Not cool! Just my 2 cents.
I didn’t warn because there’s really nothing anymore unsafe than anything else we usually show/say/do. The characters are 8-bit, cartoony and androgynous – definitely safer than my usual loud cursing/jerky behavior.
If nearly naked man running around town on all fours with loose innuendo is not safe for work, then you, good sir, need to find a new line of work.
Ahahaha, I love the Bill O’Riley bit.

FIRF feedback.
Hot Throttle: No. Cactus weirdness (do not want) with a race game i can’t win. No and fail.
Tiny Barbarian: Didn’t super impress, but it’s better than Kruunu. I’d like to see this keep going, maybe even be an episodic series.
Kruunu: It’s like Super Meat Boy light until you get to the hell levels, after which it falls apart. I died more because inconsistent controls and that’s not good. Screw this game, my vote it going for the Barbarian.
By the way… voting form? I can’t cast my vote on the front page.

Best Tim Schafer game? Gotta be Grim Fandango.
My little girl distracted me from something I was going to say which was: If you took a play through of Grim Fandango and handed it to a decent video editor they would hand you back an adventure that was just compelling to watch. It’s that cinematic.
I know it’s been said a million time sbefore, but Joe, your kids are CRIMINALLY adorable.

I just watched the Hype Williams video for Kanye West’s “All of the Lights.” Naturally, I now have a headache and kind of feel like throwing up.

Did you really make a game to make you’re response? That could be the most epic response Bytejacker has ever had.
No, I just added a level to a WIP. It took more time recording than setting it up..
Free Indie of the Week: “Tiny Barbarian”
Nice, tight gameplay, great spritework (does that word even exist? spritecraft, maybe?), and made in Game Maker to boot! But, most important of all: it’s based on a Robert E. Howard short story! :) What is there not to love about a tale of a half-dead, lust-maddened barbarian that tirelessly chases a mocking girl covered with a wispy veil across the snows, only to find that she’s taken him to her brothers: the Frost-Giants, the sons of the god Ymir, intent on killing him, that are butchered by Conan’s merciless sword? Epic Win alright!!
Best game by Tim Schafer: “Grim Fandango”. Hands down.
