  2. josephohsnap Says:

[..YouTube..] is this show getting any press that i don’t know about? or is it just a hidden gem?

  3. mikesheley Says:

[..YouTube..] A little fuzzy math there with 20+39+41 = 100, but it was a great episode so we’ll forgive you. ; )

  4. monkeystick Says:

hope to see more long episodes like this one, keep ‘em coming

  5. ZeroSigma Says:

Excellent :) but why is the video hosted on you-tube? It is smaller and lower quality the the normal Bytejacker episode vids.

  6. JRivera0312 Says:

[..YouTube..] I would still say hidden gem but press never hurts so go tell your friends! ;)

  7. bytejacker Says:

[..YouTube..] You sure? I’d double-check that, maybe.

    We still love you. :)

  8. bytejacker Says:

[..YouTube..] I was just on the cover of Cat Fancy, but it was for something unrelated.

  9. josephohsnap Says:

[..YouTube..] i laughed for a few minutes when i read that. thanks for that. :)

  10. nihilocrat Says:

Were those Irish Carbombs at the very end?

  11. roamunit Says:

Great episode! The whole interview format really livened things up, and it was nice to see a segment of the indie gaming world that’s so often overlooked getting some screen time. The guests were also surprisingly fun interviewees; heck, I’d be interested in seeing Dave Gilbert come back for a more in-depth interview in another episode.

… so, that said, now that you’ve done ADVENTURE gaming, how about IF? C’mon, the IFComp just ended! It’s the perfect time!

  12. Evan Says:

I really enjoyed this — getting a peak into designers’ creativity. I would love to see more episodes like this.

  13. Elmernite Says:

Great show! Still to short, but that’s just me. I could watch a whole hour of Q&A with these developers. You did hit on the big points however. Nice job! I would like to extend a thanks to Francisco, Erin, and Dave myself, as one of the viewers, for coming on the show. It helps to inspire me in my own games and provides an enjoyable show.

Good, my vote for Free Indie won! Garden of Coloured Lights was very fun!

    Thanks again Bytejacker!

Quick question, could I record a wav of my comment and email you that? Would that count as voicemail?

  14. Anthony Says:

@Elmernite - Everyone was fantastic and they’re all welcome back on at any time. Dave’s here in town, so hopefully we’ll be able to get him back on very soon.

@Evan - You and me both! I love to talk to designers about what they do.

@nihilocrat - Yes. Yes they were. They’re half off Wednesday nights at “Off The Wagon” in the village.

@zerosigma - The episode took an extra long time to upload to our host last night. Youtube was up first, so we used that temporarily rather than make you guys wait.

  15. rorkimaru Says:

[..YouTube..] I’ve never bought an indie game before, I tend to gravitate towards freeware but Puzzle bots looks pretty tempting

  16. Dave Gilbert Says:

What a great evening! Thanks, Anthony, for having us on the show. It was great fun and the food was fantastic!

  17. WingedDrant Says:

[..YouTube..] Loved the interview and the episode, do you think you’ll be doing another? Also, I wanted to know if that’s a real restaurant or just a set (if it’s real how did you get them to let you film there).

  18. Ivy Says:

Anthony, thanks again for being such a wonderful host and having us on the show. I had such a great time in New York, in no small part because of your excellent taste in food and drinking establishments. Next time I’m in town, I promise I won’t be a disappointment to my ancestors when it comes to those Irish Car Bombs. ;)

  19. Francisco Says:

This turned out great! I love that you guys spliced in clips of the awful NES King’s Quest V and Hugo! It really brought back memories. The whole evening and interview process was awesome, and Anthony was as gracious a host as anyone could have asked for. Love the carbomb footage at the end.

    PS - That’s totally not makeup on my face…it’s…um…chalk. Yeah, that’s it…chalk.

  20. Julian Says:

Great episode! It’s good to see the too-often neglected Adventure genre getting some airtime like this. And it’s always fun to see interviews of the people who make the games we love.

Also, bonus points for wearing a Pac-Man shirt to dinner, Dave. Topical AND nerdy! I love it!

  21. Dave Gilbert Says:

Heh. The sports jacket makes the pac man shirt respectable. :)

  22. waniushaM Says:

    [..YouTube..] Amazing again.
    Thank you, bytejacker.

  23. carlJamesrutter Says:

[..YouTube..] This show is awesome, I love indie games being an indie game dev both as a hobby and profession

  24. David Says:

Loved the interview! Even though it took up 2 whole episodes, I would have loved to see more questions and longer answers.

It dissapointed me that when you asked the question how they came up with puzzles, only one person actually answered the question… I’m really interested in knowing how they pull off creative puzzles.

    Keep it up bytejacker!

(ps: this is the first time I’m commenting, and it’s awesome that you can see what you type as a comment while you type)

  25. Dirk Says:

Erin Robinson (I think she looks gorgeous!) reminds me of the red headed female game character in Dave Gilbert’s game.
    Is this a coincidence?
At the end of the video Erin even wears glasses, like the game character.

I love the indie adventure scene! unfortunately I don’t have enough time to play all the games^^

  26. Gil Megidish Says:

    Awesome episode! More please!

  27. Dave Gilbert Says:

@Dirk: Hah. Nope. A total coincidence.

  28. Ryan K Says:

At least Dirk hasn’t seen the photo.
