You’re making me nervous swinging the iPad around like that!
I can’t wait to get mine. Definitely will give those games a try.
Halcyon is freaking intense!
I love Zach Gage’s Bit Pilot on the iPhone. He nailed the touch controls. Jeff Minter’s ‘Minotaur Rescue’ should have been like that…
What about Jumpman? Have you tried it on the iPad?
I have, actually! It’s pretty good, but the control is a liiiiiiiittle too floaty.
I was thinking about finding all the free indies that are iOS games now and doing a rundown on them.
Dig the new video format. At the very least, now I don’t have to block off a good 15 minutes of my time. :D
I just had a long shared rant with a friend about how we (as graphic designers) feel like we’ve been abandoned by Apple in favor of yuppie kids and CEOs with too much money and a need to flaunt shiny things they barely know how to use. The few times I’ve used friends’ iPads have been neat, but outside of the tabletop multiplayer aspect I really just don’t see the appeal over an iTouch (of which I’m now on my second, thank you very much short Apple lifespans).
As for games I’m playing right now, my PS3 is still all about You Don’t Know Jack. That game just constantly has me laughing and thinking, I love it. iTouch has been sticking with Helsing’s Fire and Tiny Wings as of late. Trying to keep it light right now in preparation for the 3DS, which yes, I’m being a total tool and going to a midnight release for. I’m picking up Nintendogs + Cats and Pilotwings Resort for that, but I imagine most of my time will be spent with the AR games.
Forget-Me-Not has mostly been taking up my time the last few days.. Incredibly addictive game.
I might totally buy an iPad just for the 2 player games. Would feel like the old days of table style 20c arcade games. Does anyone else even remember those things?
I miss your sketches badly.
I’ve been insanely hooked on Street Fighter 4 for iphone. I know it isn’t an indie game, but it’s awesome.
On the indie front, I’ve been hooked on the game Hoggy. It’s where u play as this little pink blob who has to eat fruit.
You tilt to move, and touch the screen to shift gravity. It’s fun, addictive, and free. So I would reccoment checking it out (dunno if it’s on ipad tho).
You forgot globetrotters!
ITS AWESOME
Here’s a link of the flash version of the game

It’s a totally awesome one button game with multiplayer!
Love this (short) episode. You still crack me up.
